Chapter 41: Chapter 41: The Evil Spirit Inside That Bastard Might Crawl Out

Mr. Luo stepped out of the luxury sedan, his gaze first falling upon Young Master Liu.

He was surprised to see that the man who usually fawned over him like a lapdog was now standing stock-still, his eyes darting about as if lost in thought.

Whenever Mr. Luo arrived, Young Master Liu would always greet him with effusive enthusiasm. Today, however, he seemed exceptionally silent and cautious.

The area was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

This unusual silence filled Mr. Luo with a vague sense of unease.

As he scanned his surroundings, he was horrified to discover that the Starlight Entertainment building had vanished, leaving no trace behind.

Mr. Luo’s first thought was that this was likely the work of the Evil Spirit from the well.

’But wasn’t the Evil Spirit from the well on their side?’

’How could they be fighting amongst themselves?’

Mr. Luo couldn’t make sense of it.

However, he quickly pieced it together.

Young Master Liu had said on the phone that someone was causing trouble at Starlight Entertainment. It must have been them.

Anyone capable of reducing Starlight Entertainment to this state had to be extraordinarily powerful.

Mr. Luo was already starting to regret his decision. He shouldn’t have rushed over so recklessly.

But it was too late to leave. A young man had risen from a sofa and was now walking toward him, one step at a time.

His steps seemed slow, yet in the blink of an eye, he was standing before Mr. Luo.

Such speed was far beyond the capabilities of an ordinary person.

As the young man drew near, Mr. Luo finally saw his face clearly and exclaimed, "It’s you? Chu He!"

Chu He stood opposite Mr. Luo and asked coldly, "Tell me who else is colluding with the Evil Spirits."

"Impossible," Mr. Luo answered without hesitation.

Chu He didn’t give him much time to think.

He raised his hand and gently patted Mr. Luo on the shoulder.

The movement was so swift that before anyone could even blink, Chu He’s palm was resting firmly on Mr. Luo’s shoulder.

Immediately after, a horrifying sound emanated from within Mr. Luo’s body, like the crunch of shattering bones.

Mr. Luo’s body instantly lost all support. As if his strength had been completely drained, he crumpled to the ground, his heart filled with terror.

’I can’t believe it... In front of Chu He, I’m completely powerless.’

Chu He stared down at Mr. Luo, enunciating each word. "Answer my question."

"What? You’re used to throwing your weight around in the Great Jing Empire. Did you really think you could act so brazenly in the Great Xia Empire too?"

Mr. Luo was seething with rage. Chu He had shown his authority absolutely no respect.

On his own turf, everyone was utterly deferential to him.

Yet this man, Chu He, dared to lay a hand on him. How could he not be furious?

His resentment toward Young Master Liu surged like a tidal wave. ’That traitor! How dare he betray me!’

He had led this formidable enemy, Chu He, here, and then lured him into the trap.

Mr. Luo swore to himself that he would make Young Master Liu pay a terrible price.

At that moment, the aura of the Evil Spirit within him began to stir.

It was an aura filled with a chilling evil and violence.

Simultaneously, Mr. Luo’s own aura as a King-level expert erupted at full force.

The powerful presence swept over the area like a tempest.

Although Chu He’s last strike had shattered ninety percent of the bones in his body, the most critical ones had been left intact, leaving Mr. Luo a sliver of a chance at survival.

As the Evil Spirit’s aura spread, Mr. Luo’s previously limp body began to rapidly expand as if injected with new life, swelling like an inflating balloon.

In just a few seconds, he was back on his feet, his aura now even more ferocious than that of an ordinary King-level expert.

His body, however, emanated a putrid stench. His face was ashen, and he had long lost any sign of the life a living person should possess.

But Mr. Luo didn’t seem to care. He grinned hideously,

his eyes, fixed on Chu He, filled with madness and defiance. "I will be the one to bury you—the so-called number one expert in the world, the one they put on a pedestal!"

Faced with Mr. Luo’s defiance and madness,

Chu He simply reached out and gave Mr. Luo a light tap on the forehead.

The tap seemed casual, yet it contained immeasurable power.

The hideous grin on Mr. Luo’s face hadn’t even faded as he toppled backward, all signs of life extinguished.

"???"

Young Master Liu stared in astonishment, unable to believe his eyes.

’Mr. Luo... was dead? Just like that?’

Fear and dread made his legs give out, and he collapsed to his knees.

Chu He’s ruthlessness and decisiveness in killing had completely broken Young Master Liu’s nerve.

’I thought that even if Mr. Luo was captured, Chu He would at least try to interrogate him for information.’

’But he just killed him outright.’

His only patron, Mr. Luo, was gone.

His fate now rested entirely in Chu He’s hands.

Just then, Young Master Liu suddenly remembered something.

He quickly looked up at Chu He and said urgently, "Mr. Chu, be careful! The Evil Spirit inside that bastard’s body is probably going to come out. The body may be dead, but the Evil Spirit isn’t!"

Young Master Liu had pointedly switched to calling Mr. Luo a "bastard" to curry favor with Chu He.

Liu Yuzhu’s brow was furrowed, her gaze fixed on Mr. Luo’s lifeless corpse.

She couldn’t help but feel a twinge of regret.

’If Chu He had only subdued Mr. Luo,’ she thought, ’we might have had a chance to find a way to suppress the Evil Spirit.’

’After all, while it was dormant inside a living host, the Evil Spirit was at least contained.’

Mr. Luo’s body began to lurch unsteadily to its feet.

His mouth gaped open, revealing chunks of putrid flesh within and releasing a nauseating stench.

The ambient temperature plummeted,

as if the very air was freezing over, making everyone present shiver involuntarily.

The Evil Spirit’s aura inside Young Master Liu began to stir as well. He could feel that cold, malevolent power becoming restless.

Terrified, he hastily and carefully communicated with the Evil Spirit inside him. ’Keep playing dead! Don’t you dare move!’

He was terrified that any unusual activity would provoke Chu He into killing him offhandedly.

Chu He, however, had a glint of excitement in his eyes.

He had just completed a mission and obtained a powerful magic art: the Five Thunders Righteous Method.

He was now eager to test the power of this Thunder Skill.

After all, Evil Spirits were universally acknowledged as beings that couldn’t be killed.

He wanted to see if this Thunder Skill could truly and utterly annihilate an Evil Spirit.

"Supreme Jade Pure King, ruler of the thirty-six heavens, manifest from the nine. Your form pervades the ten realms. With hair unbound, you ride the qilin; with bare feet, you tread upon layered ice. You hold the Nine Heavens in your grasp, command the winds and lash the thunderbolts, with the power of wisdom..."

As he chanted the spell, his eyes began to flash with the light of thunder, and electric currents danced within them.

At the same time, the deep RUMBLE of cracking thunder echoed from within his body.

His black hair whipped about, though there was no wind. Every strand, drawn by the Thunderbolt Power, crackled with a brilliant light.

"...to subjugate all demonic spirits, to deliver souls from the endless night, to benefit all living beings like the waters of the Milky Way! With a thousand eyes and a thousand moon wheels, I vow to forever glorify the teachings of the Celestial Lord in ages to come!"

Chu He raised his palm, and blinding arcs of lightning immediately coiled around his fingertips.

The lightning bolts, like silver serpents, danced in the air with a loud CRACKLE.

The entire sky was shrouded in the raging lightning, as serpentine bolts shot through the air, threatening to tear the very heavens asunder.

Sensing this terrifying power, the Evil Spirit within Young Master Liu fell dormant once more.

’What a spineless coward!’

Young Master Liu cursed the Evil Spirit inside him.

Chu He thrust his palm forward.

The lightning at his fingertips instantly swelled and erupted into a massive sphere of electricity.

The sphere radiated a volatile energy, making the very fabric of the world feel unstable.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he slammed the sphere of lightning into the Evil Spirit that was once Mr. Luo.

At that moment, the blinding light reached its zenith, overwhelming the distant lights of the town.

The whole world was illuminated!
