Necromancer: I Am A Disaster-Chapter 658: Antares, Someone Is Trying To Kill Me
A simple “Huh?” echoed out, yet it made the entire space tremble.
The sound drowned out the thunder, rippling outward and striking the human class users outside the city.
Many groaned in pain as their souls were shaken. Almost everyone was injured; the stronger one’s soul, the lighter the damage.
It was terrifying. Absolutely terrifying.
A single utterance had injured thousands of peak-level class users.
What kind of existence possessed such power?
Even Feng Yiming suffered minor injuries, and his expression darkened, “Is it the Demon Emperor? Or the Dragon Emperor?”
Aside from those two, he could think of no one capable of such overwhelming might.
Inside the Thunderclap Tower, Lin Moyu heard the voice as well, but he was unharmed.
The city’s protective shield had blocked all external assaults.
With his soul force now vastly strengthened, the city’s defenses had grown correspondingly formidable.
The chains formed from the lightning element had already been severed, rendering the opponent’s earlier efforts meaningless.
Shenxia City had re-rooted itself into the earth, while the scattered lightning element was absorbed by the core of the Thunderclap Tower and converted into energy.
Not only had the city endured, it had profited.
Yet the opponent clearly refused to give up.
Through the Thunderclap Tower, Lin Moyu locked onto the colossal hands tearing through space.
“Godslaying Lightning!”
A bolt of lightning shot from the tower—utterly different from the lightning filling the sky.
It crossed tens of thousands of meters in an instant and slammed into the colossal hands.
A violent explosion followed, and the spatial rift shrank slightly.
“It’s working!”
Lin Moyu struck again.
The Godslaying Lightning he wielded now was far stronger than before, even carrying a faint law aura.
Though the colossal hands tore through space itself, they deliberately avoided the lightning element, clearly vulnerable to it.
Lin Moyu seized upon this weakness.
As long as the hands disappeared, the crisis would end.
Under the relentless bombardment of Godslaying Lightning, the hands rapidly began to shrink.
“You’ve gone too far!”
A voice suddenly resounded in Lin Moyu’s mind. It was a soul transmission.
In the next instant, purple lightning descended from the heavens. Carrying terrifying power, it pierced the city’s protective shield as easily as a hot knife through butter.
The purple lightning struck the Thunderclap Tower and plunged straight toward its core.
Lin Moyu’s body went numb as the lightning drilled into his body and manifested within his soul world.
“A soul attack!”
Warnings blared continuously from his soul. Lin Moyu realized the opponent wanted to kill him.
Cold murderous intent flared in Lin Moyu’s eyes, “It won’t be that easy to kill me.”
The Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal roared. It released a Dragon Breath, forming armor around his soul, then smashed head-on into the purple lightning.
Lin Moyu’s soul shook violently, his entire body trembling.
The shock was immense, but he was unharmed.
The Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal had proven its value once more.
Lin Moyu continued controlling the Thunderclap Tower, bombarding the colossal hands without pause.
But this time, the enemy was prepared. The hands shone with radiant light, forming a defensive layer that even the Godslaying Lightning could not penetrate.
The distance of over 50,000 meters was an issue.
Aside from Godslaying Lightning, every other method was useless, and leaving the tower to confront such an enemy would be suicide.
Lin Moyu understood with perfect clarity: anyone capable of tearing space apart stood several tiers above him.
Without hesitation, he took out Antares’s scale.
“Antares.” Lin Moyu called urgently, “Someone is trying to kill me!”
A furious roar erupted from the scale, “Who dares?!”
Antares was genuinely enraged. Anyone who dared attempt to kill his friend was courting death.
“I’m at Shenxia City.” Lin Moyu said quickly, “Someone has torn open the space directly overhead.”
Antares’s gaze pierced the void, locking onto the scene instantly.
“Heh. Bold, aren’t you?”
Hidden within the mist, Antares’s claw moved.
Lin Moyu watched as a massive claw appeared 50,000 meters above him, deep within the densest sea of lightning.
It tore through the lightning with terrifying speed, causing the entire sea of lightning to collapse in an instant.
The claw then plunged straight into the space rift and grabbed a tower-like object from the other side.
A scream rang out—sharp with shock and terror.
“Scram!”
“Come back again, and I’ll slaughter you all!”
Antares bellowed, then retrieved the tower-like object and gave the colossal hands a couple of light taps.
Like the sea of lightning before them, they collapsed instantly.
Space repaired itself, and in the blink of an eye, calm returned.
Lin Moyu spoke sincerely through the scale, “Thank you.”
“Don’t.” Antares snapped irritably, “I can’t stand that kind of stuff.”
Lin Moyu smiled faintly, “Like it or not, I still have to thank you.”
Antares snorted, “Get your ass back here. I’ve got something good for you.”
With that, the connection was cut.
A faint thrill stirred in Lin Moyu’s chest. Anything Antares deemed good was no ordinary treasure.
It was almost certainly that tower-shaped object, the one Antares had seized just now.
As the lightning faded, Lin Moyu dismissed his protective shield and stepped out of the Thunderclap Tower.
The tower slowly sank back into the earth, and Shenxia City returned to normal.
Everything remained unchanged, as if nothing had happened.
Feng Yiming was the first to return, “Godly General Lin, is everything resolved?”
Lin Moyu glanced at him, “It’s over.”
Feng Yiming exhaled in relief, “Godly General Lin… what exactly happened just now?”
Lin Moyu paused before answering, “Your level is still too low. Even if I explained it, you wouldn’t understand.”
Bitterness flickered across Feng Yiming’s face. He had heard those words before.
Only then did Lin Moyu truly understand why Antares and the Kunlun Great God hadn’t told him about the past.
He had once resented their secrecy, but now he found himself doing the same.
It was the truth—Feng Yiming wouldn’t comprehend it.
And even if he did, what would it change?
Some things were better left unknown.
“If you want answers.” Lin Moyu said quietly, “Grow stronger. As fast as you can.”
Feng Yiming nodded, understanding, “Thank you for your help, Godly General Lin.”
“It’s my duty! I’m leaving!” Lin Moyu activated the scale and vanished.
Feng Yiming let out a long breath and ordered operations to resume.
Shenxia City returned to its usual rhythm.
For ordinary class users, the incident was nothing more than a rare and spectacular sight.
For Lin Moyu, however, it was different.
It was the first time he had truly faced a powerhouse from beyond the world.
Though he didn’t know the opponent’s true level, one thing was clear: he was still far from strong enough. He needed to push himself further. He needed to grow stronger.
…
When Lin Moyu appeared, Antares teased, “Ha! The moment you hear there’s something good, you come rushing over.”
“You’re picking up bad habits.” Lin Moyu sighed, shaking his head.
Antares shot back, “You become like those you keep company with.”
“Then why didn’t you rub off on me?” Lin Moyu retorted.
“Rub off how? Sleep together? With your lifespan, one nap and your whole life would be over.” Antares scoffed.
Lin Moyu ignored him. Antares was not only powerful but a true Dragon, born with an absurdly long lifespan.
Even the weakest Elemental Dragons lived tens of thousands of years.
It was a gap Lin Moyu couldn’t bridge.
He changed the subject, “The good thing you mentioned, what is it?”
“Hmph. You already know.”
A miniature tower appeared before him.
It was the same object he had glimpsed within the Thunderclap Tower.
Back then, lightning had obscured it, leaving only a vague outline.
Now, it was clearly a tower.
It hovered above Lin Moyu’s palm, slowly rotating, faint arcs of electricity dancing at its tip.
The more he studied it, the more familiar it felt. “This is… the Thunderclap Tower?”
Its appearance was nearly identical to the one in Shenxia City, almost a perfect match.
Antares chuckled, “So you’re not blind after all.”
Ignoring the jab, Lin Moyu asked, “What makes it so special?”
Antares narrowed his eyes, dragging out the suspense. After a long pause, he said, “Guess.”
Lin Moyu tossed the small tower back, “Guess my foot. Just tell me.”
Laughing, Antares said, “You’ve controlled the Thunderclap Tower before, haven’t you? How did it feel?”
Lin Moyu recalled the two times he had operated it, “The Godslaying Lightning is terrifyingly powerful. But, my strength is insufficient to draw out its full potential.”
“You’re at your level and you already want to wield Godslaying Lightning?” Antaris scoffed, “You’ve got a long way to go. Anything else?”
“It lacks flexibility.” Lin Moyu continued, “Its attack methods are too limited, and its defenses are… lacking.”
