Netori SSS-Emperor: All Queens Shall Be Mine!-Chapter 18: The True Prince’s Advisor
Chapter 18: The True Prince’s Advisor
Robert Forest, a man of lesser talent posing himself to be greater than he is. He was once a known swindler tested by the king for a secretive role that he later lost to a stranger. A disappointment then and a disappointment now, the only thing the man had going for himself were his connection through Aestonia and the mediocre talent he boasted so much about.
But by no means was he an imbecile. Making use of deception and coin, he'd falsified his ranking paper. Appearing as a B-ranker while being a rank lower, he managed to deceive everyone and claimed himself a position as William's sword master and advisor.
The youth looked up to him, not knowing his master was a fraud. Taking everything he said to heart, William was flooded with poison spilled by Robert directly into his heart. Spewing scorn for the adoptive prince, the fraud ensured the brothers couldn't live with each other. And through his deception, he hoped to gain power, the power to be the next king's advisor.
'If only this moron wasn't this weak, I wouldn't have to worry at all!' However as Robert stood in the prince's room, the man couldn't help but shower the prince's name with scorn. Despite being his apprentice and learning everything from him, William was just another person for him to use.
"Two days more, that's all we have!" Anxiously pacing the room, William kept biting his nails while staring at the ground. "DID YOU THINK OF SOMETHING OR NOT?!"
Stopping all of a sudden, the prince turned towards Robert, his eyes bloodshot with anger. Grinding his teeth as he usually did when stressed to his limits, William was seconds away from lashing it all on his master. Growing nervous, Robert stepped away from the enraged prince. Clearing his throat with a grumble, he finally decided to speak up.
"Nobody can defeat you, Prince–"
"NONSENSE!" Cutting his master off, the prince conjured a whip made of dark magic and smashed a pot near him with a swing. "THAT PISS BLOODED COWARD DEFEATED ME WITH A FUCKING PUNCH OR DID YOU FORGET THAT?! DID YOU FORGET YOUR OWN INCOMPETENCE IN TEACHING ME?!"
Raising the whip high, William slapped Robert with a skull-ratting swing. The master now but a servant, fell to the ground with agony burning the left side of his face. Not only did the whip strike him hard, but its magic also burnt his face in the shape of a withering branch. Gritting his teeth shut, Robert held in the curses and slowly pulled himself back up.
Having struck him already, William's anger had somewhat subsided–giving Robert just a window of a chance to tell him what he had to say.
"I-I...I have a plan, Prince William. Just hear me once, you'll be king, I swear!" Drawing out the fraud in him, Robert stretched his hands forward as if he were begging. "Give me a chance and I know you won't be disappointed, in fact, I already have something we can do to get that commoner out of your way!"
Hope sparked in Williama's eyes. Was there a way to defeat his brother? Of course, he wanted to know. Thus, letting go of the magic whip in hand, he took a deep breath and gestured his master to continue to talk. Turning around after doing so, he grabbed a chair from his study and allowed himself some rest.
"Remember the woman whose husband you beat up with your whip recently?" Although confused about where this conversation was headed, William decided to nod along. "The man died but his wife was seen talking to Wolf on the street, she asked him about the fight between you too–"
"Get to fucking point!" Low on patience already, the prince hurried him along.
Flinching at his scream for just a moment, Robert nearly had a heart attack.
"Y-yes, of course..." Sweating like a pig, he took just a moment to gather his thoughts. "We need to hire her and get her to talk to him again. The woman gave him something in a basket–some sweets, says the bystanders. If we can just manipulate her into giving Wolf something to eat, even something to drink like a cup of tea in the morning, we can take that commoner out of the competition."
"And how would delivering him tea get him out of the competition, you moron?!" William barked, his eyes furrowed and his face contorted beyond recognition.
"Poison! We need to add poison to whatever it is that she gives him!" Growing visibly desperate to please William, Robert swallowed what little pride he had left and suggested murder. "The queen has a special cabinet full of poisons in the kitchens, we need only hire another girl to put the poison that she would then carry to Wolf."
Drawn in by the idea, William pondered over it for a moment. But then a question arose in his head.
"Why don't we just pay some girl to give him the poison drink directly, why hire this woman at all?" To his question, Robert had a quick answer.
"Out of nowhere, some girl brings him tea so close to the competition? The commoner will see right through, and that's why we need someone he can trust, and that person is that same woman!" As Robert was done and the prince was left to contemplate the idea, the door to the room suddenly flung open.

Jumping out of his seat, William turned to find Sola lying on the ground and caressing her head after hitting it on the tiles. The sight confused him, but in just a few seconds as he tried to make sense of it, he realized that she'd been listening in on their conversation.
'Shit...' Shooting Robert a sideways glance, he motioned with his head for him to get the faunan girl. Nodding back, the master charged for the woman and pulled her up by her hair. 'Why did you have to do this?'
"AUGHH!" Feeling hurt rushing through her cranium, Sola cried in pain, but with Robert shutting the door behind them, no one could hear her, much less come to her aid.
"Throw her in the dungeon for now, I'll deal with her tomorrow!" William barked, and without any question, Robert did as he was told.
Knocking Sola out with a blow to the back of her head, the old man dragged her through the shadows and upon reaching the dungeons threw her in a cell. Making sure to place in the last few cells, he ensured that nobody would find her–especially since nobody knew they had to look for her in the first place.
'Ughh such a bother...' With only two days left, Robert had a lot of work to do tonight, for if not tomorrow then there was no way he would have enough time to poison the adoptive prince. 'And now we have to make her talk about what she heard and why she was there in the first place.'
The torture of the bunny had to wait–for first came the visit to this woman's house, and some strings pulling to create a believable story for the sudden boost in hiring. Robert wasn't just going to hire her, but an entire fleet of women under the guise of the queen's orders. Assuming nobody would dare question the queen about something so meagre, he rounded up some soldiers and marched through the streets all night.
