Chapter 398: What is your choice?

"Anyway," Grey coughed slightly. "How is your condition?"

"I am still the same. I can make some small maneuvers, but that is it. Whenever I try to use Origin Force, I feel a severe strain," Valeria replied as she observed her own body. She was an energy construct right now, and only now did she realize what she had been interacting with up until this point.

A shocked look formed on her face. "You... Brother Grey, did you reach the 5th Rank too?"

Valeria was completely dumbfounded and bewildered. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

What the actual fuck?

Her brain short-circuited instantly. A 5th Ranker who was not even a full adult?

Having reached this stage herself, she knew exactly how hard it was to cross the realms. Yet, her now officially confirmed boyfriend was at the 5th Rank despite being younger than her?

"I am built different," Grey said with a laugh as he casually flicked his hair back.

"Besides, I cannot lag behind my Miss Valeria. It would be a shame if I did not match your powers. Otherwise, how would I handle you?" Grey said with a teasing grin. "Wouldn’t I completely collapse from your life level’s pressure?"

"Your mind is filled with dirty thoughts." Valeria blushed slightly as she playfully hit Grey’s chest.

Grey shrugged. "I am just matching your energy."

Valeria rolled her eyes hearing this. "I am not that bad. Hmph."

Then, Grey slowly began recounting everything that had happened up until now. From him becoming a Lesser Heaven and unifying the Blue Star, to unsealing the Chaos Seal her ancestor had placed.

After he finished recounting the events, Valeria just stood there with a bewildered and dumbfounded look on her face.

She didn’t know how to react. Honestly, she had wanted to shock Grey when she woke up with her new powers, but instead, it was Grey who shocked her to the core.

"As a result, my eyes also slightly turned alien-like," Grey said with a smile. The Lesser Heaven rings within his eyes spawned and glowed, accompanied by his saintly, q-shaped pupils.

He had hidden them so as not to scare others. The last time a human saw him, they mistook him for an illegal alien. He did not want that happening again.

"You are starting to become less and less human with each passing day," Valeria said as she observed Grey’s face closely. She gently lifted her hands and caressed his cheek. "But I will still like you."

"Even if I was a worm?" Grey tilted his head.

Usually, this was a question asked by the girlfriend, but now that he had become a group-project-like existence, it felt more normal for Grey to ask this.

"..." Valeria looked at Grey with twitching lips when she heard this.

"Did you also knock a screw loose along with all those transformations?"

"Maybe." Grey appeared deep in thought. "I might indeed have a few screws loose, but I am sure it is not something my Miss Valeria cannot fix."

"A lap pillow and a kiss every day is more than enough," Grey added with a light laugh.

"You..." Valeria was caught completely off guard.

This man, wasn’t his change a bit too drastic? Did spending time so closely with Lia change him this quickly?

But on the other hand, wasn’t he always this confident and straightforward with other things? Maybe having spent time with Lia had just given him much more confidence to act shamelessly.

"By the way, while we are on that topic," Grey suddenly spoke up. "I have reforged my path. Do you want to convert to it? Of course, you might have to regress back to the 2nd Rank initially, but with my help, you should swiftly be able to climb back to the top as a follower of my path."

"Naturally, you will have to give up your Origin Core. But the majority of the restrictions placed on you, such as not being a true phoenix, can be completely eliminated."

"With you converting to my Nexus path, you can choose to transform into a full phoenix anytime you want. I can easily make those adjustments for you."

"Because, as far as I am concerned, phoenixes are fabled existences in the starry sky, and it might take us years to even find a pureblood one. By then, you would still be stuck at the 5th Rank."

"What do you say?"

Hearing this, Valeria fell silent. His proposal was not bad at all. Not only would she avoid being powerless, but he also guaranteed she could climb the ranks faster. But on the other hand, it took a lot of effort for her to merge with the Origin Core. Wouldn’t all that effort go to waste?

But in the end, what he said was absolutely right. Finding a true phoenix would be incredibly hard. From what she knew, they were mythical existences, and having awakened some of those abilities as a half-phoenix herself, she understood that harsh reality very well.

"I will convert to your path," Valeria nodded readily.

"Then we shall make the arrangements after we pay the Crimson Core Planet a visit."

Valeria agreed.

Then, both of them descended back to the Blue Star. Valeria spoke with her family for a bit before she went along with Grey to the center of the floating city. What was once Luca’s grand mansion was now entirely under Grey’s control.

A sleek spaceship was docked nearby. Eterna, Bai Yue, Werner, the 5th Rank expert, and the few foreign experts who had descended were all gathered there.

"Are we ready to head out?" Grey descended, having changed into a casual white t-shirt and a long black hooded cardigan and sports shoes he found the other day while roaming around blue star.

Right now, Grey looked no different from any normal teenager or an aspiring Evolver just entering the adult world. But he was, in fact, a terrifyingly powerful 5th Ranker.

"The preparations are done, Master," Werner said as he shot into the sky. Werner right now looked significantly younger.

During the past day, Grey had visited Werner and thoroughly guided him onto the new Nexus path, allowing the old man to immediately reach the 3rd Rank.

As for Lia, she was still undergoing her transformation with Little Hong. She would probably wake up after they returned from the Crimson Core Planet, meaning in a day or two.

"Then let’s head out, everyone." Grey stretched casually as he entered the spaceship. Right now it was in its shrunken state. Grey expanded it a bit more to accommodate the group, and one by one, everyone, including the 5th Rank expert and the foreigners, took their seats.

By now, the captives knew better than to rebel. The person piloting the spaceship, who looked like nothing more than an average eighteen-year-old teenager, was in fact a full-blown monster capable of slapping a planet into destruction.

"Attention folks, the Astral Express will now depart."

"Astral Express?" Valeria, who had been chatting away with Bai Yue, exchanged a bewildered look with the others.
