Nightmare Assault-Chapter 358: Left
Chapter 358: Left
“Brother Wolf, where… are we going?” Yu Lan held Banana Wolf’s arm. She kept looking around, but she couldn’t see anything because it was too dark. A strange fear festered in her heart. Her only consolation was she was with Banana Wolf.
Ever since the man dragged him away from the nail shop, he rarely spoke. He’d answer whenever she asked a direct question, but he sounded very unwilling. Yu Lan assumed he was being cautious.
However… this journey was too long. Eventually, Yu Lan noticed something was wrong. The surroundings were so dark. How did… Banana Wolf see where the path was? This discovery exploded in her heart like a bomb. Yu Lan’s knees wobbled. She didn’t dare to speak. She slowly moved her hands down Banana Wolf’s arm… until she touched a hand. Compared to the hand’s chilliness, the thing that despaired Yu Lan was the shape of the hand… and its extremely long nails.
“Ah!” As she screamed, Yu Lan gathered the last bit of her strength to fling the hand away. At the same time, she switched on her flashlight. She saw the hand Banana Wolf chopped off. This was it! The ghost had returned to find her!
The light shone about, but Banana Wolf… No, the ghost was gone. She waved the flashlight around. It looked like she was in an enclosed space filled with shelves that were taller than she was.
The shelves were arranged with human heads. They were props used to place wigs. There were brown, brunette and black hair. Yu Lan felt uncomfortable. The story relayed by the female boss repeated in her mind.
She swallowed nervously. She was not as experienced as the rest. That wasn’t something that she could act out. She had only survived one mission. She was lucky to survive because she had good teammates. She knew that if she wanted to live, she had to leave this place. She was most likely in the storage area where the girl was killed.
The door. She had to find the door and escape!
She still had a chance. She tried to cheer up. She had to live!
She took a few steps and felt the urge to look back. It felt like something was staring at her. The light was reflected by the different-coloured hair. In the dark, they radiated an oppressive despair.
The tapping of leather shoes on the ground was full of rhythm. She found the wall and planned to walk along it to find the door. Of course, the premise was she could survive until then. The number of wigs on the shelves was far beyond her expectations. She walked for ten minutes but still hadn’t found the corner.
She paused because she knew that something was wrong. Before they entered the mall, she saw that the mall was small. It couldn’t have such a large storage. Plus, a wig shop at a place like this wouldn’t keep so many wigs in storage.
This was bad…
She forced herself to calm down, but her heart wouldn’t listen to her.
DRIP
She froze.
DRIP
DRIP
She whipped her head up. She couldn’t tell if she was hallucinating. She started to hear sounds.
It was the sound of dripping water, and it was very close… less than ten meters away from her. She was not at all curious because, in most ghost stories, most victims died of their curiosity.
After Yu Lan confirmed the direction of the water dripping, she ran in the opposite direction. However, to her consternation, no matter how fast she ran, she would be haunted by the water of water. It didn’t help even if she closed her ears. The sound… gradually closed in.
Eight, five, three metres… She normally wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the distances, but Yu Lan could sense it clearly at that moment. Eventually, the dripping paused beside her. She couldn’t run anymore. She had no energy.
DRIP
DRIP
With trembling hands, she aimed the flashlight at the source of the sound. There were spots of blood on the ground beside her. Moments later, a drop of fresh blood landed on the ground and splattered on her white leather shoes. The colour was so eye-catching.
With a grit of her teeth, she slowly moved the flashlight up until… she saw it. It was a human head hidden among the fake heads. It was the female boss of the manicure shop!
Her eyes were wide open. Her torn neck was attached to peeled skin. Her red flesh was exposed. Blood flowed out of her broken neck. Her tousled hair was stuck together. Blood flowed along the shelf and dripped to the ground.
The female boss was killed by the ghost.
The next second, Yu Lan saw the scariest and last moment of her life. The dead boss’ eyes suddenly focused on staring at her. Then, her lips split open into a gruesome smile.
The flashlight went out.
“AH!”
…
The group moved through the dark. Wan Xiaoning led the group. Banana Wolf handed her the blade because he didn’t have eyes that could see through the dark.
“Wait,” Hua Luo suddenly spoke.
The other two halted. “What’s wrong?” Banana Wolf asked as he aimed his flashlight around. He didn’t see anything.
Hua Luo’s nostril twitched. Then, his face shifted, “There’s a smell of blood.” He pointed down a direction. “It came from that way.” He added, “It’s being carried by the wind.”
The group understood that Yu Lan… was probably dead.
Before they left, Wan Xiaoning took a picture down from the wall. A person could be seen clearly in it.
It was the woman who called herself the boss. A small sentence was written on it, “Song Jianyou’s first year anniversary. Wish Sunshine Story and the Boss will always be beautiful.”
Beside her was a fat lady. She looked more like a shop owner. She looked shrewd and wore a jacket that was one size too small for her.

What Wan Xiaoning saw verified this. She said Yu Lan was led away by the ‘female boss’.
Song Jianyou held Yu Lan’s hand, and her other ghost hand, which had sharp nails, covered Yu Lan’s eyes. The two wandered off just like that. Yu Lan was dragged away like a puppet.
“The ghost covered her eyes,” Hua Luo mumbled to herself.
