No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1920: Hayes Edwards Extra (77)
Who knew that as soon as they stepped outside, they ran straight into a reporter who came to interview them.
Hayes Edwards and Grace Winter’s good looks immediately caught the reporter’s attention, and the microphone was handed over, "Excuse me, are you a candidate today?"
Hayes was very impatient with these interviews, just about to refuse when he felt his sleeve being gently tugged.
Grace looked up at him.
Hayes could only suppress his impatience and reluctantly answer the questions.
After a few questions, the reporter shifted focus to Grace, "This little girl is so pretty. Is she your sister? Is she also a candidate today?"
Grace was about to answer when Hayes spoke first, "No, she’s here to pick me up."
After saying that, he pulled Grace behind him to block her from view, "We’ve got other things to do, we’ll be going now."
Since he put it that way, the reporter couldn’t continue to bother them.
Hayes led Grace out of the crowd, and Father Edwards and Mother Edwards were already waiting by the roadside.
Mother Edwards even asked why they took so long to come out.
Grace said, "There was a reporter sister interviewing Hayes Edwards just now."
Father Edwards laughed, "Being interviewed by reporters, looks like our Hayes is going to be a big star."
Grace laughed along with him.
The car was filled with laughter and chatter.
Hayes turned his head to look out the car window, where the reflection of Grace’s smiling face was visible. As he watched, a smile also spread across his lips.
It seemed, it wasn’t so annoying after all.
The days waiting for the high school entrance exam results were the most relaxed for Hayes. He would almost every day arrange to play basketball downstairs with his friends.
Grace also wanted to join them, but she still had homework to do.
The two families were discussing taking a trip to nearby attractions during the vacation.
Grace wanted to finish her homework before going on the trip.
On the seventh day of doing homework, Hayes called Grace out, "Stop working, I’ll take you out to play."
They went to Helena’s family convenience store.
The big yellow dog at the entrance was still there, it seemed to have grown a bit since they last saw it, still wearing a muzzle as it lay basking in the sun, indifferent to the people and things trying to draw its attention.
Grace bought it a sausage.
The big yellow dog glanced at it, its eyes seemed to hold a hint of disdain.
Grace realized later, "You can’t eat with a muzzle on, take it home to eat then."
She placed the sausage on the ground.
The big yellow dog didn’t even look at it until Grace walked away, when it used its paw to pull the sausage under its paw.
In July and August, the weather was hot.
Close to noon they all went to Grace’s house to play.
Grace showed Helena her little kitchen.
She liked making desserts, so Mother Winter prepared a small kitchen just for her.
Helena thought it was so cool, "Grace, can you bake small cakes by yourself?"
Grace nodded, "Yes, but I’m still not very good at it."
Helena was already swallowing, "Grace, we’ll be best friends forever, right?"
Grace hadn’t quite caught on to how the topic shifted here, but she still nodded.
Helena continued, "As your best friend, do I get to taste your cakes?"
She grabbed Grace’s hand, her eyes almost glowing, as if wanting to taste it right away.
Grace was a little embarrassed, "Sure, I’ll bring some for you next time."
Hayes heard their conversation.
