No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 640 - 638: Always as Ever [5 Updates]
In an instant, Maya Spencer was stunned. Over the past year or more, Liam Spencer had proposed to her many times, but this was the first time he had done so in front of so many people. Maya felt nervous and a bit at a loss.
Whenever Liam proposed in the past, she would playfully dismiss it, but with so many onlookers today, how could she possibly embarrass Liam?
At the same time, she knew in her heart that it was because she had been dismissive too many times that today he proposed publicly, leaving her no way to retreat.
Maya was conflicted. She really wanted to marry Liam, but she was afraid she might not be able to have children.
For a moment, she was in a dilemma.
Liam looked at the trace of conflict on Maya’s face and said with a smile, "Maya, I’m not someone who’s good at romance. As for proposing, I’ve come up with many ideas, but none of them can truly express my feelings for you, because words fall short."
"I just want to spend an ordinary life with you, giving you all my love. No matter what difficulties or problems we may face in the future, my feelings for you will remain unchanged, unwavering. Please be with me, give me the chance to take care of you, to love you for a lifetime."
"Maya Spencer, will you marry me?"
Liam’s proposal was simple, without any novelty, but it still moved everyone present.
Everyone who knows Liam knows it’s hard for him to say so much and make such a commitment, as he’s always been cold and reserved.
So, even if his words were simple, it was clear to everyone that he was determined to marry Maya.
This time, Maya was caught off guard by Liam. She knew how good he was to her, and she realized his promise of unwavering love was made because he knew she minded not being able to have children.
Maya understood that Liam was forcing her into a corner; even if she couldn’t have children in this life, he didn’t care as long as she was by his side.
Suddenly, Maya’s eyes reddened with tears, and she bit her lip, unsure of how to respond to Liam.
Liam knelt on the ground and, seeing her hesitation, took a ring from his pocket, placed it on her left ring finger, and once again asked, "Maya, will you marry me?"
Liam had been carrying this ring with him every day, looking for an opportunity to propose to Maya.
"Maya, why are you still hesitating? Just say yes to the principal!" Ella Turner urged anxiously, giving Maya a little nudge. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Maya, if you don’t say yes to him, are you planning on switching to another guy?"
"Exactly! Hurry and say yes!"
"Together! Together! Together!" The crowd started chanting as they saw Maya hesitating.
Maya, hearing the crowd’s chants, took a deep breath, lowered her gaze, and stared at Liam kneeling before her, her eyes brimming with tears.
She didn’t want to refuse Liam. Internally struggling, she desired a lifetime with him, yet was scared of the changes no children might bring to their lives in the future.
Seeing the worry in Maya’s eyes, Liam gently said, "Maya, trust me."
Liam’s sincere eyes touched Maya deeply, leaving her unable to find a reason to refuse.
So suddenly, Maya opened her arms, gently hugged Liam, and nodded, saying, "Yes, yes, I agree. I am willing to marry you."
After an internal struggle, Maya finally decided to take the leap, thinking she’d deal with future problems one step at a time. She chose to grasp her current happiness and ultimately agreed to marry Liam.
Liam was overjoyed when Maya finally agreed to marry him, lifting her from the couch and embracing her tightly.
At that moment, Liam’s heart, which had been heavy, finally felt at ease. Even though they had never had a huge fight or broken up since becoming a couple, as long as he hadn’t married Maya or gotten that marriage certificate, Liam always felt like something was nagging at him, preventing him from feeling at ease.
"Liam, I am willing to marry you." Maya felt the warmth of the man, remembering the words he had spoken to her earlier. Her eyes reddened slightly, and her hands wrapped tightly around him, fearing he would change his mind.
After agreeing to marry Liam, Maya also felt relieved and prayed she would quickly conceive a child, easing her anxieties.
"Maya, I’m sorry. I really had no choice." Liam apologized for the public proposal, knowing he had put Maya in a tough spot, but he believed it was the only way she would agree.
Listening to Liam’s apology, Maya tightly held his neck and said with a heartache, "It’s not your fault, Liam. It’s mine. I’ve been overthinking everything. It’s all my fault."
Seeing the couple whispering to each other, everyone grew impatient and started teasing them, urging them to stop, so they could all have dinner.
Listening to the banter, the two just held each other tighter, refusing to leave for dinner.
Seeing this, Asher Norton mischievously suggested, "Since Liam and Maya are so eager, why don’t we celebrate their wedding night now?"
"Hahaha, that’s a great idea," Hudson Moore quickly echoed.
Fearing they were serious, Maya immediately pushed Liam away, grabbed his hand, and headed to the dining room for the dinner.
The birthday celebration lasted until 10 PM. If they hadn’t started early in the afternoon, it might have gone on even later.
Inside the car, Liam drove, and Maya sat in the passenger seat.
Liam, holding Maya’s small hand with joy, asked, "Maya, how about we plan the wedding for October 8th? We have two months to prepare, which should be plenty of time."
Hearing Liam’s talk of wedding plans, Maya clutched his hand tighter. She took a deep breath and cautiously said, "Liam, before we get married, I want to go to the hospital for a checkup."
Finally, Maya gathered the courage to bring up the topic of getting checked for infertility.
Since the effects of her depression medication had worn off, they hadn’t been using protection, but she hadn’t gotten pregnant.
Listening to Maya mention going to the hospital, Liam’s brows furrowed, and he said unhappily, "We’ll go after the wedding. I’m not in a rush for a child right now."
Liam was worried that if they found something wrong, Maya might refuse to marry him again.
Seeing Liam reject her, Maya earnestly looked into his eyes and asked, "Liam, have you already determined that I can’t have children, and that’s why you want to wait until after the wedding?"
Liam always knew everything, was able to do everything, making Maya suspect he was already aware of her condition.
Spoilers: Maya will have a super funny baby who often drives her to tears, wishing she could put him back in her belly.
