NOVEL'S EXTRA: I Will Die at the Peak-Chapter 41: Second Entity (END)
Jiho evaluated each of the children one by one.
There were forms prepared for them on the stone table—each one simple, yet carefully drawn. Their Fate abilities were recorded in detail, categorized meticulously.
Once the registration process was complete, the children’s families were summoned to the castle one by one. Each of them was given twice the usual amount of rations.
Meanwhile, Asogi was still in Ravien’s study.
The light had shifted several times throughout the day, shadows moving across the walls, yet he hadn’t moved an inch.
Twice, he turned to the door. His hand reached out, fingers nearly touching the handle.
But both times, after a short hesitation, he pulled back and sat down where he started.
There was a distinct tension in his body, a faint pallor on his face. He sat motionless, unresponsive to any sounds from within or outside the room.
As time passed, this waiting became a kind of habit.
It had been fifty-nine hours in the room where Ravien was.
The capacity rising from the being was accumulating layer by layer. The ceiling could no longer contain the density, and the pressure began to spread downward.
The air temperature dropped every few minutes, then rose again. It was like taking a deep breath and releasing its vapor onto a cold surface.
Amid the waves of heat fluctuation, Ravien remained completely still in the same position.
Most of his body had gone numb. His muscles should’ve been aching after holding the same posture for hours; but he felt no pain.
Ravien’s rewind ability erased physical pain entirely. Any pressure on his muscles vanished within seconds, returning his body to a neutral state.
But his mind was not protected.
The silence accumulated over hours had darkened his thoughts. Memories were scattered, ideas left incomplete.
Each thought was swallowed before reaching its goal—only to begin again, endlessly.
(POV Ravien)
Shhh...
My breath grew heavy...
But at last—I did it.
I’ve completely filled the inside of the body. This entity has exceeded its limit. Now, I just... need to rest. My eyelids want to close, my mind is a constant hum. My capacity could still handle more. I could’ve endured more... but it’s over.
Before I rest... I just need to pull my hand back.
Just one move.
But my muscles won’t respond.
It’s like my body is chained to its own weight.
I pushed every muscle from my shoulder down. My other arm moved without issue—but my right hand... it was still stuck. As if buried.
Could it be...?
Right at that moment, the entity began to tremble from the overflowing energy.
Its internal structure started to change with a reaction rising from deep within.
Movements began in its internal organs; between muscle fibers, a black, dense liquid began to pool—it was a thick, sludge-like substance.
Its blood slowly turned black; the old liquid coursing through its veins had become unrecognizable.
New, unidentified tissues began forming inside the creature. Existing organs weren’t mutating—instead, entirely new structures with completely different functions were developing.
It was a conscious or instinctive process of adaptation—an evolutionary response.
---
I’m trying to cut off the capacity flow. But it won’t stop. No matter what I try—it keeps pulling. The energy inside me keeps draining—against my will, beyond my control.
Everything is being taken apart. I’m being hollowed out from within. All that’s left is an empty space.
My body no longer responds. My knees buckle, my shoulders grow heavy—I’m about to collapse.
My mind is foggy; I can’t distinguish sounds, can’t collect my thoughts.
But I don’t fall. I don’t even know why I’m holding on this hard. Maybe it’s something left over from the past. I always wanted to stay standing.
Maybe it’s just stubbornness—rooted deep inside. Because I never learned how to give up.
My eyes are open. I’m still breathing. But my mind is slowly shutting down. Quietly,
without a trace...
---
At that moment, the last remaining fragments of energy within Ravien’s body were drained. He was completely exhausted. But this wasn’t a collapse.
His body was still upright. His chest rose and fell slowly, his eyes open and unmoving. His expression hadn’t changed.
But his mind... had sunk into silence.
His consciousness was gradually shutting down.
Not into sleep—but into a kind of suspended state—a forced regeneration process.
When Ravien’s hand finally detached from the creature’s body, the energy that had been trapped inside was suddenly released. The entity’s muscle tissues trembled first—then began to unravel.
The first thing to change was its skin. The pale gray tone was replaced by a dull white surface, stone-like in texture. It was matte and smooth; it reflected no light and revealed no veins or creases.
Over time, the skin tightened in places, and black fracture-like lines emerged from underneath. Although irregular, these cracks weren’t chaotic—they seemed deliberately placed. In some areas, the blackness overtook the white entirely, darkening the surface.
From both sides of its neck, black horns began to slowly extend. Reaching up to 25 centimeters, their sharp ends curled backward, as if buried into the bone behind its head.
Wings emerged from its back. The muscle mass just below the shoulders shifted, and the skin parted—not torn, but opened—releasing two black, membrane-like structures.
Then its face began to change. Bones withdrew, some contours disappeared. The eye sockets deepened; the eyes were now almost entirely black, with a fixed crimson ring at their centers.
There was no expression in that gaze—no reaction. The lips had thinned to the point of vanishing. The nose had shrunk, reduced to a mere opening—just enough to allow air through.
Its arms were long and thin, more so than normal. The muscle fibers were taut, and the bones prominent.
Its fingers had grown abnormally long—joints spaced wider apart, thinning and sharpening toward the tips.
Its hair was white, dense, and ran from the top of the head down the back in a continuous flow. It separated into strands, but never scattered.
The feet stood flat against the ground, perfectly balancing the body’s weight. Not a piece too much, not a part too little.
When the transformation was complete, a soundless void inhaled at the heart of perfect order.
The creature didn’t move. It didn’t look much different from before—tall and slender, standing motionless with a blank expression.
Its wings were slightly extended, the horns curving upward in silence.
It slowly turned its head from side to side, as if trying to comprehend its new surroundings.
In every movement, there was an instinctual search for direction. That was when its gaze landed on Ravien, standing before it.
Ravien was upright, kneeling. His consciousness seemed somewhere else—awake, but disconnected from reality. His body was still, and his breath was so faint it was barely noticeable.
The being remained motionless for a while.
Its gaze fixed on Ravien. Studying him.
Then it slowly leaned forward. It raised its right hand, extended one finger, and touched the center of his forehead.
Something happened.
The creature’s eyes froze. It didn’t move, but something within was shifting.
Images began to appear in its mind—not just to be seen, but felt.
The first scene: the moment of birth.
A silent, calm beginning.
Then years passed. Ten, fifteen, twenty...
A blank, ordinary life with nothing remarkable.
Unchanging days.
Then one day: Ravien attempted to end his own life.
But he failed.
From that point on, the scenes accelerated.
The birth of merchant Asogi.
Unfamiliar emotions that seeped into his soul.
The villagers arriving at the castle.
The distributed rations.
The experiments on Fauriel.
And then—the creature itself.
Its moment of formation.
The first time it opened its eyes. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Everything became clear.
All memories, everything the body had ever known, now resided within the creature.
It withdrew its finger from Ravien’s forehead. Stood still for a moment.
Then slowly closed its eyes.
It was like an internal metamorphosis.
It remained in that state for a while, then opened its eyes again—
But they were no longer the same.
It straightened.
It had begun to breathe—deep, full breaths.
Its shoulders pulled slightly back.
The only sound breaking the silence was a low but clear voice from within the creature:
"So... father, huh."

In Jiho’s notebook, there are notes about certain children who possess special abilities.
Deires: Has the ability of physical enhancement.
Ellie: Can detect faint scents and mimic them. Once she smells a scent, she can emit a weak version of it.
Kristo: Can temporarily boost his physical speed.
Some of the other children also have abilities similar to Deires, involving physical enhancement or variations of it.
However, the most remarkable among them is:
Nornara – Fate Ability: Silken Touch
Nornara has the ability to directly shape any material made of silk according to the design she imagines in her mind.
With this ability, she can create silk-based objects like clothes, carpets, or curtains from scratch.
The time and energy required depend on the complexity and detail of the object. The final products are far more durable, aesthetically pleasing, and flawless compared to traditional craftsmanship.
