Novel's Extra: The Lost Heir of Dragon Queen-Chapter 77: A Private Encounter
Marcus, as usual, was engrossed in conversation with Aelina, his tone animated.
Meanwhile, Ren seemed more interested in a peculiar pastime.
"Hey, Kael," he said, nudging him. "Do you have Istagram on your phone?"
Kael blinked, clearly confused.
"What’s Istagram?" Kael asked.
The entire group froze before collectively exclaiming,
"WHAT?"
Even Aelina, who was often calm and composed, looked mildly surprised.
Marcus chuckled.
"As expected of the strongest student—too busy saving the world to know about social media." Marcus said.
Ren rolled his eyes dramatically.
"You’ve got to download it right now. I’ll show you how." Ren said.
Kael followed Ren’s instructions, downloading the app onto his phone.
The moment it loaded, Ren’s enthusiasm skyrocketed.
"Now, search for the most handsome guy in the world. That’s me!" Ren said.
Kael typed in Ren’s username and opened his profile.
The photos displayed were a mix of overly dramatic poses, flexed muscles, and captions like "A star among stars" and "The world’s finest archer."
"Pfft,"
Kael couldn’t help but laugh.
"Why are you laughing?!" Ren demanded, feigning offense. "This account is precious!"
This 𝓬ontent is taken from freeweɓnovel.cѳm.
Marcus smirked. "Yeah, precious in the sense of pure comedy gold."
"Shut up!" Ren snapped before turning back to Kael.
"Look at my followers, Kael. Two princesses—Lumia and Aveline—follow me. That’s no small feat! And I’ve got a million followers in total. You’re looking at an influencer."
Kael raised an eyebrow.
"And what do you do with all those followers?" Kael asked.
Ren puffed out his chest. "I inspire them with my greatness, obviously!"
Shirone shook his head. "I still don’t get the point of it."
"Of course, you wouldn’t!" Ren retorted.
"You and Kael live under a rock. But don’t worry, I’ll turn you both into social media stars." Ren said.
Kael sighed, closing the app.
"Hey, Kael," a voice called from behind.
The group turned to see Lumia approaching them with a confident stride.
Ren’s jaw dropped slightly, his usual bravado fading as he stared.
"Yes?" Kael asked, standing to face her.
"Can I have a word with you?" Lumia asked, her gaze steady.
Kael nodded. "Hmm, sure."
Without a second thought, he followed her as the rest of the group exchanged looks, Ren looking particularly dumbfounded.
Both Kael and Lumia walked through the academy grounds until they reached a secluded area.
Lumia stopped and turned to face him, her expression unreadable.
"What is it, Lumia?" Kael asked.
She stepped closer to him, her eyes locking with his.
Kael’s heartbeat quickened as a faint blush crept onto his cheeks.
"Kael," she said softly, her voice carrying a hint of emotion. "Thank you for saving me."
Kael stepped back slightly, caught off guard.
"It’s okay. It was my duty. Besides, you also tried to save me."
"But that’s not the only reason I called you here," Lumia said, leaning even closer. Her hand reached out and lightly rested on his chest.
Kael felt his face heat up.
"W-What is it then?" Kael asked.
"I want to become stronger," she said. "Will you help me?"
Kael blinked, confused.
"H-How can I help you?"
"It’s simple," Lumia said, leaning so close that Kael could feel her breath. "Duel with me every day."
Kael hesitated but knew he couldn’t refuse her.
"Alright," he said.
A faint smile appeared on Lumia’s face, but before she could say anything else, the sound of approaching footsteps broke the moment.
STEP-STEP
Lumia’s eyes widened, and before Kael could react, she pulled him into a corner, out of sight.
"Why are we hiding?" Kael whispered.
"You dummy, I’m the student council president," Lumia hissed. "If professor Serena sees me here, she’ll give me an earful about setting an example."
Kael peeked out to see their homeroom teacher, Serena, walking slowly through the corridor.
Lumia pressed herself closer to Kael, her body flush against his.
Kael could feel her warmth and, much to his embarrassment, something else also.
His face turned bright red.
He glanced at Lumia, who was also blushing furiously, her face resembling a ripe tomato.
Lumia’s breathing hitched as she felt something poking her belly.
She shot Kael a quick, flustered glare but said nothing, focusing on staying silent.
Serena lingered for a moment before finally walking away.
As soon as she was out of sight, Lumia released Kael and stepped back, her face still red.
"T-That was close," she stammered.
Kael, equally flustered, scratched the back of his head. "Y-Yeah."
Lumia shot him a small smirk despite her embarrassment.
"Fine, but you’d better keep your promise about those duels.". lumia said.
Kael nodded quickly, eager to move past the awkwardness.
"I will,"
As Kael and Lumia walked back toward the ceremony hall, Kael noticed something peculiar about her.
"Hey, Lumia," Kael began, his tone curious.
"Have you made a pact with any spirit yet?" kael asked.
Lumia blinked, tilting her head slightly.
"No. What’s a spirit pact?"
Kael stopped mid-step, his expression shifting to one of realization.
She doesn’t even know about spirit affinity... How can that be?
"Oh, it’s nothing," Kael replied quickly, not wanting to overwhelm her.
I’ll help her awaken her spirit affinity later.
They reached the grand hall, its ornate design buzzing with chatter and energy as students settled into their seats.
As Kael and Lumia entered, the room grew quieter, all eyes turning toward them.
Whispers rippled through the crowd, their attention clearly drawn to Kael’s presence alongside Lumia.
Kael ignored the stares, his focus on finding his team.
Lumia, however, didn’t seem to notice, walking with her usual poise.
Once inside, Kael spotted Marcus, Ren, Aelina, and Shirone seated together.
Without hesitation, he made his way to them.
Lumia, meanwhile, ascended to her position at the president’s seat.
Kael dropped into the seat next to Marcus, who leaned closer with a mischievous grin.
"Well, well, you walked in with the president. Care to share what that’s about?" Marcus teased.
Kael shot him a look.
"Nothing. She just wanted to talk." kael replied.
Ren chuckled. "Sure, nothing. Everyone in the room saw you two together. You’re making headlines, Kael."
Shirone rolled his eyes.
"Focus, you two. The ceremony’s about to start." Shirone said.
Kael sighed, glancing up at the stage where the academy’s higher-ups were preparing to address the students.
His mind, however, drifted back to Lumia’s lack of spirit affinity. I’ll make time to help her with that.
She deserves to unlock her true potential.....
