Chapter 24: Growing Strong Quickly

An explosion rang out when Leo’s fist connected with the bird, causing him to fall toward the ground. He activated Wings of the Gale and landed with a thud, but that’s when more monsters attacked.

Leo started punching the monsters, which resembled some creepy-looking bear. When his fists were connected, they were turned into meat chunks, and they all targeted him, but it was useless.

A blue glow lit up the battlefield as he started using Thunderbolt on the flying monsters that Agatha screamed, ’’Wind Hawks! Be careful, Leo.’’

Hearing that, he quickly turned around and started spamming Fireballs at the Wind Hawks that burned the creatures into ashes. Leo enjoyed killing all the monsters as he got used to leveling up and growing stronger.

As he fought, his eyes quickly scanned the chaos around them, spotting a swarm of creatures closing in. Realizing the threat, he immediately activated two Divine Spins, his movements a blur of power.

Without hesitation, he unleashed a barrage of Thunderbolts, each targeting a massive wolf-like creature, its size twice that of any normal one back on Earth, which confused him. That’s when the bolts tore through the air toward the monstrous creature.

When the spell struck the monster, it was sent flying just as the first notification popped up, causing him to smile.

[Spell - Doomwave - Divine Spin]

Leo gets excited after seeing this and waits for the next one while reading its description as the soldiers fight the monsters.

[Domewave: The caster summons a colossal, destructive wave of dark energy that ripples across the battlefield. This wave of doom emanates from the caster crashing through enemies with overwhelming force, causing massive physical damage and not harming allies]

Just as he finished reading, the following notification popped up, and his blood was boiling.

[Spell - Meteor Fist - Divine Spin]

[Meteor Fist: Channeling the fury of the heavens, the fighter concentrates their strength into a single, devastating punch that mimics the power of a falling star. With a force that cracks the very air, the punch erupts with the speed and intensity of a meteor]

When seeing this, Leo muttered with a smirk, ’’Gameover motherfuckers.’’

With that, he instantly cast Doomwave, sending out a power wave of blue mana that destroyed any monster around them and wholly shocked Roxy, Agatha, and the other. His spell wiped out the swarm with ease, but it caused Leo to grow tired.

That’s when the ground suddenly trembled. Everyone looked in the culprit’s direction and noticed a Giant approaching them with a look of fury. The soldiers panicked as Agatha screamed, ’’Retreat! We might be able to escape.’’

Leo’s gaze swept over the chaos, a disdainful huff escaping his lips, ’No time for this nonsense,’ he thought, his eyes locking on the towering monster ahead. ’This thing needs to die before it reaches us.’

Following that thought, he turned to Roxy whose eyes widened in shock, but Leo flashed her a mischievous smile while blowing her a kiss, his charm cutting through the tension like a blade before turning to Agatha.

’’Get them out of here,’’ he said, voice steady and commanding. ’’I’ll follow once I put this monster down.’’

Leo turned toward the behemoth with a smirk, energy crackling around him like a storm. His body surged with power as he dashed forward, the ground trembling beneath each step. He prepared to unleash Meteor Fist as the Giant loomed ahead, its massive form casting a dark shadow, but Leo wasn’t deterred.

With a burst of speed, he leaped high into the air, his eyes locked onto his target. His fist collided with the monster’s face with a loud crack, the impact sending shockwaves through the battlefield.

A thunderous clap rang out, and the air seemed to warp with the force of the blow, leaving the Giant reeling. Leo watched as the creature stumbled backward before crashing into the ground below.

Still, he followed up the Meteor Fist with a California Smash, causing the surrounding landscape to glow blue as he hit the Giant. The shockwave sent Leo flying across the land until hitting a nearby mountain and was buried by a landslide.

He was knocked unconscious as a stone slammed into the side of his head, but other than that, he was okay. Thanks to those two spells, the Giant was dead, and the swarm of monsters was eliminated, allowing the others to escape.

While unconscious, he had leveled up, which caused his body to heal and his head to clear, but he stayed unconscious. Hours passed, and he finally woke up with a raging headache, but a notification flashed.

[Level Up: 15>25]

’Ten levels?’ Leo mused while shaking his head. ’That’s good, but I must catch up with the others.’

After that, he lay down while he brought up his status to see how he had progressed.

’Oh nice, it seems like I’m growing stronger quickly, but why did the goddess make me so OP?’ Leo mused but soon shrugged.

He dug himself out until the cold night air brushed against his skin, causing him to let out a relaxed sigh. Following that, he climbed out before going toward the battlefield to find any signs of the group.

Twenty minutes later, Leo reached the cave where they were staying and noticed hundreds of monster bodies. With a greedy chuckle, he collected all of them while throwing them into his storage to sell them back to the city.

Once everything was stored away, Leo saw the group’s tracks leading west and started following them. He admired the wilderness around him while traveling with a few monsters he recognized, thanks to Roxy’s descriptions. frёewebnoѵēl.com

There were goblins, wolves, and forest walkers who looked like creepy humanoids who tried to ambush Leo from the darkness, but thanks to his magic and strength, the monsters didn’t trouble him.

The night stretched on for hours, causing Leo to use Fireball as a light source. His stomach rumbled while traveling through the forest, but something told him to buy an uncommon spin, which baffled him.

Leo shrugged, bought five spins, and settled onto a log by a quiet lake deep within the trees. The stillness around him felt soothing, and there was no sense of monsters around, allowing him to relax.
