On Our Wedding Day My Husband Announced His First Love Online-Chapter 133: Nia, Mom Has Finally Found You
Theodore Grant was injured because of me, after all. It was only right that I go and see him.
Sebastian Forrest didn’t feel comfortable letting me go alone, so he helped me over.
"Chelsea..."
Seeing me come in, Theodore Grant, who had been lying in bed, propped himself up, trying to sit.
I quickly said, "Don’t move. You’re still injured."
Theodore Grant gave a weak smile. "It’s a minor injury, nothing serious."
I couldn’t help but press my lips together. ’This was no minor injury.’
I had watched with my own eyes as Clara Langley plunged the dagger into Theodore Grant’s body, his white shirt stained red...
If Sebastian Forrest hadn’t arrived so quickly and gotten Theodore Grant to the hospital in time, he probably would have bled to death.
"Don’t worry, I’m fine." Theodore Grant smiled at me. "As long as I could save you, it would have been worth it even if I had died."
I really didn’t know how to respond to that, so I could only change the subject. "How... how did you know Clara Langley had kidnapped me?"
"I was just passing by and saw you were in trouble, so I followed you."
The reason was perfectly logical, with no obvious flaws. It’s just...
"Why didn’t you call the police?" I pressed.
He’d dared to come rescue me all by himself. If Sebastian Forrest hadn’t arrived in time, Clara Langley would have probably thrown both of us into that cement mixer to be ground into a pulp!
"I did call the police." Theodore Grant chuckled lightly. "How could I possibly try to save you all alone with something this serious..."
I instinctively turned my head to look at Sebastian Forrest.
But Sebastian Forrest just quirked his lips. "What a coincidence."
Theodore Grant’s brow twitched slightly, but he said nothing. For a moment, the atmosphere in the room grew tense.
Just then, the door to the hospital room was suddenly pushed open. I instinctively turned and saw Hailey Langley rushing in.
She paused for a second when she saw Sebastian Forrest and me, then hurried to Theodore Grant’s side. With a face full of concern, she asked, "Son, where are you hurt? Does it hurt?"
"I’m fine." Theodore Grant shook his head, comforting her with a smile.
"That bitch Clara Langley, how dare she hurt you! I’ll have her flayed alive!" Hailey Langley cursed viciously, her heart aching for her son.
Seeing the intense mother-son moment, I knew I shouldn’t intrude. "Well... you should get some rest. I’ll come see you another day."
Theodore Grant smiled at me. "Okay."
...
Once we were out of the room, Sebastian Forrest helped me into the elevator. Then, he took out his phone and made a call.
"Hello, Captain Tate? Could you do me a favor and check today’s call logs? Was there a report from a Theodore Grant?"
I instinctively turned my head to look at him.
Only to see he had already hung up.
"You still suspect Theodore Grant?" I asked, a little confused.
It wasn’t that I didn’t trust Sebastian Forrest; I just didn’t understand.
I had personally experienced everything that happened today. The danger had been absolutely terrifying.
No normal person would try to plot something in a situation like this...
’A self-inflicted injury to win my trust?’
’If so, the price Theodore Grant paid was far too high.’
"Yes." Sebastian Forrest didn’t hide it, his eyes turning cold. "I never trusted him in the first place."
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, but I didn’t say anything more.
This was between Theodore Grant and Sebastian Forrest, after all. It wasn’t my place to interfere.

Just then, the elevator doors opened.
Sebastian Forrest helped me limp out of the elevator.
When we reached the hospital lobby, Sebastian Forrest said in a low voice, "How about I carry you to the car?"
I quickly waved my hands. "No, it’s fine. You can just help me walk..."
Sebastian Forrest chuckled. "No need to be embarrassed. If anything, I’m the one taking advantage..."
I never expected him to be so blunt. Just as I was wondering how to respond, I saw Sebastian Forrest’s smile fade. He tugged my arm, pulling me back. "Watch out!"
Caught off guard, I stumbled into Sebastian Forrest’s arms. Before I could even regain my balance, someone grabbed my wrist. "Nia, Mommy’s finally found you! Where have you been all these years?"
I stared in astonishment at the woman before me. Her skin was fair and her features elegant, but her eyes seemed unfocused...
"Aunt Miller?" Sebastian Forrest clearly recognized her and frowned. "What are you doing here?"
"Mrs. Miller..."
Just then, a middle-aged woman ran over, panting. She quickly apologized to Sebastian Forrest. "Master Forrest, I’m so sorry. Mrs. Miller is having an episode again. Thank goodness you stopped her..."
Sebastian Forrest waved his hand. "Enough of that. Just take good care of Aunt Miller."
"Yes..." The woman nodded repeatedly, then tried to help Mrs. Miller up. "Mrs. Miller, let’s go. The young master is waiting for you..."
"No, I’m not leaving! No one can separate me from my Nia..." Mrs. Miller clung to my arm, her body trembling slightly, as if afraid someone would tear me away from her.
This put me in an awkward position.
’But it was such a rare moment of warmth... I found myself even craving her embrace...’
It felt just like when my own mother held me.
"Mom..."
Just as we were at a stalemate, Jude Miller came running over. He had just noticed us and said in surprise, "Master Forrest? Miss Joyce? What are you two doing here?"
Sebastian Forrest waved a hand, not wanting to get into a long explanation. He gestured toward Mrs. Miller. "What’s going on with Aunt Miller? She’s holding onto Chelsea and won’t let go..."
Jude Miller sighed softly. "She probably thinks Joyce is my little sister..."
I subconsciously looked up. Thinking of how Mrs. Miller had called me ’Nia,’ my heart ached for some reason.
I’d heard Sebastian Forrest mention before that Jude Miller had a little sister, but she was kidnapped at the age of three and disappeared...
For years, Jude Miller had searched far and wide for her, but there was never any news.
One can only imagine what a devastating blow that must have been for a mother!
"I’m fine..." I quickly shook my head. "Why don’t I go with your mom to her check-up?"
Jude Miller gave a wry smile. "Thank you for the kind offer, Miss Joyce, but there’s no need..."
"Really, it’s no trouble..." I subconsciously started to say more, but just then, I suddenly felt the grip on my arm loosen—
With swift reflexes, Jude Miller caught Mrs. Miller. A bitter look crossed his face. "My mom’s like this when she has an episode. It usually doesn’t last long..."
I couldn’t help but look worriedly at Mrs. Miller’s pale, haggard face. "So... is Mrs. Miller going to be all right?"
Jude Miller shook his head. "Don’t worry. She’ll be fine after some sleep."
"That’s good." I finally relaxed. "Dr. Miller, you should hurry and get Aunt Miller to rest."
"Okay. We’ll talk another time, then."
After watching Jude Miller leave, I stood there staring at their backs, unable to snap out of it for a long time. For some reason, my heart felt empty, as if I had lost something...
