One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 664 - 661: This is Impossible!
This was sheer domination! An outright display of overwhelming power from top to bottom.
Whether one was a Golden Seat from the Alchemy Workshop or one of the six sages of the Wizard Alliance, no one could resist this kind of assault.
What could they possibly do against these fearless undead soldiers?
These Death Knights had transcended conventional methods of attack, exceeding all comprehension.
The enemy's desecration of the dead was astounding. The slowly advancing army seemed to have no objection to such inhumane methods, executing their orders with chilling efficiency.
Kuyi Tulan was very interested in the enemy's army. Although they were at a disadvantage, for some reason, he always felt they would ultimately be victorious. He hoped to gain something from this war; he had never imagined they would lose here.
His confidence baffled the others. They were desperately resisting the onslaught, and it seemed they were about to be crushed into oblivion...
Does Kuyi Tulan have an ace up his sleeve? Or is he confident he can evade this attack? the others wondered.
The others lacked the energy to ponder Kuyi Tulan's composure; they were too busy dealing with the immediate threat.
Now, without a miracle, they would be wiped out by the Death Knights' onslaught.
There was no need for the distant troops to encircle them; dealing with these Death Knights alone was more than enough.
Where does Kuyi Tulan's inexplicable self-confidence come from? It was a perplexing question.
The dismembered Death Knights kept attacking relentlessly. Fortunately, they were all battle-hardened soldiers. Had they been new recruits, they would likely have fled in terror at the sight.
Both Simon and Kuren resisted in their own ways, but no one could completely resolve the current predicament.
At this moment, Kuren found himself missing Kadi. That brash fellow would definitely have figured out a way to disrupt the enemy's offensive rhythm.
But then again, isn't this the Inner World I created? How did it end up like this? Can't I, as its creator, exert any influence at all? Kuren lamented internally.
Now, he had to embody a relentless slaughterer, madly hacking at the Death Knights. One fell, only for another to take its place. It was endless.
He yearned to communicate with Yuga again, or even Stan Sol. As long as they could communicate, a solution could be found.
Seeing Kuyi Tulan's inexplicable confidence only deepened his confusion. Everything is happening so bizarrely. How could things have escalated to this state of utter helplessness? And Kadi, what happened to him? Isn't all of this built upon his Fire Tree Silver Flower? Has he been attacked too?
The more Kuren pondered, the more absurd it all seemed. Then he realized something: although they appeared to be fighting the enemy's army together, in reality, each of them was fighting alone.
They were all fighting for themselves. It was understandable that they couldn't form a proper formation given their numbers, even though doing so could have created a coordinated effect. However, that would require intricate coordination, not something achievable in the heat of battle.
Furthermore, there was no teamwork in their resistance, and that was crucial. The monsters from Guru Mountain should have been perfectly synchronized. For instance, when Kevin and Arnold teamed up, they could strike like phantoms, appearing and disappearing unpredictably. While they might not be able to assassinate the enemy commander from afar, they certainly had the potential to disrupt the enemy's offensive.
Yet now, Kevin was still methodically hacking away at the Death Knights, one by one, with his blade.
They seemed to be isolated once more. Yes, even though they were all in the same place, resisting together, they couldn't communicate.
This was a fatal flaw in their defense.
Previously, they had been unable to communicate because the enemy had isolated them in confined spaces, rendering them invisible to one another. They had battled alone for quite some time.
Now, after Igor and Kadi's interference had finally created an opportunity for them to connect, it was baffling to find themselves in this state again.
This is utterly unbelievable! Where on earth could those two young men have gone?
It's truly absurd. They, the seniors who should have been protecting those boys, were now pinning their hopes on those same boys to rescue them. How utterly humiliating if word of this got out! But what good was dignity to them now? Could dignity help them escape their current plight? People could be so foolish sometimes, on the verge of losing what mattered most, yet still preoccupied with such trivialities.
Regardless, they had run out of ways to break free from their current predicament.
This was rather incredible.
The enemy's mysterious power had already surpassed mere strength. It had demonstrated a unique characteristic when it devoured the Dark Wizard Reed, implying that this entity tolerated no existence but its own.
It wouldn't tolerate the existence of others; it wanted to devour everyone, just as it had devoured the Dark Wizard Reed.
What Kuren couldn't comprehend was why something he created in his Inner World could be usurped by another. He wasn't saying his Inner World was controlled by the enemy; after all, he had created it within the adversary's larger domain, so ultimate control wasn't his. What confounded him, however, was how Kuyi Tulan could act with such impunity within Kuren's own Inner World.
This defied all logic. It shouldn't be possible.
Yet now, he could only contemplate this alone, as they were all preoccupied with the horde of dark Death Knights.
They had to deal with these knights, leaving no opportunity to communicate with anyone.
It was an awkward situation. Perhaps this was precisely the controller's true intention.
The more desperate the situation, the clearer the truth becomes. Perhaps this is the sudden enlightenment that comes at the very end. To understand how one arrived at the threshold of the Eternal Tranquility Realm, to see one's journey clearly before departing—perhaps that wasn't so bad after all.
Kuren still couldn't understand why this powerful opponent insisted on preventing their communication. Was it merely for amusement? If the enemy could conjure tens of thousands of troops, why not simply crush them in one decisive blow? Perhaps it was the mentality of a cat toying with a mouse. To thoroughly amuse oneself with one's prey—that was likely the enemy's true objective.
"No, that's not it!"
How is this possible! was Kuren's first reaction.
