One Night Stand With Alexander Blackwood-Chapter 81 — Eighty-one
Alexander’s eyes narrowed as he glanced at his Grandfather. "How did you know about that?"
Elias laughed seeing Alexander’s expression crack. "It’s rare for your expression to crack. And as for how I know about you and Serena... you don’t need to know."
"I’m not breaking up with her. I love her, and no one can force me to leave her." Alexander declared firmly, placing his cup on the table, and meeting Elias’s gaze.
Elias chuckled and nodded satisfactorily. "I never asked you to break up with her. In fact, I want to urge you to marry her. I’m satisfied with her as a granddaughter-in-law, unlike those selfish heiresses."
Alexander’s brows lifted as he listened to his grandfather. "You agree with my relationship?"
Elias nodded, then his eyes darkened. "I don’t want to make the same mistake I made with your dad. Although we seem to have a good relationship on the surface, it’s all a farce."
Alexander’s ears perked up as he sat up straight. "What do you mean the same mistake made with my dad?"
Elias rubbed his eyes and began explaining. "Your dad had a woman he loved for a long time." He paused and let out a huge sigh. "But I didn’t let him get married to her because I was greedy for more wealth."
He studied Alexander’s expression. "It’s funny how you look a bit like her. Or maybe I’m mistaken."
Alexander was quiet for a while as he continued listening to his grandfather.
"My refusal caused a strain in your father’s and mine relationship and it only worsened after he married your mother. We just patched things up a few years ago."
Alexander nodded. "Can you kindly tell me the woman’s name?"
Elias nodded, leaned in, then whispered.

By the time Alexander and Elias were finished, the former had a complicated expression.
"Make sure you take your medication on time." Alexander instructed. I’d ask from the butler." He added when he saw Elias about to protest.
"What do you want me to do? They are too bitter." Elias whined.
"It’s for your benefit. And quit acting like a child. Grandma is not here."
Elias coughed. "Can’t you give this old man a bit of face?"
Alexander rolled his eyes as he closed the car’s door. He walked around, gave specific instructions to the driver. A few seconds later, the car drove off.
Alexander’s lips dropped as he brought out his phone.
He dialed a number and it connected instantly. "Help me investigate someone."
Once he removed his phone from his ear, his eyes flashed. He wanted to get to the bottom of what happened over twenty years ago.

Alexander drove to Blackwood Industries. As soon as he exited the car, he was stopped by Rhea.
Turns out she never left the building. She told her manager that she didn’t care how long she had to wait, but she wanted to see Alexander.
Fortunately, her waiting paid off and now... she was standing in front of Alexander.
Alexander, on the other hand, instinctively scrunched his face when he saw her.
Coldly, he asked. "What are you doing here?"
"Do you hate me that much?" Rhea asked, her gaze searching his. Her eyes were filled with unshed tears. Any man would be moved by her expression and would ultimately feel pity for her. Any man except Alexander Blackwood.
Alexander placed one hand in his pocket. "Miss. Rhea, I’ve told you countless times that hatred is an emotion. Why would I hate you when I have no emotion towards you?" His brows were lifted as he stared at her. He wondered if all her degrees were only for show and if she couldn’t reason properly.
"You’ve said it, but I don’t believe you." Rhea shook her head. "You still have feelings for me. I know I was wrong. I know I was wrong to leave you, that’s why you are doing this. Alex, why?" This time, tears rolled down from her eyes.
Alexander wasn’t moved. In fact, he sneered. "Who told you it was my doing? I merely gave a little push. You’ve offended a lot of people. Think, Rhea, Think."
Rhea’s expression changed, the tears froze on her face. "Y-you didn’t do this?" She stuttered. Alexander shook his head in response. "You didn’t take revenge on behalf of Serena?" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Like I said, I only gave a little push. And do you think I’d let you go after hurting Serena?" He scoffed. "Think again."
Rhea took a step back in disbelief, her entire body trembling.
Alexander, on the other hand, took a step forward. He leaned in and whispered into her ears. "It’s not my fault you’ve hurt and offended a lot of people who are waiting to see you fall. I only gave them the resources they needed."
He paused, and grinned widely. Seeing the grin on his lips, Rhea’s entire body turned cold. "I won’t dirty my hands just to deal with you neither would I let the woman I love do the same."
He stopped back, offered her a smile and was about to walk into the huge building when she stopped him with her words.
"Three years, Alexander. Three years. Did those years together mean nothing to you at all?" Rhea demanded, her lips trembling.
"At a point, they used to mean a lot." Alexander replied honestly. "But I’d have to say a big thank you to you. You leaving made me find true love."
Without waiting for her reply, he walked straight into the building, not sparing her one final glance.
Rhea fell on one knee, her entire body trembling. Her manager rushed to her side, and pulled her into his arms.
"I shouldn’t have left him. I shouldn’t have broken up with him. All of these should have been mine." She repeated, bawling her eyes out.
Her manager looked at the battered Rhea and shook his head. Three years ago, she left Alexander to chase fame. Three years later, Alexander destroyed all that she had.
He thought to himself, after everything, was it worth it?
