Chapter 386: Chapter 386: The Dragon’s Submission – Wano Falls to the Black Crow

"Gurgle..."

"Is this the strength of Kaido? So terrifying."

Kuri.

A little girl with emerald green hair stood on a hill, accompanied by Kawamatsu. They gazed at the port from afar where the battle raged. Even at this distance, the sounds of Mio and Kaido’s clash shook the entire Kuri region.

The tremors felt like earthquakes, knocking people off their feet. Dust clouds constantly rose from the battleground, and the terrible force of each collision sent shockwaves rippling through the land.

"We can’t go any further, Miss," Kawamatsu said grimly. "If we approach any closer, I won’t be able to guarantee your safety."

"I understand." The girl nodded, her eyes fixed on Mio as he clashed against Kaido. "Kawamatsu, who is that man fighting Kaido?"

Although Mio’s name carried weight across the seas, Wano remained isolated, and few in the country knew of him.

"That, Miss, is the king of the sea," Kawamatsu replied urgently. "More feared than Kaido himself—the King of Pirates, the ruler of the New World, and the captain of the Black Crow Pirates: Kurokawa Mio."

"I didn’t expect the Black Crow Pirates to attack Wano. They must have come for our country’s seastone."

Kawamatsu had long wanted to smuggle his charge out of Wano. With her identity too dangerous to reveal, he kept up with the world’s affairs carefully.

The Black Crow.

King of the New World.

King of Pirates.

As he watched Mio force Kaido to cough blood with a single strike, a mixture of shock and envy flickered in Kawamatsu’s eyes.

If only I had this kind of strength... Wano would not have fallen to Kaido’s tyranny.

"Kawamatsu, do you think he can defeat Kaido?" the girl—Kozuki Hiyori—asked with hope. "And if he does... will he rule Wano with violence like Kaido?"

Hiyori was the daughter of Kozuki Oden, the rightful heir to Wano. Her father, the original daimyo of Kuri, had been betrayed and murdered by Kaido and Kurozumi Orochi.

Though Wano hadn’t yet been utterly ruined under their rule, signs of tyranny were everywhere—the prisoner camps, the people enslaved, the profits funneled to Kaido.

"If it’s him..." Kawamatsu hesitated. "Mio might defeat Kaido. But he’s still a pirate, Miss. Even if he has a good reputation in Fishman Island, there’s a chance Wano will remain a tool for making money."

"Miss, we should leave Wano now. This place is far too dangerous."

"No." Hiyori shook her head, her expression firm. "I want to stay. I want to see what happens."

At sea.

Across the New World, the news of Wano’s war spread like wildfire.

Seagulls carrying Den Den Mushi circled high above, broadcasting the images of Mio battling Kaido. Though they stayed far from the battlefield—the shockwaves could kill them otherwise—they delivered a terrifying sight to the world.

"The Black Crow Pirates are too strong..."

"At this rate, Kaido will lose, and his Beasts Pirates will be crushed."

"The seastone of Wano... Kaido used to control it, but now the pie’s about to change hands."

"Prepare tribute for the Black Crow. If they win, we must secure their favor. Even a sip of that seastone profit could make us rich."

"Kaido... the last of Rocks’ crew still standing. But maybe not for long."

"Good riddance. He’s been disrupting trade routes for years."

Cake Island’s waters.

Big Mom’s fleet, sailing to support Kaido, suddenly halted.

Ahead of them loomed a colossal ship, and on its deck stood a burly figure crackling with thunder.

"Qiongqi," Big Mom growled, "are you going to stop me?"

"Linlin," Qiongqi replied calmly. "You will not set foot in Wano. Turn back now, and I’ll let you go."

"I’m an emperor of the sea! You think you can stop me?!" Big Mom roared. "Move, or I’ll crush you here and now. I’ll pay double whatever Mio promised you."

"You can’t afford it." Qiongqi’s voice was cold.

Lightning danced across his body as he stepped forward. The sea beneath his feet froze instantly, stretching for miles and locking Big Mom’s fleet in place.

"Damn you..."

Big Mom raised her hand. "Zeus, Prometheus—ATTACK!"

Flames and lightning hurtled toward Qiongqi. But he didn’t flinch.

Catching the thunder in his bare hand, he crushed it with ease. "Linlin," Qiongqi said, grinning. "Since you insist, let’s fight."

Wano Country.

The battle between Mio and Kaido raged on.

Each clash of their fists shattered the earth. Mountains cracked. Entire forests burned.

Boom!

A devastating strike sent both men flying backward.

"You’ll lose, Kaido," Mio’s voice cut through the air.

"Compromise."

Kaido wiped the blood from his mouth, his glare sharp as a blade. "You... want to start a world-class war?"

"That’s right." Mio’s eyes glimmered coldly. "This world belongs to me—not the Celestial Dragons. Marijoa’s throne should be mine."

Kaido grinned wildly. "Interesting... and what’s in it for me?"

"What do you want?" Mio shot back, their blows still trading like thunderclaps.

"Power. Battle. And when the time comes, I want to fight you again at your strongest."

"Fine," Mio agreed. "But you’ll never beat me."

"Don’t be so sure."

The next moment, Mio struck Kaido with a flurry of blows. Kaido’s body slammed into the ground, leaving a massive crater.

Around them, the Beasts Pirates were being overwhelmed. Strange fighters allied with the Black Crow dominated the battlefield—Revolutionaries hidden in plain sight and monstrous warriors crushing Kaido’s ranks.

Kaido’s eyes widened slightly at the sight.

"The Revolutionary Army... you’re playing a dangerous game, Black Crow."

"Do I look afraid?" Mio’s punch silenced Kaido’s retort.

Kaido coughed blood but still laughed. "Fine. I’ll step aside. Wano is yours... for now. But when the time comes, I’ll take it back with my own hands."

Kaido stood, transforming into his colossal dragon form.

"My men! Gather your things. We’re leaving Wano. This land belongs to the Black Crow now!"

Victory.

Mio’s voice rang across the battlefield.

"Plant the flag of the Black Crows! Wano Country is ours now! Kill anyone who dares oppose us!"

The Beasts Pirates withdrew. The Black Crow Pirates erupted in cheers.

And far above, Mio and Kaido exchanged a final glance.

Their secret deal remained hidden from the world.

All the world saw was Kaido’s defeat... and Mio’s unstoppable rise.
