One Piece: I am Imu-Chapter 275: Meeting With Imu
Chapter 275 - 275: Meeting With Imu
It hadn't been long since he had consumed the Devil Fruit, and Longinus could already feel his body rapidly heating up. As the temperature rose, his skin began to emit a faint reddish glow.
Soon, dense, shiny reddish scales began to form, reflecting a faint orange glow.
It wasn't long before golden, slightly curved horns sprouted from his forehead. His fingers lengthened and ended in sharp claws. A scarlet tail emerged from his lower back, and dark, spiny wings momentarily unfurled from his back before contracting.
"This power..."
With a body that had grown to over three meters tall, Longinus could clearly feel the overwhelming strength flowing throughout his being.
"Enough! If you keep this up, you will destroy my office. Later you can test your powers in the open air." The director said, looking disapprovingly at the white carpet, now destroyed and covered in black marks.
"Yes."
Longinus immediately withdrew the power of the fruit. His body began to rapidly shrink back to its normal size in a matter of seconds.
"Your second graduation reward is this."
The director walked to the wall, where he took down a long sword in a red scabbard and handed it to Longinus.
"It is a weapon that the Cipher Pol found in the ruins of an ancient sarcophagus on Asuka Island, in the first section of the Grand Line. This cursed sword has been sealed for over a thousand years."
Updat𝓮d from frёewebnoѵēl.com.
"According to the records of the Historical Research Department, this sword, known as Shichiseiken, was the symbol of royal power of the ancient kingdom of Asuka."
"After numerous tests conducted by the Academy of Sciences, we have determined the capabilities of the Shichiseiken."
"First, the sword absorbs human blood, allowing the wielder to recover wounds and physical energy, while also recharging the sword with a spectral green energy."
"This green energy has two main uses."
"The first is to make the blade emit a green glow. Anyone whose vision is caught in that glow, if not strong enough in will, can fall under the control of the sword wielder, displaying red eyes as evidence of subjugation."
"The second use is to concentrate that energy into a high-temperature green flame when brandishing the sword. These flames have a corrosive and poisonous effect on living beings, as well as exacerbating anger in their targets."
"Lastly, the sword can be integrated with the wielder's body, granting them the ability to freely control both the green glow and the flames, and even allowing them to summon the sword directly from the palm of their hand."
"Does that mean that whoever possesses this cursed sword can have abilities similar to those of a devil fruit?" Longinus asked, astonished.
"More or less," the Director replied, but immediately added: "However, these extraordinary abilities carry great danger for the wielder."
"It first affects the user's emotions, and then controls their consciousness, turning them into a bloodthirsty slave to the sword."
Longinus, not caring much about the dangers of the sword, without hesitation, grabbed the scabbard and firmly unsheathed the blade, revealing a silver edge adorned with supernatural patterns that emitted an eerie green light.
[Buzz————]
At that instant, a spiritual energy imbued with killing intent flowed from the sword into Longinus' mind, causing his eyes to glow a piercing red.
He realized that he had underestimated the sword. The mental strength contained within it was like waves of bloody water, pounding against his mental strength relentlessly.
However, while Longinus struggled internally, the Direct remained motionless, watching indifferently.
After a moment, a burst of energy was unleashed from Longinus' body, accompanied by dark red lightning.
"Haha, not bad."
The Director smiled calmly, unaffected by the manifestation of Longinus' Haoshoku Haki.
Soon after, the red light in Longinus' eyes disappeared, and the sword in his hand trembled, emitting what sounded like a wailing cry.
The Director then watched as the Shichiseiken gently entered Longinus' body along the palm of his right hand.
"It seems you have managed to control the sword."
"Yes, but the cursed sword spirit is weak. It seems... hungry." Longinus stared at his palm.
"Hungry? That won't be a problem." The Headmaster said, smiling. "When your Haki is stronger and you can fully control the sword, I will request permission to take you to Impel Down. There you will find high-quality blood."
The Director continued: "Now, your third reward is that you will travel to another place, or rather, another world to meet Lord Imu."
...
World of the Titans, Noah's Ark, Imu Office.
[Knock, knock, knock]
At that moment, there was a knock at the office door. Imu gave permission to enter, and Stussy appeared with a report in his hand.
"Lord Imu, this year's outstanding graduate of the Celestial Palace Academy, Cassius Longinus, has already arrived at the deck of the Ark. Where do you wish to receive him?" Stussy asked in a respectful tone.
"Bring him to the guest hall."
That was the place where he had first welcomed Esdeath. If after he used his Kenbunshoku Haki to check his true intentions and proved to be up to his expectations, he would treat him similarly to how he did with Mihawk.
"Understood!"
However, before he left, Stussy placed a report on Imu's desk.
"Lord Imu, the Biochemical Research Institute reported that their research on the Shining centipede of the Titan World has been basically completed."
Imu looked up, showing interest. "Continue."
"The report includes both the Shining centipede found on Eren Yeager's body and the four specimens that were found later."
Stussy continued: "According to Dr. Fritz's findings, the Shining Centipedes have the ability to grant non-Eldian humans the ability to transform into Titans. However, if any of these anomalies die, the affected individuals, as well as their descendants, will suffer a genetic collapse that will transform them into a pool of blood and tissue."
Stussy looked up to make sure Imu was still paying attention before continuing: "Following this same logic, if the original Shining Centipede is eliminated, it is very likely that all Eldians will experience the same fate."
When Stussy finished narrating the report from the Biochemical Research Institute, Imu was surprised, then he began to think about what to do with the Shining Centipedes, while Stussy waited silently in front of the desk.
...
Meanwhile, Longinus headed to the guest hall under the respectful guidance of the Chief Administrator.
Ever since he had boarded Noah's Ark, Longinus had been in a constant state of wonder. From the gigantic golden tower to the ancient dragons that soared through the sky, to the feathered serpent capable of transforming into a blue-skinned human. Even the Kung-Fu Dugong, the Humandrills, among other animals capable of fighting and even using Haki. They seemed to be playing amongst themselves, displaying speeds and strengths that rivaled those of the academy's instructors.
Although he was a Celestial Dragon, he was still a young man who had lived fifteen years in the Domain of the Gods in Mary Geoise and another three studying at the Celestial Palace Academy. Everything was completely new to him.
Every detail on Noah's Ark reinforced Imu's supremacy in his mind, making him understand how abysmal the difference was between him and ordinary Celestial Dragons.
Suddenly, a deafening crash interrupted his thoughts. Longinus looked up at the source of the sound, observing what appeared to be a plaza in the distance.
There, a Giant clad in golden armor and wielding a shield and sword unleashed endless lightning as he battled a small, fast-moving humanoid figure dressed in pink.
Each clash between the two generated shock waves that spread out in all directions, transforming into a strong wind that hit Longinus' face.
"Who is that person?" He asked instinctively, stopping.
"In answer to your question, Lord Longinus, that is Saint Doflamingo of the Donquixote Dynasty. He is currently undergoing routine training with the Storm Giant, Lord Dorry." The Chief Administrator replied deferentially.
"Doflamingo?" Longinus observed that the young man seemed to be close to his own age, which raised a doubt within him.
...
In the guest hall, Imu was leaning on a sofa, silently reading a book.
"Lord Imu, Saint Longinus is waiting outside the hall." Ubuyashiki Kanata announced quietly.
"Well, let him in."
"Understood."
Kanata turned around and left, soon returning accompanied by a young red-haired boy about 1.80 meters tall, with a long sword in a red sheath.
Imu raised her gaze slightly.
His eyes settled serenely on the trembling eyes of Longinus.
"Cassius Longinus, pay respects to the King of the Heavenly Dragons, Lord Imu!"
Longinus knelt on one knee with his head bowed in respect and veneration.
"Hehehe, get up. We're both Celestial Dragons. We're family. Sit down, let's talk for a while."
Imu's voice contained a slight softness.
"Yes, Lord Imu!" Longinus replied, relieved to see Imu's kindness. His tension faded a little.
He stood up and sat respectfully in an individual chair.
"Red hair, blue eyes, extraordinary swordsmanship, a sharp gaze... You are very similar to the ancient King Cassius."
Imu spoke in a melancholic and meaningful tone.
Longinus was stunned, and asked hesitantly: "Lord Imu, do you remember the founding kings of our Celestial Dragons Dynasties? Were they very powerful?"
"Of course I remember them. Every time I see those twenty weapons in the Empty Hall, their images come to my mind." Imu replied, smiling slightly.
"And about their power, of course they were extremely strong. Otherwise, they would not have been able to defeat the invaders who came from outer space."
"Nowadays, it would be said that each of them had the strength of the pinnacle of a general."
Longinus was shocked when he heard this.
That meant that in the past, Imu had been followed by twenty powerful generals. And the invaders from outer space they fought, would they have also had similar forces? How epic would the great battle 900 years ago have been?
"You're not wrong. In that war, the forces involved totaled around 60 people with the power of a general." Imu commented casually, while Longinus felt a chill run through his body.
60 generals!? At present, they barely numbered 15. But Longinus instantly realized that Imu seemed to know what he was thinking.
Imu said softly: "Don't worry. I can hear your thoughts. Don't be nervous, you'll get used to it."
"Yes!" Longinus replied, now visibly more tense, afraid that his thoughts might disturb Imu.
"60 powerful general-level warriors, and in the end, only five of us survived, including me." Imu continued.
Longinus was in shock.
"That's right. We are the original five elders of the World Government."
"They later died naturally. I decided to retire, handing over power to the next generation." He added before falling silent, as if he didn't want to delve further into the subject.
"And now, I have called you not only to see you, but to teach you for a month. This is your third graduation award. How much you can learn will depend on your ability." Imu finished with a slight smile.
