Chapter 32 - Incredibly Delicious, A Must-Try
Time passed gradually.
The group spent three joyful days together.
By the morning of the fourth day, the banquet was still in full swing.
Meanwhile, the nearby human villages, which had also suffered under the rule and oppression of the Fish-Men, began to take notice. Upon confirming that the Fish-Men had truly been eradicated, they willingly joined the celebrations.
Every single person expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Will.
Many even took out the last of their savings, hoping to offer them as a token of appreciation.
Will accepted their gratitude with a smile but politely declined their money.
After all, he had already acquired a great deal of treasure from Arlong Park.
That was his rightful spoils of war.
By midday, the banquet was in full swing once again.
Will, Nami, and the others sat around a dining table in the village, enjoying an array of delicious dishes.
At that moment, Will turned his attention to a freshly served plate of steamed fish. Taking a piece, he placed it in his mouth to taste.
The instant he took a bite—
His eyes lit up, and he immediately picked up the plate and passed it to Nami and the others, earnestly saying, "This dish is incredible. The flavor is exquisite—you have to try it."
Seeing Will speak so highly of it, Nami, Karina, and the others curiously took a bite.
Moments later, their eyes lit up as well, nodding repeatedly in agreement.
Indeed, the fish was extraordinarily delicious.
The group continued to eat and drink in a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere.
Sitting next to Will, Genzo had already turned red from drinking too much.
Suddenly—
Genzo turned to Will, his face flushed with alcohol, and solemnly said:
"Will, I'm entrusting Nami to you from now on."
"You must never let her get hurt or cry again, or I won't let you off so easily!"
"Genzo!"
Nami's face instantly turned red upon hearing this, flustered as she tried to interrupt. "What are you even saying?!"
Will was momentarily stunned but then grew serious, nodding as he replied:
The sourc𝗲 of this content is freēwēbηovel.c૦m.
"Rest assured, no one will harm her as long as I'm around."
Genzo nodded in satisfaction. "That's good."
Across the table, Nojiko rested her chin on one hand, watching the two men with an amused smile. "How interesting."
"Genzo really does look like an overprotective father," Karina teased Nami.
"You two as well..." Nami sighed helplessly.
Laughter and chatter filled the table.
After finishing lunch, the banquet gradually neared its end.
Not long after—
Nami disappeared to who knows where, nowhere to be found.
With some free time on his hands, Will returned to the ship with Karina.
They continued organizing the treasure and loot obtained from Arlong Park, along with the generous supplies of food and alcohol gifted by the villagers.
Once their tasks were done—
The two lounged on deck chairs, leisurely sipping ice-cold fruit juice.
Staring up at the blue sky and white clouds, Will's thoughts suddenly drifted to the corrupt marines from before.
After a moment of contemplation, he abruptly sat up and turned to Karina, asking:
"Karina, do you know where that group of marines came from?"
"Specifically, the location of the so-called Marine 16th Branch."
Marine 16th Branch?
Karina pushed her sunglasses up onto her head, looking surprised. "Why do you ask?"
Then she chuckled, "Don't tell me you're planning to go after the remaining marines there."
Will remained silent, merely watching her.
"Eh?!"
Seeing his reaction, Karina immediately sat up, her expression filled with disbelief.
"No way, Will! You're seriously planning to pick a fight with a marine base?!"
"Of course, I am."
Will raised an eyebrow and calmly analyzed, "That rat of a captain has been gone for days."
"Even if the Marine 16th Branch is slow to react, they'll likely notice something's wrong soon."
"Chances are, they'll send another group to investigate."
"To prevent them from troubling the villagers after we leave—"
"We have to take action first and eliminate any future threats."
Karina fell into deep thought upon hearing this, murmuring, "You're right... Those marines were clearly corrupt."
"And with that rat captain's devious nature, there's probably not a single decent marine left at the 16th Branch."
"If we ignore this, the villagers will undoubtedly suffer when the marines come looking for answers."
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Karina frowned regretfully. "It's a shame I don't know exactly where the Marine 16th Branch is."
"We'll need to gather intel from informants first."
Since she hadn't operated much around the Conomi Islands, she knew little about the local marine bases.
Finding out their location would require seeking out intelligence dealers.
After all, marine base locations weren't common knowledge.
Will frowned slightly at her words, about to say something when—
"I know where the Marine 16th Branch is!"
Just then, Nami suddenly ran up the gangplank and onto the deck, looking at Will with a serious expression.
She had been happily heading toward the ship when she overheard Will's conversation at the side of the deck, instantly growing concerned.
Upon realizing that Karina didn't know the exact location, she rushed aboard to speak up.
She was in such a hurry that she completely forgot about the new tattoo on her arm, which she had originally planned to show Will and Karina.
"Where is it?" Will asked without wasting any time.
Nami immediately answered, "It's on a small island in the nearby waters."
"I once followed them there in secret, but there were too many marines for me to sneak inside."
Back then, after discovering the secret dealings between the marines and Arlong, she had attempted to investigate further.
Unfortunately, she hadn't been able to uncover much.
Moreover, with the pressing need to gather 100 million Berries, she had neither the time nor energy to continue pursuing the matter.
In the end, she had no choice but to give up.
"How long will it take to get there?" Will asked for details.
Nami quickly responded, "If the wind is in our favor, we can reach it in about half a day."
"Then we shouldn't waste any time," Will decided without hesitation. "Let's inform the villagers and bid them farewell, then set sail for the Marine 16th Branch!"
"Mm!" Nami and Karina both nodded in agreement.
Shortly after—
The three of them returned to Cocoyasi Village.
They explained the issue regarding the marine base to Genzo, Nojiko, and the other villagers.
It was only then that the villagers realized—
This ordeal was not quite over yet.
