Otherworldly Affairs Office-Chapter 75: Grand General Feiyang
Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Grand General Feiyang
Facing a regiment of ancient soldiers who fearlessly charged at him to sacrifice themselves, Wu Jie finally understood he had encountered a tough opponent today!
No matter how fiercely he and Feng Ziping fought, they were still being pushed further away from that fat bastard by the surging crowd.
"This won’t work. To catch the thief, first capture the king. If we don’t kill that fat bastard, we’ll be worn out and die!" Feng Ziping manipulated the silver needles, dashing through the enemy ranks. Each needle passed through a soldier’s neck without causing bleeding or a fall, only to emit a puff of white smoke and disappear, leaving behind a shattered Roman soldier toy figurine.
After eliminating a soldier with his Butterfly Blade, Wu Jie glanced over at Jiang Feiyang, who was sitting idly playing with toys, and said viciously, "That’s right! M D, I never thought I’d experience the feeling of being a one-man army too! Old Feng, just kill that little B brat!"
"Thread the needle!" Feng Ziping shouted loudly, extending his arms, fingers splayed, each pulling a silver needle attached to an almost transparent thread, speeding through the enemy formation. The needles continued their furious assault after passing through the enemy’s body.
Under Feng Ziping’s control, multiple silver needles converged in the same direction. The sharp threads sliced through the battlefield, and a large number of Roman soldiers vanished instantly, turning into smoke.
"Metamorphosis into Butterflies!" Wu Jie also shouted, a hundred Butterfly Blades appeared suspended around him. With a snap of his fingers, these blades transformed into dancing butterflies, flapping their wings as they flew into the enemy ranks. Each butterfly, upon contact with a soldier, would leave a ghastly wound with a light brush of its wings, turning the soldier into a cloud of smoke in no time.
After Wu and Feng awakened their abilities, the Roman soldiers continuously rushing forward were eliminated in batches. Their offensive finally brought them to Jiang Feiyang’s front.
"M D, go to hell!" Wu Jie cursed as he pointed at Jiang Feiyang with one hand, causing all the butterflies to swarm forward, followed closely by ten silver needles.
"Golden Armor and Iron Horses!" A low hum emerged from Jiang Feiyang’s mouth, who was holding the toy soldiers.
"Boom, boom, boom, boom!" Just as the attacks were about to reach Jiang Feiyang, they were blocked by a massive wooden siege tower. Though it surprised Feng Ziping greatly, it did not stop their advance. The siege tower was quickly torn apart by the Butterflies and silver needles.
After the timber collapsed with a crash and turned into smoke, Feng and Wu momentarily lost sight of their target, Jiang Feiyang. As they squinted to search, a sound of bowstrings twanging reached them from afar, followed by a torrential rain of arrows howling towards them from above.
"Holy crap!" The few people present cursed in unison. They immediately halted their attack on Jiang Feiyang and hurriedly defended against the incoming rain of arrows. Feng Ziping’s fine needles blocked from left and right while Wu Jie’s Butterfly Blades fluttered up and down in the air, finally dispelling this wave of offense.
But before the two could catch their breath, a slight tremor from the ground left them staring ahead in horror.
"What the hell is this guy’s ability?" Feng Ziping muttered to himself in despair. Before him stood a high platform rising from the ground, with that unremarkable fat man now clad in full armor, sitting commandingly on top. Surrounding him stood over twenty well-armed Tang Army Captains, fully equipped and in neat formation.
Below the platform, squads of cavalry on uniformly black steeds clad in shiny armor with long spears, infantrymen carrying Mo Blades topped with helmets, and archers drawing long bows were arranged orderly. At the forefront of the lineup stood three cavalrymen, each holding a large banner with a big character "Jiang" written on it.
Just then, Jiang Feiyang stood up and walked to the edge of the platform, raising his right hand and closing his eyes slowly.
"Grand General might! Grand General might! Grand General might!" A thunderous shout erupted from below the platform! Jiang Feiyang savored this wonderful moment, knowing he had been ridiculed by friends for his cheesy dramatic flair, but he didn’t care! He loved this feeling and even spent two months’ salary to have armor custom-made for him, just to better immerse himself in this atmosphere.
"This kid’s T M sick in the head, right?" Wu Jie muttered under his breath as he watched Jiang Feiyang being worshipped by the army in the distance. He then turned to Feng Ziping and said, "Old Feng, things aren’t looking good. Maybe we should retreat first! Maybe Zou Changxing has already succeeded on his end, and we don’t need to bother with that Hu family."
"T M D, you think I don’t want to go?! The Jiezhi Space outside has already been tampered with and sealed. Unless we force it open, there’s no way out!" Feng Ziping snapped at Wu Jie irritably.
At that moment, Jiang Feiyang’s annoying voice came again, as he waved his large hand, causing the shouts below the platform to stop. Feng Ziping, who could never quite comprehend why someone would carry a loudspeaker, watched dumbfoundedly as Jiang Feiyang took out a megaphone and shouted loudly into it, "Soldiers, just now, these ants in front of you repeatedly refused the invitation to surrender from this General and even insulted me to my face. They regard the General’s kindness as weakness and disrespect the might of our Great Tang military! Lads, what should we do with them?!"
"Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill!"
Seeing this, Feng Ziping felt a headache coming on. While silently agreeing with Wu Jie’s opinion that Jiang Feiyang was indeed sick, he also worried about their impending fate, realizing that Jiang Feiyang had no intention of letting them leave alive.
With that thought, Feng Ziping steeled his resolve and shouted, "M D, let’s go all out! Wu Jie, don’t you get it? We were set up from the beginning. If we don’t kill that guy, neither you, I, nor anyone else can expect to leave here alive!"
"Understood!" Wu Jie gritted his teeth and spat out the words, then turned to the four underlings trembling with fear behind him and shouted, "Do you hear that? If you don’t fight for your lives, you won’t have the chance before we’re trampled flat by the enemy. I’ll kill you first with one slash!"
But before he finished speaking, the ground began to shake violently. Wu Jie turned back quickly to see Jiang Feiyang wave a big hand, and the three cavalrymen holding Jiang-character banners charged forward. Behind them, hundreds of cavalry urged their steeds onward like a tidal wave.
And reaching them before the cavalry was the dense, sky-veiling rain of arrows once again!
"Wu Jie, you hold off this wave of arrows! I’ll find a way to deal with these cavalry. Once we break through, charge with everything you’ve got. No matter what, kill that guy!"
"Understood!"
