Chapter 341: Chapter 327: You Smell So Good

She scratched Simon Forrester’s palm in annoyance, remarking, "You really have a strong sense of revenge."

Simon Forrester lowered his gaze, staring at her, his amber eyes reflecting her face.

He smirked, a mischievous grin on his face, and said, "I was left bare in front of the beautiful ladies, not roasting that dead dog and eating it was already my greatest mercy."

Sienna Thornton was just about to retort when the car reached their destination.

She shifted her gaze to the window, noticing The Lumeria Cathedral ahead. She quickly tugged Simon Forrester’s sleeve, saying, "Hey, we’ve arrived, let’s get off."

Simon Forrester took out his wallet, pulled a euro note, gave it to the driver, and led Sienna Thornton out of the car.

.

A fire occurred at The Lumeria Cathedral last April, severing the spire and causing significant damage to other parts of the building. Although the damaged areas have been repaired and no traces of destruction are visible, the regret lingers in the hearts of all who appreciate this building.

"So sad, Quasimodo lost his beloved girl and his home..." Sienna Thornton stood in front of the bell tower, suddenly lamenting.

Simon Forrester glanced at her sideways, silent for a moment.

Sienna Thornton wondered why he suddenly became quiet, shaking his hand, "Why aren’t you speaking?"

Simon Forrester sighed, lightly asking, "Who told you Quasimodo lost his home?"

"That’s what the trending topics on Weibo said during last year’s fire."

"Stop reading those random reposts online; you shouldn’t trust unverified information," Simon Forrester explained, pointing in the direction of the spire, "The fire started at the highest point, destroying the spire and two-thirds of the roof area. The bell towers on the north and south sides weren’t affected by the fire. That means, Quasimodo’s home is still there."

With that explanation, Sienna Thornton observed the building before her and understood. She affectionately hugged his arm, saying, "Husband, you’re so knowledgeable and amazing!"

Simon Forrester hugged her in return, guiding her towards the church, "Wife, let’s go pray in the church."

"Sure."

.

At three in the afternoon, inside the cathedral, the dim lights on both sides of the beams cast upon the Gothic art wall sculptures, while layers of candle stands adorned the entrance. Amidst the solemn darkness, the holy light fell, evoking awe.

Sienna Thornton stepped into the cathedral, immediately putting away her playful expression, and, holding Simon Forrester’s arm, found a seat in the middle section of the church.

Neither of them spoke, intertwining their hands, closed their eyes to pray, and absorbed the serious and sacred atmosphere.

With her eyes shut, Sienna Thornton felt as though she boarded a time machine, returning to her childhood.

In her heart, she reflected on more than a third of her life gone by; aside from not knowing who her father is, she felt no regrets. For the rest of her life, while balancing her career, her greatest wish remained to walk through it with Simon Forrester.

Simon Forrester sat right beside her, his body touching hers, the warmth he radiated felt even through their clothes. His warmth, breath, every frown, and smile seemed already engraved on her heart and within her very bones.

She sensed, at this very moment, what he hoped for, what he prayed to God for, must be the same as hers.

.

After leaving the church, they continued their tour inside the cathedral for quite some time, and by the time they exited, dusk was approaching.

Early December’s Lumeria nights and mornings were a bit cool, with quite a breeze. Walking along the river, Sienna Thornton tightened her grip on Simon Forrester’s arm, softly asking, "Where are we going now?"

"Hungry?" Simon Forrester looked down at her, gently stroking her flat abdomen twice.

Sienna Thornton stuck out her tongue slightly, "A little hungry."

"Let’s go to La Tour d’Argent for some blood duck!"

At the mention of eating meat, Sienna Thornton brightened up, "Sure, eating duck sounds great! What about after?"

"After we eat, we’ll go on a night cruise on The Silvan River."

For Sienna Thornton, this being her first visit to Lumeria, Simon Forrester’s arrangements were simply perfect for her.

Knowing she loved meat, he took her for delicious meat dishes every meal; knowing she hadn’t seen the full night view of Lumeria last night, he planned to take her on a night cruise on The Silvan River today, along whose banks lay many famous landmarks.

Simon Forrester truly was very considerate.

.

The La Tour d’Argent restaurant was on the other side of the river, not too far away. They walked from the cathedral bridge and reached the restaurant in about ten minutes.

The restaurant’s entrance was on the first floor of a gray-white French building, with a small, intricately designed black door, open on one side, allowing just one person to enter or exit at a time.

During the ten minutes they walked, Simon Forrester taught Sienna Thornton how to communicate with the waitstaff in French. Sienna Thornton learned quickly and accurately; once in the restaurant lobby, she communicated smoothly with the staff, and they were led to their reserved spot on the sixth floor.
