Pampered By My Fake Boyfriend's Brother-Chapter 15 Sheltering
Chapter 15 - 15 Sheltering
The atmosphere inside the car was exceedingly strange, eerily silent.
Assistant Lin had driven for Bao Shaojin for many years and had never felt as uncomfortable as he did now. He was desperate to know the identity of the girl in the backseat, but Bao's oppressive gaze deterred him from making any move.
It was truly difficult!
The only thing he could be sure of was that this girl was distinctly different to Bao.
Otherwise, Bao wouldn't be sitting so closely with her.
While Assistant Lin was contemplating, an untimely sound broke the silence.
"Achoo..."
An Yin sniffled, unable to hold back a sneeze.
Embarrassingly, some snot was left under her nose. An Yin looked at the tissues nearby and was about to reach out for them, but before she could, something seemed to drop from her hand, which she didn't mind at the moment.
The next second, a slender arm reached over, Bao Shaojin's fingertips holding two tissues, extending them to her.
"Thank you." An Yin's voice was soft, with a slight hoarseness.
Bao Shaojin sat still, as if he hadn't been the one to hand her the tissues just now.
After quickly wiping her nose, An Yin's face burned with heat.
So embarrassing!
"Caught a cold?" Bao Shaojin asked coldly, as if it were a casual greeting.
"Mm." An Yin nodded, then sniffed again.
The mucus kept flowing uncontrollably; An Yin held a tissue over her nose, afraid the man would see her in such an embarrassing state.
Bao Shaojin slightly lifted his gaze and saw her slightly red nose tip. Due to the cold, her cheeks were flushed pink, giving off a vibrant and charming look.
However, her frail appearance suggested she should be well cared for, not running around with a cold. Thinking of this, Bao Shaojin frowned slightly.
"Last night, did Bao Cheng leave you there alone?" Bao Shaojin asked.
He probably didn't realize there was a hint of anger in his voice.
Only the sharp Assistant Lin sensed it, but he merely listened quietly, not daring to speak carelessly.
Hearing Bao Cheng's name mentioned, An Yin felt a surge of panic, quickly thinking about how to respond to his question, "He had things...to deal with."
Her vague answer sounded like something else to Bao Shaojin, as if she were covering for Bao Cheng.
His cousin, how could he not know his character? Naturally playful, now even ignoring his delicate girlfriend.
"Hmph..." Bao Shaojin sneered.
An Yin was puzzled by his reaction and dared not speak further.
Assistant Lin felt even more perplexed; why was Bao Cheng suddenly mentioned? Did this girl have some connection with Bao Cheng?
Before Assistant Lin could think further, Bao Shaojin spoke again, "Stop the car up ahead."
"Boss Bao, there's still some distance to the school gate..." But before Assistant Lin could finish his sentence, he saw the stern expression through the rearview mirror and promptly fell silent, "Alright, Boss Bao."
An Yin wiped her nose, and upon hearing the man's words, her heart trembled, recalling her request last night for the car to stop a little farther from the school gate...
When the car came to a stop, An Yin opened the door, stepped out, and bent down.
As she was about to shut the car door, she slowly looked up at the man with a proud, aloof side profile, "Thank you for driving me back to school, brother."
When she uttered "brother," An Yin's heart pounded uneasily, feeling uncomfortable. Yet, she didn't know how else to address him, and she lacked the courage to ask his name.
Bao Shaojin didn't look her way, nor did his expression change, merely instructing the front, "Drive."
Assistant Lin paused for a moment before starting the car.
If he heard correctly, the girl had called him "brother." When did Boss Bao ever have a sister?
Assistant Lin felt as if many of his brain cells had died!
While Assistant Lin was puzzling over this, Bao Shaojin turned towards the seat where the girl had just been sitting.
Initially clean, the seat suddenly had an object on it; Bao Shaojin reached out, picked it up, and upon seeing the large characters on it, his gaze turned dark and foreboding.
On the other side, once An Yin got out of the car, she immediately sensed something amiss.
When she lifted her hand, only then did she realize what she'd left behind.
The contraceptive pill was gone.
An Yin's mind went blank.
Before getting into the car, she'd still held it in her hand, but after getting in...
She dared not think about what could happen next.
If it was left in the car, then Bao Cheng's cousin would surely see it, and then...
An Yin could die of embarrassment.
But there was no time to dwell on it now. An Yin went to the shop near the school gate to buy a mask, risking running into someone familiar, put it on, and rushed to the pharmacy to buy another pill.
When she emerged from the pharmacy, she let out a long sigh of relief.
She almost sprinted back to the dormitory, breaking into a bit of a sweat.
"Keke." As she opened the dormitory door, she saw her friend lying on the bed, looking listless, likely having just slept.
"Yinyin, you're back. Did you get the stuff?" Jiang Keke propped herself up, eyes shining as she looked at An Yin.
"Mm." An Yin reached out her hand in front of her, "I'll get you a cup of water."
When Jiang Keke took the contraceptive pill, she seemed a bit uncomfortable. She swallowed it in one go and accepted the water offered by the other, gulping it down.
An Yin helped her set the cup down, came to Jiang Keke's bedside, and looked at her intently, "You, you're with Bao Cheng now." She stated it as a fact.
Jiang Keke shrank into the covers, showing only her tired face.
From the dark circles under her eyes, it was evident she hadn't gotten much sleep last night, looking weary.
"Mm." Jiang Keke said softly.
"You..." The question An Yin originally wanted to ask lingered on her lips before she changed to, "Get some good rest."
Seeing An Yin's hesitant expression, Jiang Keke comforted her, "Yinyin, I know you're worried about me getting hurt, but don't worry. Bao Cheng truly cares for me, and we will definitely be together for a long time!"
As she spoke, Jiang Keke's eyes sparkled with radiant light, the kind only those immersed in love would possess.
Seeing her friend so blissfully in love, An Yin felt her heart settle.
As long as she's happy, it's all that matters!
Besides, although Bao Cheng seemed carefree, so far, he's been quite good to Keke.
Perhaps she was just overthinking.
"I hope you two can love each other for a lifetime," An Yin teased with a smile.

"Of course," Jiang Keke replied confidently.
An Yin didn't want to consume more of this sweet love and took out her cold medicine to take.
"What medicine are you taking?" Jiang Keke climbed up, looking worriedly at her friend as she took the medicine.
"Just a cold," An Yin said after swallowing the medicine.
This medicine is really bitter!
"Your body is so frail, catching colds so easily," Jiang Keke complained, though her tone was filled with concern.
"I'll be fine in a few days, don't worry," An Yin reassured her.
Jiang Keke pouted, "You always say that," then lay back down.
