Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 588 - 591: He is the first one to hold me in the palm of his hand
"He got drunk?"
"No. When His Highness returned this time, the doctor repeatedly warned him not to drink alcohol. But last night, His Highness drank alone, and now he’s in emergency care. Miss Cecilia Branford, please come and see him quickly..."
From Leo’s brief words, Sophie Sullivan roughly understood the situation.
She took a deep breath, stabilizing her emotions. "Alright, give me the hospital’s address, and I’ll head over immediately."
Leo told her the address, and Sophie Sullivan immediately hung up the telephone.
As she was about to get out of bed, a long arm reached out and pulled her into an embrace.
Her body crashed into Thomas Shannon’s firm chest. Sophie Sullivan was in no mood to bicker with him. Her expression was cold, her lips pursed slightly. "Thomas, Lucifer is in trouble. I have to go to the hospital right now. Don’t try to stop me, or I’ll never forgive you."
Thomas Shannon’s thin lips pressed tightly together. He hadn’t said a word, yet she had already delivered her threat.
He sneered. "Lucifer is in trouble, so why do you need to go? He has people by his side; they don’t need you to take care of him."
"He’s my childhood playmate, and now he’s in the hospital. Why can’t I go visit him?"
Sophie Sullivan said with cold mockery, "Thomas, you’re cold-blooded. Don’t try to turn everyone into a cold-blooded creature like yourself. Let go!"
Cold-blooded creature?
Thomas Shannon tightly grasped her jaw with one hand. "It’s only because I’m not cold-blooded enough that I let you take whatever you want. Now, have your wings grown so strong that you’re ready to fly away?"
"Take whatever I want," indeed.
Hadn’t I been trading my body for those things all along?
Sophie Sullivan gave a faint, cold smile. "Thomas, ever since I woke up, Lucifer has been the first person to be gentle with me, to be good to me, and to hold me in the palm of his hand."
That one sentence, like a sharp blade, pierced straight into Thomas Shannon’s heart.
Gentle with her... Good to her... The one holding her in the palm of his hand... Had only Lucifer given her these things?
Thomas Shannon’s eyes darkened. His cold, piercing gaze stared at her for a long time before he finally released her.
He said nothing, got up, and got out of bed.
Picking up the sleep gown from the ground and putting it on, he left the bedroom without a word.
Sophie Sullivan had no time to think about anything else. She ran into the bath chamber, washed up as quickly as possible, changed her clothes, picked up her mobile phone, and left the bedroom.
When she left the castle unimpeded and asked for a car, she was refused.
"No one can use a car without the Young Master’s order."
Sophie Sullivan sneered. Did Thomas Shannon really think this could stop me?
Sophie Sullivan nodded. "Alright. Go tell your Young Master that I don’t care for his car."
She took a deep breath and began to run quickly outside.
It was a few minutes’ driving distance from the castle to the manor gate.
From the manor to the hospital, it was about an hour’s drive.
Now, her only option was to find a way to leave the manor first, then get a taxi to the hospital.
However, in the end, she had been too naïve...
Leaving the manor, she walked alongside the highway. She had been tormented terribly last night, and her legs were still weak.
She trembled with every step.
She didn’t know how much longer she could hold on. Her pace grew slower and slower, until finally, she had to take out her mobile phone and call Leo.
"Leo, send someone to pick me up."
"I’m sorry, Miss Cecilia Branford. It was my oversight. I will send someone to pick you up right away."
After hanging up the mobile phone, Sophie Sullivan was so exhausted she squatted on the spot, gasping for breath.
