Chapter 677: Chapter 680: Sophie, you are really not cute!

All her subtle expressions and movements were taken in by Thomas Shannon.

"What’s wrong?" He took her hand away from her face; his fingertips were ice-cold and trembling slightly.

He held her cold hand, his thin lips pressed tightly. "Are you very cold?"

Sophie Sullivan shook her head wearily, unwilling to say anything.

"Tell me, what did you dream about?"

She had been touching her face; had she dreamt about her face?

They were very close, and Thomas Shannon’s deep, magnetic voice sounded in her ear.

His voice was low and magnetic. She leaned against his chest, listening to his strong, powerful heartbeat sound.

Her uneasy heart gradually calmed.

Even though she was awake, the fear in her heart still seemed to linger.

She was uneasy, terrified.

"Fennie, tell me, what did you dream about?" Thomas Shannon gently rubbed her face with one hand.

Sophie Sullivan lowered her long eyelashes. They were thick and curly, fluttering like the wings of a frightened butterfly, trembling as she spoke, "I dreamt someone was cutting my face with a knife... No one came to save me... No one..."

Lucifer wasn’t there; no one came to save her...

She could only watch helplessly as her face was slashed with a knife, the skin broken and flesh torn.

Thomas Shannon’s brow furrowed, and he hugged her tightly. "That’s all in the past. I’ll protect you from now on."

Sophie Sullivan suddenly laughed. She looked up, her hazy eyes holding a hint of vulnerability. "Just don’t bully me. I don’t expect you to protect me." 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Hadn’t he bullied her enough times already?

"Sophie, you’re really not adorable!"

Thomas Shannon’s voice suddenly turned cold, and he gripped her chin with one hand. "Do you only remember the bad things I’ve done to you?"

"You’re angry again..." Sophie Sullivan raised her hand and pinched his handsome face. "Such a moody fellow."

Thomas Shannon unceremoniously pulled her hand away. "Likewise. You’re also a hot-and-cold fellow."

Leaning against his chest and bickering with him, after a while, they both fell silent.

They stared at each other, speechless.

"HUMPH." Sophie Sullivan snorted and turned her head away, refusing to look at him.

Thomas Shannon chuckled. "Turn your head and look at me."

"You’re not good-looking."

"What did you say?"

Sophie Sullivan suddenly turned her head back, her beautiful, hazy eyes veiled with a thin mist of doubt. "What made you unhappy tonight?"

Her thoughts jumped around so much that Thomas Shannon almost couldn’t keep up.

He pursed his lips, remaining silent.

Sophie Sullivan raised her hand, her voice soft and tinged with a slight helplessness. "Seeing as you comforted me, let me comfort you too."

"Are you sure you’re not just trying to gossip?"

Sophie Sullivan glared at him. "Am I that kind of person? I’m concerned about you."

Thomas Shannon scoffed, ruthlessly piercing her pretense. "Forgive me for not seeing it."

Feeling her body gradually warm up, Thomas Shannon lifted the blanket from her and raised an eyebrow. "Can you walk on your own?"

Sophie Sullivan wasn’t one to be melodramatic. She got off his lap and started to walk out.

Thomas Shannon’s arm snaked around her waist from behind, pulling her into his possessive embrace.

Sophie Sullivan didn’t struggle. Her expression was serious, her mind clearly heavy with thoughts.

After calling Edward Benson on the telephone and explaining the situation, Thomas Shannon took Sophie Sullivan away from the Golden Wing Palace and returned to the manor.

Thomas Shannon reeked of alcohol. He opened the wardrobe, took out a sleep gown, and went into the bath chamber to take a bath.

Emerging from the bath chamber, Thomas Shannon was holding a towel and wiping his wet hair. "Fennie, go take a bath."
