Chapter 692: Chapter 695: Say "I miss you" three times, and you’ll get an unexpected surprise

"Don’t answer my telephone calls in the future, understand?"

Sophie, still dazed from being woken by his mother’s telephone call, asked, "Was that your mother calling?"

"Yes."

"Is she blaming me?"

Thomas Shannon’s eyes darkened slightly. "That’s not the point. Remember what I said."

Sophie got angry. Combined with the grumpiness from being woken up, she was quite upset.

Her leg, caught in his hand, kicked forcefully a couple of times, finally breaking free. Sophie sat up, grabbed a pillow, and slammed it against him.

"Thomas Shannon, points deducted!"

Thomas Shannon caught the pillow with one hand and casually tossed it aside. He leaned over, gripping her chin. "Which points?"

"Affection points!"

"Fennie, you’re breaking the game rules." His eyes narrowed dangerously, anger flickering in their depths.

"I made the game rules! It’s up to me whether to deduct or add points!"

Sophie pried his hand away and tossed it aside. "You can’t force me to like you, just as you can’t force me not to deduct your points when you upset me."

"Fine. Why are you deducting points? Give me a reason." Thomas Shannon’s voice was low and deep, laced with a hidden danger as he emphasized, "A reason that will convince me."

Sophie snorted, her long eyelashes sweeping down, veiling the turbulent emotions in her eyes. "You made me unhappy."

"Because of the telephone call?"

"You won’t let me touch your mobile phone." He claimed to like her, but he got angry just because she answered his telephone.

His affection seemed worthless.

"It’s not that I won’t let you touch it. Just don’t answer it."

"Is there really a difference? Their nature is the same."

Not letting her touch it meant not letting her answer his telephone. He was afraid she would ruin things.

He was afraid that if she answered his telephone, she might upset the person calling him.

"Fennie, don’t be unreasonable." Thomas Shannon grabbed her chin again. "Get up, do your washing up, and come down the stairs for breakfast."

With that, he picked up his mobile phone and left the room.

Sophie snorted coldly, went into the restroom to do her washing up. When she came out, her mobile phone on the bedside table rang.

She deliberately glanced at it; seeing it was her own mobile phone, she picked it up.

"Lucifer?"

"Dear Cecilia, have you missed me?" Lucifer’s teasing voice came over the line.

Sophie could almost imagine Lucifer’s enchanting face, his scarlet thin lips curved into a brilliantly doting smile. She chuckled softly. "Before you ask if I’ve missed you, shouldn’t you tell me if *you’ve* missed *me*?"

"My dear, I’ve missed you so much I’m going insane," Lucifer sighed, rubbing his forehead.

The corners of Sophie’s mouth curled up. The anger Thomas Shannon had stirred in her gradually dissipated with Lucifer’s few words. "I missed you too," she said.

"Cecilia, say you miss me three times, and there’ll be an unexpected surprise. Want to try?"

"Lucifer, what tricks are you playing now?"

"Cecilia, if you want to know, do as I say."

Lucifer really knew how to get to her; he had thoroughly hooked her curiosity. "Lucifer, I miss you, I miss you, I *really* miss you! Where’s the surprise?"

A low, deep laugh came from the other end of the telephone. "I’ll tell you some good news."

Sophie’s patience was wearing thin. "Go on."

Lucifer patted Gaby’s big head, signaling it not to worry, that it would make an appearance soon. "Forget it, just see for yourself. Hang up the telephone, and I’ll video call you in a while."
