Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 751 - 754: Fennie, you misunderstood me
The reason Thomas Shannon had a car accident was entirely because he indulged her. It was her trick that made him choose not to resist. He chose to fulfill her wish—a car accident, serious injuries, unconsciousness... All of this, he could have avoided, but because he wanted to appease her, he suffered these avoidable disasters.
"Charlie River, is it your place to speak? Thomas Shannon hasn’t even said he likes it, so why are you acting as his mouthpiece?"
Sophie Sullivan patted Gaby’s head with one hand. "Gaby, get down."
Gaby roared viciously at Thomas Shannon before getting off him. It jumped off the bed and stood by Sophie Sullivan’s side like a protector.
Thomas Shannon opened his eyes. They were deep, his irises dark. He looked at her with cool restraint, his thin lips slightly pursed. "Fennie... Charlie River is right."
"What did Charlie River say?"
"I like you," Thomas Shannon said, enunciating each word.
Sophie Sullivan pouted and looked away. "It’s too windy; I can’t hear you."
"Fennie, I like you."
"Gaby, did you hear anything?"
The corners of Sophie Sullivan’s lips lifted slightly as she gently stroked Gaby’s head, smoothing its fur.
Gaby squinted contentedly.
Thomas Shannon struggled to sit up. Seeing this, Charlie River immediately reached out to help but was waved away. "No need. Charlie River, you go out first."
"Young Master..." Charlie River hesitated, casting a wary glance at Gaby.
How could he feel at ease leaving such a huge creature here? If it were just Sophie Sullivan alone, maybe he could leave the bedroom in peace, but with Gaby here, he couldn’t possibly leave. Who knew if this tiger would go crazy and eat their Young Master!
"Charlie River, get out!" Thomas Shannon’s tone grew stern, his eyes deep and his gaze allowing no argument. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Young Master, I can’t just stand by and watch you be in danger..."
Thomas Shannon grabbed a nearby pillow and threw it at Charlie River. Perhaps due to his weakness, the pillow floated lightly to the ground, not harming Charlie River in the slightest.
His chest heaved as he panted. "Is it because you see I’m close to death that you won’t even listen to my words anymore?"
"Young Master, Charlie River wouldn’t dare!"
Sophie Sullivan watched the two bicker. Her head aching, she pressed a hand to her forehead. "Gaby, this fellow is too noisy. Drag him out."
Sophie Sullivan pointed, and Gaby immediately pounced on Charlie River.
It grabbed Charlie River’s pant leg and began dragging him out.
Charlie River kept looking back at Thomas Shannon in worry with every step.
The bedroom door shut.
In the spacious bedroom, only Sophie Sullivan and Thomas Shannon remained.
"Fennie." Thomas Shannon’s lips curved into a smile. "I like you."
This confession came without warning.
Sophie Sullivan snorted, haughtily crossing her arms over her chest with an indifferent expression. "So, this is how you like me?"
"Hmm?"
"Putting Minimus Hart in the medical office and letting Raina Bell parade around in front of me—that’s your way of showing you like me?"
"Fennie, you’ve misunderstood..."
Misunderstood? After all this, he dared to say she misunderstood?
Sophie Sullivan snorted coldly and turned to leave.
Watching her resolute back, Thomas Shannon clutched his aching head. Why is she so hard to placate? Didn’t Lan Singh say women are the easiest to coax?
He threw off the thin quilt and stumbled after her. Catching up, he hugged her from behind, burying his head in the soft hollow of her neck. His voice was low and hoarse. "I brought them to you so you could vent your anger, not to deliberately upset you. Fennie, you misunderstood me."
