Path To Godhood Begins With Marrying Wife And Gaining SSS Rank Skill-Chapter 384:Soul Stamp
Once things had settled down at home, Ethan returned to his duties. He opened the blueprints he had received from the system and looked at the complex diagrams with a grin.
"Kekekke...I can already see Otlo’s shocked expression upon seeing this.."
He headed straight for the blacksmith workshop. The heat of the forge hit him as he entered. Sparks flew, and hammers rang loudly.
He found the head blacksmith and slapped the papers down on the table.
As expected, Otlo was shocked. He looked at the drawings, and his jaw dropped.
"What theeee hellllll!" Otlo roared at the top of his lungs.
His shout attracted everyone in the workshop. The other blacksmiths gathered around the table. Their eyes widened, and their faces flushed with excitement. Some leaned closer, and others pushed forward to see clearly.
"Where...Where did you get all this?" one apprentice stammered, gripping the table.
"Fucking HELLL!" another shouted in disbelief.
"This is some next level stuff.." an older smith muttered while adjusting his glasses and squinting at the details.
Otlo’s hands trembled as he grabbed the blueprint with shaking fingers, as if he were holding an idol he worshipped. He traced the lines carefully. Then he looked up at Ethan with a mix of fear and deep admiration.
[Arcane Burst Cannon]
[Rune-Powered Ballista]
[Mana Repeater Turret]
[Portable Mana Shield Generator]
[Elemental Charge Grenade]
Ethan looked over the list of rewards he had received. Each one of them was enough to make a kingdom salivate. No, even an emperor might lose control if they saw these blueprints. The reason was simple. Even though many empires were developed and had advanced technology, the Mana Repeater Turret was highly advanced and only found in the Eldoria Empire. It was a treasure that could change the fate of a war.
After the initial huffing and puffing filled with excitement, Otlo slowly calmed down. He looked at the blueprints again, but this time his expression changed. His brows drew together, and he let out a heavy sigh. That sound alone made Ethan frown. The excitement in the room faded, and a heavy silence replaced it.
"What happened?" Ethan asked, noticing the shift in mood. "Is there a problem?"
Otlo hesitated for a moment before speaking. He looked down at his rough hands, which were blackened from years of work at the forge.
"You can say... My Lord... these things... It’s beyond our league to create. We need magic researchers and many other people. We aren’t that capable," Otlo said, bowing his head in shame.
The other blacksmiths also lowered their heads with saddened looks. They were skilled craftsmen, but they knew their limits. These weapons needed a mix of magic and engineering that they did not possess.
Ethan gave a small smile and patted Otlo on the shoulder to comfort him. "It’s okay. Don’t worry. I will try to gather some people."
"Uhh... Okay..." Otlo replied, though he still looked dejected.
Even though Ethan spoke calmly, he was troubled inside. He walked away from the forge with a heavy heart.
’Magic researchers... Where will I find them?’ he thought while rubbing his temples. This was a remote territory, not a magic academy.
This became another troublesome matter that gave him a headache. Just as he was thinking deeply, something suddenly clicked in his mind.
"FUCKKK!" he shouted, startling a passing guard.
"How can I forget him?"
"Mareti..."
He had been very busy lately and had completely forgotten about the mage soul sealed in the staff. It had been weeks since he last checked.
Ethan quickly moved toward the secluded room where the staff was stored. The room was quiet and dusty. He reached out and grabbed the staff. The moment his skin touched it, his consciousness was pulled inside. He did not resist.
Swoooww!
The world shifted. Inside the gray, misty space of the staff, he saw a soul in a rough human shape sitting cross-legged and meditating. Mareti looked peaceful, floating in the void.
Mareti opened his eyes when he sensed Ethan’s presence.
"You are here... Did you find a body?" he asked, and there was hope in his voice.
"No," Ethan said calmly, shaking his head.
Mareti’s form flickered with disappointment.
"I mean I can literally find anybody, but I should find a better one."
Mareti’s eyes glowed with frustration. He floated closer. "It doesn’t matter. Even if you find a commoner body, I can use my research to upgrade. At worst, I start from scratch."
Ethan understood, but he did not like that plan.
"No. I need you to get stronger fast. Even with your knowledge, it might take a decade."
Mareti’s expression fell. If he had real skin, his face would have twisted.
’A decade...’
’Is this guy insane...’
’Each realm takes almost a decade, yet he talks about jumping several realms in a decade...’
Mareti looked at Ethan like he was a madman. Then he saw Ethan smile, and that smile was not warm. It was sharp and cruel.
"Before that, I need some assurance," Ethan said coldly.
"What assurance? Didn’t I say I will take a mana oath?" Mareti stammered.
Ethan almost laughed. Mana oath. Heaven oath.
’Heh. In both cultivation and magic worlds, people break oaths like snapping fingers. No way I trust that.’
Ethan reached into his pocket within the soul space and took out a stamp. The moment Mareti saw it, he felt strong déjà vu. The stamp glowed with an ominous light.
"What’s that..." Mareti asked, and his voice trembled.
"It’s a stamp. I am going to stamp your soul," Ethan said. He held it up so Mareti could see the intricate runes on its base. "With this, as long as you harbor ill intent, you will be punished."
"Now... You can’t do this. This is too much..." Mareti cried out.
Ethan ignored him and stepped forward. Mareti moved back in terror, trying to create distance.
"Nooo... Please don’t come closer... Don’t come closer to me..."
"Stay away...Stay away from me,"he screamed like a frightened animal.
Ethan almost slipped at that reaction. He stopped and looked at the terrified soul with a strange expression.
"Stop screaming like that. It sounds as if I am gonna rape you."
