PERFECT REINCARNATION : Being Invincible in Another World-Chapter 62: Wicked Approach
Aurelion and Evelyn were spending a beautiful time together, for Evelyn it was a new experience to have a friend with whom she can be free with. And Aurelion was just happy to feel like a true child again. Their lovely little conversations kept going for a while. Then after a while, Aurelion that it is time for him to depart so he should leave for preparations. And he conveyed that to Evelyn.
".. Today? But you won’t be leaving today." She replied with a surprised look, "I just met his grace in the lobby earlier and he told me that you won’t be leaving today." She informed Aurelion.
Aurelion stood up with a hurried feet. "... Huh, What?, he said "... Forgive me but I must go right now to ask the reason for that from Uncle." And he left the veranda after greeting her.
Aurelion walked to the hallways and entered Caelion’s study. Caelion was sitting in his chair skimming through some documents. He looked up at the sudden intruder "Yes, dear nephew. You needed something?" He asked.
Aurelion explained how he heard about him staying so suddenly during his interaction with Evelyn and asked Caelion for the reason behind it.
"... Ohh, so you have heard that already," Caelion reacted. Aurelion exhaled with a hint of relief thinking that it was probably only a miscommunication between the two.
"... Who said that it is not true," Caelion paused. " ... You won’t be going back home today at the very least." Caelion stayed.
"... But why?" Aurelion yelled. "... I stayed yesterday because it was already too late but I have already achieved my goal for coming here." Aurelion stated his version.
"... That pains my heart that you do not want to spend more time with your uncle," Caelion took off his spectacles, "....But anyway, that is not the reason why I am holding you here." He added.
"... There is one thing I noted that you are lacking severely, so as the Strategist of the Empire, it is my duty that the Crown Prince be taught properly in that regard." Caelion explained. "So, that is the reason you will stay here and study more for it." He added.
Aurelion pondered for a little then replied thinking he was currently staying at a magic tower so it must have something to do with magic. "... I am already good at Magic casting though, if you think I am lacking in the theoretical aspect, I can just make up for that in the Palace itself." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"... When did I say anything about magic?", Caelion poured into his eyes, " You lack the necessary knowledge of the Empire’s history and lack the in depth values of diplomatic relations." He put on his spectacles again which shined along with his eyes now. "... You are not going anywhere before you learn those." He ordered as his relative and the strategist.
Aurelion wanted to react abruptly in that moment but, then his wicked mind got an idea to tackle the whole situation so, he simply nodded in acknowledgement, greeted Caelion and left the room.
Out in the hallways, "... Hehehe, you think you can trap me here and make me study, killer looks guy. You do not know the tenacity of a 20th Century person. When you will be busy eating, I will run away from this place. Nobody can make me study, I have already given it too many years of my life to it, I am not going to to spend some here for some dead geezers too." He murmured to himself.
He planned his devious escape route in his mind but for that he realized that he needed the support of one more person which was his helmsman Stefan who can takes the helms of the carriage.
He decided to look for Stefan, "... Now where can I found?" He murmured. "What about others, I want to take Lyra back too but that would be too risky and I also need someone here with the familiars."
"....I guess, it will not cause that much of a problem if I run away, Lyra and the others can simply join me in the Palace tomorrow." He thought.
He went around looking for him. He adjusted his sleeves and stepped out quietly, scanning the hallway for Stefan. The tower was quieter now in the evening, most researchers had retreated to their chambers, and the distant sound of stabilizing runes echoed through the walls till here. Aurelion moved down the spiral staircase, turning corners with eyes gazing all around, looking into the side archive room, then toward the main landing near the exit.
No sign of Stefan. He frowned slightly. "...Where does he disappear to at times like this?" he muttered. Just as he stepped past the final column before the outer corridor, a familiar voice rang out behind him.
"...And where exactly does Your Highness think he’s going?" He stiffened and then he turned slowly. "... Oh it’s just you, Uff." He reacted.
Lyra stood there with her hands on her hips, leaning casually against the stone pillar as if she had been waiting all along. She tilted her head, "...You are doing it again, right?" She gave a long stare.
WAIT... HOW DID SHE KNOW? I HAVEN’T SAID A WORD TO ANYONE ABOUT THIS AND I HAVEN’T EVEN FOUND STEFAN YET. Aurelion’s breath got stuck in his mouth.
"... You just dumped more work on me again," She said. "It was my Sleep day, I was chillin— I mean resting peacefully when Stefan let loose some wild animals in my room." She added. "Do you know how I woke up to my nap from right now, a huge snake was hissing on my stomach,.....Ahhh.. That gave me a heart ache." Lyra started almost crying in her voice with some tear being visible.
Aurelion exhaled in relief and then it sticken him, "...Lyra." He said with a weird grin, "... I can free you from your duty and will also give you a one week of leave." She nodded.
"YOU JUST NEED TO DO SOMETHING FOR ME."
