Some time after meeting with Loimos, Solast landed upon the soil of Belliste once again, having sent the youngling away as he was not longer required, the sun dragon knew how to communicate with all here on his own, and knew very well that he would not be lied to, he would have to visit all other continents as well, having not dared even lie by omission after the greatly veiled threat.
Solast was honestly surprised, he had been made to go right in line with nothing but words, this undead was no joke, the youngling had even puked right after the meeting had concluded, and Loimos had not even done anything extraordinary, in fact, even keeping himself subdued, not letting out any energy or aura, neither his presence, after taking a seat, he had barely even moved at all, truly, Solast could have been fooled into thinking that Loimos was just an ordinary corpse.
One could just feel something in his voice that did not put at ease for even a second, it was not normal, nothing living should be hearing that voice.
Sighing with all three of his heads, Solast knew that Ronarkatast would somehow find that interesting and intriguing, which was exactly why he had to make certain his lord would not meeting with the undead any time soon, by speaking with Loimos, the dragon was now sure with one hundred percent certainty that the dark storm was ruled by perfectly logical, keen-minded beings, it had only been a supposition before.
However, seeing as Loimos was the one picked to handle both conquest and diplomacy was an issue, one needed only logic to appeal to him, pulling on heart-strings that did not exist was a waste of time, he was impartial and according to the youngling, it was impossible to tell truth apart from lies concerning the undead, having described it as null every last word carried no discernible signification, meaning that he could have lied all he wanted.
Still, Solast felt confident, a being devoid of all emotions was deemed to thus be incredibly analytically and logic-driven.
Luck be damned, because the four lords that the dragon wanted to address were gathered right this instant.
"Perfect timing" his landing had already lured them outside.
"I happen to have just conversed with a high-ranked member of the undead, or of the black storm approaching… A certain Loimos, which I am certain you will get the pleasure of speaking with in the future"
"What was this meeting about?" asked Combuscrus.
"As I had explained during my last visit, I had been meaning to try and find ways to convince the dead to engage in more peaceful negotiations, if it was possible, as I have just discovered, negotiations are possible, but I will admit that their skill in that regard was far above my expectations, he would not even bend a bit to my pleas, but I managed to strike a deal…" Solast coughed, speaking about it now only made him realise just how much he had had to cough up and promise under oath to earn so little.
Not content with just killing beings literally, Loimos had nearly killed Solast's finances, Loimos was hard to move from his positions, but of course, the dragon had also noticed the slowing in their progress and could use it to make the undead a bit more agreeable, at least, that's what he would like to think.
None of those deals had been equivalent.
"Some of my good friends have been overlooking Belliste and noticed a certain undead presence-"
"Ah yes, the headless fuckers! Those guys have been popping everywhere en masse, this is already the second meeting concerning them, or perhaps the third? No matter, they are aggressive and have managed to lob the heads of a few of our people, not many but still-!" Derdlim Maulerd swung her cleaver around "-And they don't give anything to eat too! Absolute insanity!"
"Yes, yes… I have managed to make him pull back all of his 'headhunters' as he called them" the sun dragon was proud of this one.
"For what price?" Alisart wondered, making Solast look away.
"Ever heard of the concept of price gouging?
Well, it's a joke compared to what happened out there, thankfully, the fact that the undead originate from Viridis means that concepts and materials unique to areas outside of the miasma means that they hold great value to them, considering your unique techniques and practices, I would suggest that if negotiations are offered to you by Loimos, that you take them, he can be gracious… For a price…" Solast thankfully had had a good stash of certain ores and materials foreign to Viridis, because concerning Belliste, Loimos demanded heavy tributes.
The rotten undead had shown more clemency toward the other continents, he probably envisioned for it to take long to take Belliste and to even get anywhere close to the other continents, so was logically more willing to form good relations with them, for now.
"How is the formation of the life barrier going anyways?" the dragon asked, as far as they knew, life was really the only thing that could stop the undead, as such, forming a perimeter especially ripe with life was of importance to prevent them from flooding in.
The work on such a thing was done in secret, but required assistance of all four lords.
The knowledge and expertise of the north.
The manpower of the south.
Ressources from the west.
As well as the talent of the east, to decipher the properties of said ressources thanks to their palate.
"Glad you asked! It is progressing at phenomenal speed, with the time we have, we will be capable of refining the whole thing down to perfection, I doubt any undead will pass through or manage to leave a dent in it!" the pyromancer king was confident thanks to the ample amount of time at their disposal.
"That's the problem, the undead will get to Belliste faster than anticipated, you can thank Loimos for telling me ahead of time, it would have been a few days until I knew otherwise…"

"...He decided to use me to tell you that he was officially declaring the four aspects of the apocalypse on you, and was going to make a beeline for this continent"
"That is an odd way of saying that declares war on us…" muttered Jaral Cribler.
Solast breathed out.
"To be precise, he said that was going to unleash, conquest, war, famine and pestilence upon you, in this order, he did not appear to be a fan of unnecessary dramatisation, so I think he meant that literally" and with this Solast took off, having to relay the words of Loimos to the other continents as well as his own lord.
