"My Lord, are you certain about allowing the assassin to do as she pleases? That living is consumed by madness" both hands tightly held behind his back, a horned undead dressed nearly completely in white stood a small distance behind, to the side of Loimos.

Standing atop the great wall built upon the south of Belliste, the general was overlooking the progress upon the very last invasion that would be taking place on this continent, after this, it would be up to him to defeat Irlke Combuscrus in a face-off, although the vow that had brought about the need for a confrontation against the warking alone could easily be broken, Loimos was still planning on honouring this duel, it was a great opportunity to garner the complete respect of the north.

Although all would become undeads without fail, it was dubious whether or not they would be very thrilled about cooperating with the empire, the sheer amount of them that would be living in death was predicted to be of at least twenty-five percent, however, whatever the actual amount turned out to be, they would need to either be culled or turned to the right side in some way.

The latter was the mission of the church and its missionaries for the most part, but the former, it was believed to be up to anyone to take care of such traitors, of the negator as they had begun to be called.

But the truth was that Loimos had formed a caste specifically for this purpose, the Erado, headed by Carnifex, who tended to shadow Loimos’s every movements from a distance, as though worried that one who lives in death would try and attack him, which was a ridiculous notion, the champion could feel such things from kilometers away and even then, one would be hard-pressed into finding anyone capable of leaving a dent into him.

Still, Carnifex took his mission very seriously, the blade he had been granted for his mission was special, the horned undead had been the very first to receive such a weapon, he had been trusted with this tool before anyone else, the trust granted upon him was a heavy thing to bear.

"Madness, is that what it looks like to you?" the leader of the Erado fell silent, carefully considering his words, should he stay strong on his initial conviction or question what he believed? But utter honesty was required.

"Yes, Maliah is volatile, unpredictable, and commonly makes notable changes to the story she gives herself, one time she was an unwanted little wretch, the other she was the favoured daughter of a duke… She often stares into nothingness as well, it appears likely to me that she is unstable" Carnifex stated what he believed, he had studied living psychology and behaviours extensively in his pursuit of spotting all possible abnormalities negator could demonstrate.

As such, he felt rather confident in his analysis.

"Maliah certainly gives off that impression, but insanity is not what is at play here" since Loimos was not giving him the answer, Carnifex could only conclude that it was up to him to figure out what was up with the fin-limier.

"...If I may ask, My Lord… Why did you permit for her to- Go wild?" watching through the eyes of one of Loimos’s personal spies, casting a rather wide image of what The Death Dealer was up to, the horned undead found no other ways to describe this sort of activity.

There was one caste of the vanguard that was made up of especially nasty individuals, but even when all combined together, they could not reach the level of sadism and glee Maliah demonstrated.

It was a fact that she was an incredible asset, being part of the greater individual powers that had inhabited Viridis, and one of Loimos’s earlier allies, as she had claimed, The Death Dealer was a freak of nature, an explosive combination of inborn defects and advantages that worked together perfectly, her constant pursuit of slaughter and bloodshed had also led her to accumulate power that way, because it was not just the physique and powers that were perfect for one another, the personality and mindset of the assassin were also immaculately matching.

In short, Maliah was natural born killing machine, it was what she could do best, it was what she wanted to do, and she loved doing it to the point of obsession, her path in life had been set since the moment of her conception and this way was one she would have walked anyways.

Carnifex was well aware of that, but one thing that confused him, was why Loimos had not made Maliah into one of the dead just yet, it would be an incredible boon if she acquired an undead body, her special constitution would only shine even better.

"Carnifex, can you imagine any other living working with us on the basis of causing death and nothing else?"

"I hardly can"

"Moreover, Maliah is a loyal ally that was of great help in bringing the empire back, she wishes to meet death in combat and that is to be respected"

"I see, my apologies for the questions, My Lord" the undead lowered his head, taking a few steps back, right as something occurred on the image projected upon the air, the spy catching sight of something ridiculous again.

Plucking a single strand of hair from her head, pulling it straight in front of her body, Maliah watched happily as another javelin was clean sliced in half, both pieces missing and striking the cavernous wall behind.

Aramap approached her, his quiver nearly completely emptied of all its javelins by now, a single, casual throw of his was capable of killing dozens of trolls, shatter boulders and blast entire bodies into red paste, but they couldn’t even leave a slight bruise on The Death Dealer’s fair skin, seeing that even the hair growing on her head was more resistant and sharper than his projectiles was just adding insult to injury.

Dropping this strand of hair, Maliah sped away, grabbing Aramap’s face, slamming him into the ground.

"Alright, that’s enough of you" as the fin-limier stood up, he grabbed her wrist.

"You think you can leave without killing me?!" blood painted his teeth as he clutched Maliah’s arm as tightly as was possible.

"Hey, you’re a bit tougher than I thought- I am much sorry for you knigthly ego, but I am not supposed to kill certain targets" bringing her palm down again, the pleasurable sound of breaking cartilage spreading outwardly.

"Come on, go to sleep alr-" the sole of a boot covering her vision, forcing her away from the knight.

"Ah, if it isn’t the main course…" Maliah rubbed her face, not having been expecting the strength packed in that kick to be enough to her.

Over at the great wall, Loimos turned to Carnifex.

"This is why I wanted her to go first" the general said, confusing his subordinate.

The lower jaw of his bestial skull subtly lowering as he stepped closer to the projected sight.

"My Lord, were you fishing for Alisart Cleavster to expand upon the capabilities of his orderly ranks? But, is he not supposed to be unaware of its existence?" Carnifex wondered aloud, indeed, of the four special method of powers developed in Belliste, only the south had done so without realising it, making it something perfectly normal that affected the entire population, it might be the least impressive, but Loimos had deemed this evolved form of natural arts and conditions, mutated into something of its own, as the most important to acquire.

The boosts it granted upon the population of the Southern Shores might not be obvious at a glance, but if rolled over upon the entirety of the empire, it would show results beyond belief.
