Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead-Chapter 529 : First One
All undeads in the room prostrated in reverence and respect, abject torturers and horrific mind peelers in awe before their general, to the one they owed their current power and positions to.

Griar himself had no witty comments to make, frozen and silenced by his mere presence- Whether the negator had grown weaker, or if he had grown stronger since their last encounter was hard to tell, but something was certain, Loimos's presence seemed to have grown several times more domineering.
'Is he here to do it himself?' he fearfully thought, no, surely not, this didn't align with what he had shown so far, all undeads were eternal, and Loimos of all would not grow impatient with merely one of his possible conquests.
"Greetings, Lord Loimos, how did your research go?" communicating using the death tongue, Carnifex spoke up, head held low.
With a small motion, Loimos indicated for all to rise before responding.
"I am still searching" he simply said, the Erado's leader knew that this meant that the general had merely switched control over to a body still stationed here.
'Why would the general bother though?' he quickly received an answer, much too fixated on his lord, it took the undead standing behind to step forward to be noticed, all mind peelers seeming impressed.
The undead accompanying the champion naturally seemed subdued next to him, but one should make no mistake, it was one of great power, dressed in a simple dark red dress, gentle hands darkened by advanced necrosis, the undead seemed to be a woman.
Although it was not easy to tell with how bloated her head was, several times wider than the shoulder and body it sat upon, a mass of mud-like rot with eyes and brains swimming inside, countless tendrils capable of emerging from anywhere.
This undead was most definitely a mind peeler, specialised in the usage of one of the most popular energy forms after mana, mind power, those tendrils, while physical, could pierce and infiltrate one's very mind.
As the caste's name suggested, their skills were most commonly used to peel minds, similar to peeling a fruits down to its core, they took everything apart without seeking for the person they were working upon to ever recover, but they could also be more detailed, or even reconstruct one's mind as they saw fit.
It took a little while, but Carnifew eventually recognised the undead, being the leader of the mind peelers, Citil, though it seemed like she had undergone quite a few drastic changes since the last time he had seen her.
"Citil has successfully refined her mastery and graduated to becoming a mind splitter" announced Loimos, as if well aware that everyone was wondering about it, with small hand motion, he directed all attention back to Griar.
The negator was bracing for impact, although they had been speaking in death tongue, and he had thus not understood a word of it, the headless was capable of understanding that the bulbous atrocity approaching him with small steps was bad news.
Preparing for what was to come was all that could be done on his end, forearms and hands nailed to an iron chair, the same for his ankles and feet, a durable belt pinning his waist in place.
The one who lived in death was perfectly immobilised, not only restrained physically, but all in every other possible manner known to undeadkind, Griar could not circulate any energy or use battle arts even if he wanted to, the only weapon at his disposal being the determination honed throughout both life and death.
One tendrils emerged, slowly seeping into his body and through the mind, or at least, it tried.
His will was instantly put to the test, the ferocity with which that putrid corpse was trying to gain access to Griar's mind was unlike the combined efforts of all the other mind peelers and torturers, and it was just the beginning, quickly enough, all other undeads came to assist in this endeavour, Loimos simply walking away from the room followed by Carnifex and the other present members of the Erado, not even deigning to see if they would be successful.
The doors closed, and the horned undead couldn't help but ask something.
"Are you not going to wait and see the results, Lord Loimos?"
"There is no need, Citil has improved greatly, but Griar will not break down easily even with that, besides, gaining way of access to the hideout where all survivors escaped is not a priority" indeed, the most important was to properly integrate Belliste right now.
"Understood- Lord Loimos, have you discovered any of what you are seeking?" shifting attention to the mission his lord had decided to take upon himself, Carnifex did not quite see why Loimos had gone himself instead of sending his personal spies to scout for him, were they busy with another mission? Or was his own presence truly required?
"Not yet, although the quantity of ways into other realms is high, none have met the requirements necessary" and the same went for the islands and other places he had stumbled upon, many bore interesting things for certain, many of the realms he had discovered were a complete change from everything the undead empire was used to.
Indeed, it seemed like this world was not only gigantic in its own rights, but that countless realms had formed or been created linked to it as well, some even appearing to be entire worlds that for one reason or another had ended up as realms instead of their own separate world.
Some seemed deprived of all energies, some were desolate, some were already in the throes of cataclysmic events, and some even harboured undeads of their own, still, none of them had shown the qualities Loimos wanted for the minor lords to be challenged.
"How are the experiments to reach realms going here?" Loimos asked a question of his own, revealing that his spies had to be busy with something for him to not have eyes around the empire.
"Sir Unacunerra has only found a way into inferior elemental realm of earth so far"
Taking in the information, Loimos told Carnifex to return to his post before turning into a mass of rot, seeping into the floor as he returned to his incarnation scouring the world beyond the miasma.
Manifesting back into appearance of a bird, the putrescent skeleton was perched atop a beached vessel, partly submerged in water still, whoever had been upon it had either perished before crashing, or had eventually attempted to leave this island, as no remains of anything that could have operated such a ship were left upon this small strip of land.
The wildlife here consisting of coconut crabs and small mammals, nothing too extraordinary, Yuolrt would probably gush over it anyways, but that was a story for in the far future.
The undead had stopped here because it also housed yet another passage to another realm, and since cracking the method to open it up and check what was inside required some time, especially to do so in a contained and methodical manner, as Loimos could easily force it open like a brute, but that would just be the wrong way to go about things.
Hopping off his perch, he assumed his usual form before touching the sand, approaching the pulsating orb with slow steps, all creatures remaining still as they didn't even realise he was there.
Sending a bit of rot inside, Loimos found himself in an immense desert, multiple sun sending down a scorching light, the air quite literally igniting all around, small wisps of flames appearing everywhere, great fires forming upon the sand for split seconds before going out.
The horizon distorted to incredible proportions, mirages seemingly popping into existence according to their own will.
Loimos had found one.
