739: Operation Arid Soil : Part Fifty
“Dark and Radiant Undeviginti?” it was one of the other livings accompanying the bandaged one who spoke up in a daze.
“Keep quiet!
Ir- Lady Ir’Houwl… You are ruled by two Undevigintis?
A king and a queen?” the man’s gesticulations grew slow and weak, his tone suddenly much more clear.
“Indeed, I was surprised to learn of the existence of more Undevigintis when I arrived into this desert, I thought that such names were unique to our rulers” the undead made things up as easily as she did not breath, and the livings seemed to be so gobsmacked by the revelations that they failed to even consider the wild claims as lies, after all, what sort of maniac would invent something like that out of nowhere?
Even Watchful Undeviginti seemed fooled, presumably preoccupied about more of his kind being somewhere out there and fully separate entities unlike itself and the four others.
“So… You are servants of Undeviginti too?” asked the living, wanting to be completely sure that he had understood correctly.
“Indeed, well, I assume that my king and queen and the five Undevigintis here are related as they share the same name, but I can’t know for sure if it is a coincidence or not…”
“No need to doubt! freewebnøvel.com
The name of Undeviginti could not possibly be a coincidence!
Your rulers must have split off from Prime Undeviginti a long time ago and went to rule their own faraway lands!” the living was even helping her now, seemed like she hit the nail on the head with that convenient lie.
They were enthralled.
“Watchful Undeviginti wishes to know more about Dark Undeviginti and Radiant Undeviginti, would you be willing to share some information?” the one serving as the sun’s mouth brought his hands together as though ready to beg if denied, the switch up was so strong that the minor lord felt that it was suspicious.
‘That sun probably isn’t foolish enough to just believe my words at face value… It probably wants to see if my story falls apart if it presses for more information…’ she could not read the star at all, and she wasn’t very good at reading livings either, but it would just be idiotic to assume that she was so easily playing them like a fiddle with a few words.
“Sure, if you are willing to share information of your own, at least” she replied.
The living paused for a moment and then nodded.
“The watchful one agrees to your terms, but wishes to ask a question first”
“Go ahead”
“What are the titles of king and queen about?
Do your two rulers actually possess male and female attributes?”
That was a precise and odd question to ask first, she had expected to be asked to describe them and their abilities first.
“Well yes, they can take the form of humanoids and have procreated to create more suns, although none of their offspring were anywhere as powerful as their parents…” the bandaged livings jolted a bit and seemed to focus on something going on inside of his head.
“Watchful Undeviginti wants to know how that is, how that happened-”
“May I ask what is so important about this?”
“Ah yes… The watchful one says that all of the five Undevigintis of this desert are neither male nor female, and that they all seem incomplete… Watchful Undeviginti is the most aware of what is happening, and believes that the next step toward fully becoming an individual separate from the quintet is to become something that will separate them from the group, thus, becoming a being of masculinity or femininity when the rest are neither could potentially work” spoke the bandaged man, and Ir’Houwl was instantly very pleased to be having this conversation.
The suns were no gods at all, or at least, they could not be, if what the pale blue sun was saying was true, then the other four were merely instinctual beings without true thoughts or agency, they merely acted their basic nature unlike it, who had developed an ego of its own.
And was now seeking to become separate.
What it wanted didn’t really matter, what was important was that there was something that it desired, this rendered the sun much more easily manipulable, Ir’Houwl didn’t even need to be offering a solution, she just needed to give the illusion that there might be a solution lying with the two Undevigintis she made up completely, and frankly, King Nitok and Queen Maiele were actual sun experts, the undead heard that the Princess Of Death had fully discovered her own sun with the Prince Of Death’s help and that she now wielded a sun with its own mind like the sun of darkness of King Nitok.
If there was anyone that could help the Undeviginti fully realise their potentials and become individuals, it would be them for certain, Ir’Houwl truly believed so, as such, her words seemed especially truthful.
“Unfortunately, I myself do not know how my king and queen could have accomplished such a thing, but I can surely attempt to tell them about the situation here, I am certain that they won’t see any problem in assisting fellow Undevigintis” she replied, and the solar speaker stayed silent, certainly listening to his lord’s words.
“Watchful Undeviginti is disappointed, but expected that sort of answer… He has more questions but you can ask one of your own right now if you wish”
“Alright then, me and my people appeared in the middle of the desert without knowing anything about this place, so may I know just how large this place is?
And what sort of biomes surround it?” she asked, fully acting like she did not know that this was a separate realm entirely.
“The desert is all that we know, beyond the farlands, there is only an infinite void… Or perhaps not so infinite if you came from somewhere else, but Watchful Undeviginti guesses that your two rulers might have gone to different plane entirely”
‘It knows of other realms?’
“I see, then might I know more about the solar beasts?”
“Watchful Undeviginti does not know much about them, none have ever awakened during their time as sovereign of the skies”
“That is a shame… Then, may I know about the other Undevigintis here?”
“Hold on… Everyone, cover your ears” the bandaged man had his bodyguards temporarily deafen themselves.
“We are not allowed to know such intel, but it seems that the watchful one is willing to inform you, listen closely as this won’t last for long” the living’s head was suddenly thrown back and a new presence replaced his, like he had just lost consciousness as another mind took over him.
Watchful Undeviginti was using him as an avatar of sorts.
