Picking Up Attributes In Martial World-Chapter 105: Fire Hall
Falcon Fields covered the entire plateau and were bigger than Bright Star City itself. With such a big area, many types of rooms, halls, and structures were made for the disciples’ training.
Ye Jun found himself standing before a three-story pagoda. Colored deep red, it hosted the sign "Fire." This was the area where affinity-related training rooms were situated.
’There are only five basic ones here. Understandable.’
On either side of the red pagoda stood four more similar structures in different colors. Brown for Earth. Sky-blue for Wind. Deep blue for Water. And green for Wood.
These were the five basic elements of Dao, which also made up most of heaven and earth. Apparently, they were derived from Yin and Yang, though Ye Jun knew he had to research more on it.
After getting the contribution points, he had tried asking around, but no one wanted to talk with him. The reason being clear, so he also ignored them and made his way here.
’Let’s test it then.’ he smiled and entered the Fire Pagoda.
It was his main affinity, after all. So he wanted to see how much these rooms would affect him. He had a status panel to gauge his progress even in this area, after all.
Inside the pagoda, he found another senior disciple sitting at a desk doing some calculations on a scroll. Ye Jun wondered if he would get the same treatment from him.
Fortunately, he hadn’t returned Han Yuexin’s jade stone yet.
’Only an idiot would give away such valuable stuff so easily.’
He tapped on the desk, gaining the disciple’s attention as he finally looked up from his work and said, "How much time?"
"I’m a new recruit, Senior Brother, so I don’t know how this works," Ye Jun was polite and said. "So, how do these hours work?"
"Nobody explained it to you? Every year, the disciples are getting trashier," the disciple shook his head in disappointment and said. "Ten contribution points for one hour inside the Fire Hall. If you want a room, then pay twice. It’ll have a bit better concentration and you’ll be isolated. In the hall, you’ll have to share the space with others. Same is in all five pagodas, so choose carefully. Earning contribution points is hard, and these rooms consume them hungrily."
Ye Jun blinked in surprise, not really expecting the man to be kind enough to explain everything in detail, and all in a single breath. What a talent!
"Thank you so much, Senior Brother. I understand," Ye Jun smiled and said. "I’ll take care of my points. For now, I would like one hour inside the Fire Hall."
"Good choice... wait! How did you get contribution points in the first place?"
"I gave some of my things to the sect," Ye Jun explained briefly and said. "So, can I go?"
"Ah! Makes sense then. Alright, new disciple’s curiosity. Touch this jade stone with yours and mentally think of sending ten points into it. Also, it should be Qi-imbued."
After a bit of hassle, Ye Jun was finally let in. There weren’t many disciples in the corridor leading to the main hall. The directions were also pretty simple, so he soon stopped before two giant metal gates.
Doing as the manager of this place told him, he pressed the jade stone against the gates and soon, a smaller door opened on the right gate. Taking a deep breath, Ye Jun entered the hall.
"Woah!"
Inside, he found a vast hall the size of a football field. Okay, that was a bit of an exaggeration, but it was definitely very big. Yellow walls covered in a strange material he didn’t know surrounded him from all sides. There were also small symbols carved everywhere on the walls, which made him wonder if they were part of an array formation.
Small stone pedestals were laid across the floor, around a hundred in total, and many disciples were already sitting on them, meditating. Though many didn’t have good complexions, which was probably the result of staying in this hall.
After all, the most noticeable thing about the hall was the sudden rise in temperature. Heat enough to kill a mundane human was let loose in this place, or was it a side effect of having dense Fire attributes?
’The latter seems highly likely. It is probably similar to a volcano, as it contains a high density of fire attributes.’
There was something else too. Something invisible, which was affecting him from the inside. Affecting his very Qi. He felt as if something inside him was itching to erupt.
It was a strange feeling that he had to suppress, as his instincts screamed of danger if he tried to set that feeling free.
However, even in this terrible heat and environment, mixed with the strange feeling welling up inside him, Ye Jun found his lips curling up in an excited grin.
In his eyes, there weren’t any people before him. Only glowing bubbles that attracted him more than a woman attracted simps. Still, he controlled his excitement and looked around.
There was peace and silence here, broken only by the occasional groans of pain. The disciples were focused on their tasks, so no one cared about each other here.
It suited him just fine.
’One hour... let’s see how much I can make in that.’
Grinning from ear to ear, he began to do his job, aka patrolling around the disciples as if he was looking at something important before moving to a different one.
[Fire +1]

[Fire +1]
[Fire +1]
[Fire +1]
[Fire +1]
So many attributes kept pouring into him, which made it really hard for him to keep a normal expression.
’This is heaven!’ Ye Jun thought. ’I need to get rooms when I’m richer.’
Fortunately, the system had given him the ability to collect the attributes without touching them. Now, he could pick them up even from a distance, so he didn’t look like a clown jumping around.
He certainly didn’t want the sect to view him as a joker.
In around five minutes, he had covered most of the hall, so he went towards an empty stone pedestal and took his seat. Crossing his legs, he sat in a lotus position and closed his eyes.
’Fuck! Am I in a sauna or what?’
In his excitement, he had forgotten about the terrible heat waves assaulting him from every side. The fact that he moved around the hall stressed his body even more, so now he was sweating buckets.
’Wait... what is that?’
There was a strange feeling all over his body, which was also connected to the odd feeling he tried suppressing. He was still doing it, making sure it didn’t have any effects on him.
Closing his eyes, he focused on that feeling and realized there was something entering his body, or was it getting out? He couldn’t quite understand, but he was sure minor changes were taking place in his body.
Ye Jun remained seated and thought, ’This room is awesome. It is even altering my physique slightly to suit the Fire element. So this is how one becomes more resistant towards their own element?’ 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
He would have to ask someone about this later on. It was an interesting thing.
The hall was truly worth the coins.
’It is bad news.’ Ye Jun thought. ’If it changes according to your element, what happens if there are multiple elements? What if they contradict each other?’
He decided to spend some coins later in the library. There was so much he wished to learn, so that was the best place for it.
Till then, he would have to be careful about what kind of attributes he picked up.
He focused back on the thing that made this hall so precious to him. With a light smile, which was painful considering his lips had dried up, he summoned his status screen and found the words he wanted to see.
[Fire (3.88%) > Fire (3.95%)]
The increase might not seem like a lot, but Ye Jun was still very happy.
’It takes forever to increase these stats.’ he thought. ’The increase is actually a lot. I’ll have to come here often and perhaps rent a room next time.’
As he was thinking about various things, a stone pedestal began to vibrate slowly, but the rate was increasing rapidly. Soon, it would turn violent.
’The session ended so early?’ Ye Jun was quite surprised, but still stood up to leave.
The punishment for ignoring that vibration wasn’t something he wanted to experience now...
After exiting the hall, he took a bath in the bathroom which the sect made, knowing the condition of the hall.
A few minutes later, he found himself standing before the five pagodas again. He stared at them, thinking, ’They also have different environments inside probably.’
But he entered none of them. No more useless risks unless he confirmed he was safe having many affinities inside him.
