Picking Up Attributes In Martial World-Chapter 94: Proof
Ye Jun was quite happy with the progress. The comprehension rise alone was worth the trouble, not to mention the addition of two Dao Affinities. Both of which came from Han Yuexin and the Falcon.
So he was excited to look more. Looking down, his gaze went to the passive skills. Most of them had minor to decent increases, for which he was happy. Steady progress was also pretty good.
It was then he saw the addition of three new passive skills. His eyes widened in surprise, especially after seeing the daunting names of them. "The hell! That dream really gave me many things."
The first was Heaven’s Mark. When he focused on it, its information surfaced in his mind. He couldn’t identify its origin, but its effects were clear.
It increased his resistance to mental attacks and illusions by quite a bit, which was understandable. He guessed it was the reason he could handle that vision somehow.
It also gave him better spiritual stability during breakthroughs and slight protection from Qi deviation.
’Now this is what I call rewards!’ Ye Jun grinned in excitement. ’I was worried about Heavenly Tribulations, so this might help.’
The second was Fate Resonance. Like Heaven’s Mark, he couldn’t see the origin. When he tried to see its effects, he felt a headache so he quickly withdrew.
Rubbing his forehead, Ye Jun thought, ’This is similar to when I try to remember that last thing the man said in the dream. Good. I’m not touching this either.’
It was related to Fate and that alone told everything.
So he focused on the third one, Heavenly Insight. Fortunately, he could see its effects.
It gave him slightly better intuition in dangerous situations, as now he could sense abnormal Qi fluctuations earlier and react to them. Occasionally he would also feel "wrongness" when something was off.
’Wait! I already had this one.’ Ye Jun thought about instincts which worked in a similar manner. He had always trusted them. ’So, is it similar to other passive skills? I already had it so the dream just enhanced it and put it in the status screen as a skill.’
He had an inkling that he was right, but couldn’t prove it.
Ye Jun then gave a quick glance at the active skills, too surprised by the progress. As he expected, there were no major changes there. Some skills’ proficiency increased and there was also the addition of a new skill.
An Earth Rank skill!
’Nice.’
Ye Jun closed his eyes, taking deep breaths to calm down. He thought about the new skills he gained and also the change in comprehension. They came out of nowhere, as if they were gifted to him, but he believed otherwise.
He guessed that while the dream happened only in his mind, it still dropped attributes near him and he picked them up unconsciously. After all, he didn’t need to touch them to collect them now.
’It is the proof.’
He and his group were thinking of proof, but he doubted he could get anything better than this. The skills, their names, the changes in comprehension, all of it seemed to come from Heaven itself.
The thought was sobering. He had been hoping it was just a prank, but now he was sure the world was truly coming to an end. There was still a chance that this was all just a big plan of some cultivator, but he doubted it.
’Was the man the world’s manifestation or something?’
He shook his head at the thought. The man said he was already gone. If the world itself was dead, then how the hell were everyone living so peacefully? Well, as peacefully as a cultivation world could be.
’But still someone important enough. I’ll have to learn more about this world itself to learn about that man. But why did he leave such important information in a random tomb? And what about the other locations?’
He sighed, wanting to smash his head against the wall. He had just gotten his freedom and instead of enjoying it, the world threw this burden on him.
For a few minutes, he thought about the new information he got before throwing it in the back of his head. It didn’t really change any of their future plans since they still needed proof to show it to others.
Without valid proof, there was simply no way the world was going to unite. Hell, even with proof, he doubted the world would unite.
’Motherfuckers will only unite after half of their population dies. Idiots.’
For now, he decided to ignore it. There were more important things to do. So he took out the scroll of his cultivation manual and began to read it properly this time.
That’s when he realized that he could understand it very easily. Although a lot of its credit went to Meihui who used simple language for him, it was still very hard to understand for others.
How did he know that?
It was because he could remember more details than usual. Normally, unless you understood something deeply, you would forget the details as you moved forward.
It was something Meihui had taught him previously.
’Interesting.’
Afterwards, he spent the next few hours comprehending the Grand Genesis Foundation Sutra. With the increased comprehension, it proved to be easier but there were still parts he had to spend some time understanding.
Fortunately, he didn’t need anyone’s help.
At night, he stopped reading and started cultivating it. The manual required him to use a new pattern through his meridians, even using the closed meridians.
The weirdest part of it was that he had to change the pattern every time until he completed a total of one hundred and eight patterns.
Only then would he have covered every portion of his body, including all the meridians, which would help in making the circulation easier for Qi.
Then he could use the new passages opened up to imbue every single portion of his body with Qi and enhance it.
This was how he was going to build a perfect foundation for his innate Physique.
