Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence-Chapter 427 - 176: Gael Regon’s Terrifying Memories Beneath Heisen Castle (Part 4)
The outcome is beyond doubt!
Gael Regon only remembered that Divine Chosen Knight raised the Holy Sword high in the air, letting out a thunderous roar, as if summoning the forces of justice between Heaven and Earth. The Holy Sword, under the sunlight, emitted a dazzling brilliance, like a lightning bolt piercing through the darkness, stabbing straight at the heart of the Tree Demon Legion. The knights followed closely, their longswords swinging like a violent storm, with each strike bringing a bloody tempest.
The Tree Demons, though brave, were powerless in the face of these well-rested human Elite Knights. Their vines were easily severed by the knights’ longswords, and their trunks were mercilessly trampled by the iron hooves of the warhorses.
Gael Regon watched helplessly as his Tree Demon soldiers fell one by one, his heart filled with rage and despair. But under the command of the Divine Chosen Knight Commander, the human knights surged forward like an unstoppable flood, breaking through the Tree Demon Legion’s defenses, forcing them to retreat step by step.
Even Gael Regon was severely injured at the hands of a human knight, nearly losing an arm, and could only lead the remaining Tree Demon soldiers, cursing the humans’ treachery and lack of martial ethics while fleeing desperately into the depths of the forest.
This same scene had occurred at least three or four times. From a macro-strategic perspective, the Tree Demon Legion had suffered crushing defeats repeatedly.
Despite their numbers in the tens of thousands, marching mightily towards the human fortress, they fought with great frustration, and the command was a chaotic mess.
Their attacks were firmly blocked by the layers of defensive fortifications held by humans and dwarves, with no breakthrough achieved tactically.
Strategically, however, they had been defeated because during their grand siege of Heisen Castle, they encountered sudden attacks by human knights from several directions. These knights, resting well within the city, launched surprise attacks when the Tree Demon Legion was most exhausted.
At least twice they cut an entire siege Tree Demon Legion into pieces, with almost no Tree Demon able to escape. The human knights, leveraging their mobility advantage, managed to achieve complete victories in separate engagements, establishing an advantageous situation on the battlefield of many attacking few, and strong against weak. Once the Tree Demon Legion’s morale collapsed, facing pursuits by the cavalry, less than one in ten could escape, given their terrible mobility.
On one or two occasions, the cavalry corps completely crushed the Green Dragon’s Fangs in an entire direction. When the cavalry charged, fear spread immensely, and all the Tree Demons and monsters attacking the city had their morale break, fleeing from the defensive works, covering the battlefield with dense deserters.
This nearly caused Gael Regon’s venomous heart to jump out, filled with uncontrollable anger and chaotic panic.
This situation was very unfavorable for the Monster Legion, whose attacks had been consistently unsuccessful, yet the siege legions were repeatedly crushed and annihilated, dealing an unparalleled blow to morale.
At least now the Tree Demons have formed a consensus! Without restricting these human knights, they absolutely cannot breach the current human fortress.
Many Tree Demons even refused to take such great risks to continue the siege. When the human knights appeared, it almost meant certain death, and they demanded Gael Regon to reject the cruel orders of the Green Dragon Queen, or at least for the Green Dragon Queen to devise a plan that could win before they’d continue attacking.
The sound of the human knights charging had truly become an inescapably terrifying nightmare for all the monsters during the nights!
