Pirate Kingship-Chapter 714 - 477: Trisolarian Ship: Superposition State Warship (6600)
It was just the end of September and the beginning of October, the Southern Continent "Living Hatch" window period, and along the long north-south route, large and small sailing ships were coming and going in a bustling scene.
From above, one could see fleets traveling together at intervals of several miles, mostly consisting of various single-mast and double-mast cargo ships.
The outward journey started from the Bantaan Archipelago to the Great Bear Archipelago occupied by the Westwind Express, followed by Great Bear Archipelago, through the Shattered Isles, the Living Hatch to the Southern Continent or Centaur Archipelago, eventually venturing into a world resembling the Mythological Era.
The return trip began from various colonies on the Southern Continent or the Centaur Archipelago, passing through the Living Hatch, Shattered Isles to the Great Bear Archipelago, followed by Great Bear Archipelago going to Bantaan, or taking the First Circulation Zone back to the Old Continent.
But due to the size and design function of the ships being different, rarely would any ship choose to run the entire course independently; instead, different ships perform different duties, handling a segment of the route.
For instance, whaling ships were responsible for whaling near the Chasm Trench, stopping at most at the Centaur Archipelago, never wasting time on a long-distance journey that could be handled by cargo ships.
The fastest small single-mast schooner took on short-distance freight work, primarily connecting the Great Bear Archipelago and Centaur Archipelago, making at least two round trips during one window period.
Ocean-going cargo ships only reached the Great Bear Archipelago, responsible for transporting various goods from the Southern Continent via the "First Circulation Zone" back to the Old Continent.
As for large battleships?
Before colonies broke through domestic technical blockade and royal restrictions to build them themselves, this sea area would not see war machines of that level.
However, today would undoubtedly be a very special exception.
Several cargo ships flying the flag of the Rhein Alliance were cruising on the Sapphire Sea at a speed of four knots, loaded with various exploration tools, gunpowder, and daily supplies.
Their destination was the Great Bear Archipelago, transporting supplies on the outward trip, bringing back whale oil and other Southern Continent specialties on the return trip, never wasting capacity with empty ships.
Suddenly, the lookout standing on the main mast's crow's nest exclaimed:
"Captain, something seems to be catching up. What is that? It's so fast!"
The busy crew on the ship rushed to the stern, watching as a golden speck appeared on the northern sea surface, rapidly growing larger over time.
But in the eyes of the cargo ship's captain, the only Transcendent on board, that thing was not a shining dot but a radiant, splendid, blazing sun.
It moved in the same direction as their fleet, its speed increasing rapidly. In the blink of an eye, it was beside them, then swiftly vanished into the distance, once again becoming a small dot.
Compared to it, this transport fleet seemed like a turtle in front of a rabbit.
A long time later, among the crew left tongue-tied on board, someone muttered:
"The golden light looked like it was... a single-mast schooner, how could it be so fast?"
A nearby companion immediately rebuffed:
"Nonsense, it's clearly a large Garen merchant ship. Can you even count how many masts it has?"
However, even more bizarrely, others had entirely different opinions:
"Are both of you okay? That's obviously a massive battleship of Third Level or higher, can you mistake such a big ship with such big gun ports?"
"No, no, you're wrong too. It's clearly a cruiser!"
"You're mistaken; it's clearly a double-mast whaling ship..."
That blazing sun had long vanished at the horizon's end, yet the crew on the cargo ship had started quarreling amongst themselves.
Because none of them had seen the same type of sailing ship, yet all were convinced their version was the truth.
It was just like a group of blind men touching an elephant, normal perception muddled by mysterious forces, where they could only see one aspect, neither left nor right nor in the center.
When they protested and went to have the most authoritative and able Transcendent captain evaluate, they were surprised to see him shrug and smile wryly:
"Aside from dazzling golden light, I saw nothing, just knew that what passed was indeed a ship.
I suspect it must be at least a Miracle Object or a Bizarre comparable to the Middle Sequence.
You should be thankful it held no malice; if it wanted to take us out, now our entire transport fleet would probably be sunk to the seafloor."
Seeing the crew's faces full of incredulity and about to debate further, he simply frowned and commanded:
"Order, everyone back to your posts, private discussions strictly prohibited, report any anomalies immediately.
By the way, supervise each other to recite the ocean voyage taboos ten times."
Meanwhile, on the "New Golden Deer" out for a sea trial, Byron and his group had no idea that their new ship had been mistaken for a Bizarre, gradually brewing into a brand-new extraordinary legend on the sea.
Even if they overheard that conversation, it wouldn't dampen today's good mood one bit.
Because the anomaly observed by outsiders was precisely derived from the new ship's transcendent ability.
Whvrr——!
The sea breeze brushed against the cheeks, Golden Deer braving the waves.
[First Level Holy Relic: Heavy Cruiser], like the [Second Level Holy Relic: First Tudor Mixed-Sail Ship] made from teak back then, saw the brand-new teak wood quietly reach the most perfect oxidation state.
From bow to stern, it gleamed like a ship entirely made of gold.
Even the gaps between the planks were negligibly tiny, as if all the wooden structures had regrown into one perfect whole.
