Looking at the list of technologies shown on the panel, Caleb pressed the first one, Leather Archer Armor.

With it, the Archer unit would get an additional defense in DEF status by +5 points. The higher the DEF number, the higher the chance of the Archer unit staying alive.

The research was successful, the technology research panel reappeared and showed the technology being researched. Even so, Caleb was limited to researching military technology at the blacksmith.

This was because the number of researches was only allowed one for each technology research period.

Currently, Caleb was researching Leather Archer Armor technology. If he wants to do another research in a different technology, then Caleb must wait until the research is complete.

Then what if we build many blacksmith buildings? Can’t one blacksmith building only do one technology research?

Caleb had already done that, in order to gain power buff benefits quickly. Yet, every time he built a new blacksmith, he couldn’t do research because the status panel displayed was research in progress.

That made constructing many blacksmith buildings to trick the research quota pointless.

"Looks like I have to wait until the research is done," Caleb replied.

Slowly but surely, Caleb saw the progress circle which originally amounted to six, now only three remained.

The unfinished progress was the Wall and Arrow technology research at the town hall, then the stone wall progress, and the last was the production of 24 Heavy Scout units.

Caleb pressed the three panels, displayed clearly before him. Of the three, he could confirm that the stone wall progress was the first to be completed, followed by the Wall and Arrow technology, and finally the 24 units of Heavy Scout.

Not only was it displayed numerically on the panel, Caleb saw clearly that the stone wall had been arranged in a square shape, enclosing the city of Sovereign_Night in the protection of the stone wall.

From there, there were only 7 meters left for the stone wall to be completely finished. Yet, there was one important thing Caleb had yet to do if the stone wall was completed, building the stone gate.

He called the three builders from the idle villager again. Caleb pressed the stone gate menu and directed the stone gate entrance to the south.

Caleb was surprised. He saw a popup panel appear before him, saying that his resources were not enough.

Caleb was curious. He immediately opened the resources info to see the exact amount of his resources.

Two hours had passed since Caleb started the production of 24 units of Heavy Scout. Within that two-hour span, however, Caleb used his resources for other things.

His wood, food, and gold were used to research technology at the blacksmith. Meanwhile, he lost 1000 gold due to the need to establish an alliance.

Caleb tapped his forehead lightly, feeling stupid for not being able to manage the amount of resources obtained and used.

"I couldn’t manage my priorities to the point where my resources were drained beyond my control," Caleb explained.

He looked at the surrounding area, the five builders were still working to build the remaining 7 meters of stone wall.

If the stone wall was successfully built, then his town hall was officially confined within the stone wall without a stone gate.

Luckily, he had placed all of his sector resources into the stone wall’s coverage area, so even though they were confined, they could still distribute daily production to the town hall.

"Looks like I have to wait until tomorrow. That way, daily production can increase my resources," Caleb explained.

Caleb canceled his order to build the stone gate. He stepped into his town hall and arrived at his room.

Unlike before, his room now looked spacious and clean, due to the increase in the town hall level.

The man laid his body down on the bed, his head raised up to look at the ceiling of the room.

If counted by the game calendar, Caleb had been in this game for 3 weeks, many things happened and shocked him, also made him upset and sad.

"I don’t know when I’ll be able to get out of here, but I’m thankful that I’ve survived all this time," Caleb explained, appreciating himself.

"The next challenge might be tough. But I’m confident that I can do it."

Caleb closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep, not moving for 30 minutes. In the end, the system detected Caleb offline and put him to sleep in his room.

The next day.

Sovereign_Night Town Hall.

Caleb opened his eyes and saw a red dot displayed on the friend chat page. With half-sleepy eyes, Caleb pressed the page and saw messages from two people, Jennie and Liliana.

Both asked the same question, about the stone wall protecting Sovereign_Night. Liliana added something to her message, making Caleb excited.

[Liliana_P] [In three hours, the renovation of my town hall to the fourth level will be completed. I can join your alliance today]

[Caleb] [That’s good. I have another friend who wants to join my alliance. I’m sure, you two can get along well]

[Liliana_P] [Really? Who is he?]

[Caleb] [An old friend, Jennie]

[Caleb] [She’s a player by the username Jack_Hunter]

[Caleb] [She will level up the town hall to the fourth level. She will also move to a location near us]

[Liliana_P] [I don’t know, Caleb. I don’t trust strangers easily. I’m still being traumatized by CL_Ellise]

[Caleb] [Don’t worry. If she joins the alliance, she won’t be able to hurt you. That’s the basic rule.]
