Playing a DPS Role with Absolute Defense-Chapter 313 - 311: The Buddhist Sect’s Six Pure Roots!
Just as Li Yuanting was about to say something, Gongsun Mu suddenly cut her off. "Su Mo, what have you been through all these years out there?"
Su Mo thought for a moment, and then decided to lay out everything he knew.
Gongsun Mu and Li Yuanting both fell silent.
After a long pause, Gongsun Mu finally spoke. "It’s not that we don’t want to tell you—we just don’t know. You’ve always lived with Li Yuanting and her sister."
Su Mo frowned, feeling that something about this didn’t quite add up, but the memories in his mind insisted it was the truth.
Yet when he tried to overlap all his recollections with those of Li Yuanhao and Li Yuanting, there was a strong sense of disconnect.
Su Mo glanced at Li Yuanting. Li Yuanting stayed silent for a moment, then nodded.
Su Mo’s frown deepened, still getting that weird feeling, but he couldn’t tell exactly what was off. His chest felt unsettled.
"Su Mo, don’t dwell on what those folks said earlier. They’re just too young. I’ll go smooth things over.
At worst, I’ll let them out to break through to Divine Level. It’s really not a big deal. If anyone wants to leave, just let them go.
Once they’ve suffered a bit, they’ll realize how brutal the world outside really is.
If you don’t want to deal with things, that’s easy too. Didn’t you already find out Tu Hongwu is at the Western Heaven Buddhist Sect?
Go bring him back, then dump all these problems on him. You can keep being the hands-off boss.
If you still feel something’s off, your master knows way more. Maybe you’ll find answers if you ask him.
Anyway, maybe you’ll be able to figure out new ways to save the others in the outer world.
As for your servant Alice, I think keeping her on Earth is great. She can handle things for you, and report anything as soon as it happens.
Honestly, Earth’s not a problem right now. We’ve handled everything for the past twenty years..."
Gongsun Mu went on with a whole string of advice, never giving Su Mo a chance to get a word in edgewise.
Su Mo was still frowning, stuck on the problem of his memory, but in the end he just nodded—because what Gongsun Mu said did sound reasonable.
And for some reason, after being told he’d always lived with Li Yuanhao and her sister, his memories started smoothing themselves out, feeling less fractured.
Even though, in a lot of those memories, he still sensed the presence of a third person, it was starting to blur.
Really, Su Mo’s brain was actively rewriting his memories. The more he thought about it, the more they changed.
"Alright then. Master Gongsun, I’ll leave it to you. Half a month from now, whether I’ve found my master or not, I’ll be back."
Just then, Li Yuanting suddenly spoke up. "I’m heading out to find my sister!"
Su Mo frowned, then nodded. "Go for it!"
Gongsun Mu seemed like he wanted to argue, but all he did was sigh and keep quiet.
...
Great Cyan Heaven, Southern Region, Celestial Universe City
The two humans and one horse appeared—it was Su Mo, Li Yuanting, and the White Dragon Horse.
Su Mo patted the White Dragon Horse on the head, and the horse instantly grew in size, transforming into a terrifying beast thousands of meters tall in the blink of an eye.
After twenty years, the White Dragon Horse was no longer just some clueless idiot. Thanks to Alice’s ruthless tutoring, he’d even finished college coursework.
He even had a diploma! So at this point, the White Dragon Horse was basically a bright-but-dumb college grad horse.
This was one area where he’d surpassed his master—Su Mo still didn’t have a college degree, after all.
Su Mo and Li Yuanting stood atop the White Dragon Horse’s head, surveying this strange world, steering their mount toward the biggest city nearby at top speed.
This time, they had two main goals. First, to ask about the location of their original universe—how do they get there?!
Second, to see if there was anything that could save all those Human Race folks trapped in comas.
And why did they need to check out the original universe? Simple. According to what that person said, the ruins of their former universe got visits from disciples of the Space Daoist Venerable every so often, looking for things.
Also, whoever went there was a master in space-related arts, and hailed from that universe. That meant the person was either the White War God, Bai Yuanhao, or Li Yuanhao. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
They had no idea when that person would show up next, but asking around might reveal the schedule, so they could camp out and wait in advance.
Plus, they wanted to check on the state of that universe nowadays.
And to find out if any of those who attacked the Little Cosmos were still alive. If so—they’d see to it those folks died!
Their oldest master knew the exact location. He was camped in front of the Western Heaven Buddhist Sect. Maybe he did that specifically to lure Su Mo over.
The second master, Chu Tian, was up in Beiji Heaven. Both spots were way out beyond this realm—obviously really far away. So Su Mo decided to start with the closest one.
The White Dragon Horse’s monstrous body crushed the land beneath him. Its aura was so fierce, it even forced the surrounding Laws to draw back.
Every stride set the earth shuddering. The nearby cultivators all scrambled to get out of the way.
Demon Beasts and Alien Races were nothing to fear, especially in the central hub of Great Cyan Heaven, surrounded by powerful sects. No matter how strong the intruder, they’d be suppressed here.
The scary thing was the person riding on such a beast. If the mount was this scary, how strong did you have to be to sit on him?!
Not long ago, a terrifying Daoist Venerable had come to this area to face his Heart Demon Tribulation. It ended quickly—maybe the guy died right then—but the sheer power still had everyone trembling in fear.
And now, here comes another bigshot. It made everyone feel like something huge was about to go down, and all they wanted to do was run for their lives.
Celestial Universe Daoist Palace, deep inside
A man dressed in a Yin Yang Daoist Robe was watching the outside world, looking absolutely pissed.
True, Celestial Universe Daoist Palace wasn’t a mega-sect, but come on—I’m still a Daoist Master! Do all you punks really have zero respect for me?!
That last guy, here for his Heart Demon Tribulation, whatever—I let it slide. He was already crazy, I wouldn’t mess with him even if I wanted to. Judging by his aura, he’s someone I definitely can’t afford to irritate.
And now another one shows up!
Not only did they not come pay their respects to my mountain, now they’re strutting around outside!
What, does everyone think Daoist Master Tianyu is easy to bully, or do they just not care about me at all?!
This is just outrageous!
Absolutely outrageous!!!
Cursing to himself, the middle-aged man kicked over the incense burner in front of him, making a huge bang!
"Amitabha Buddha. Seems you’ve got troubles on your mind. Why not share them with this humble monk? Maybe I can help clear up your confusion."
"So, the Buddha Race still dares to show its face? I heard you folks are being stuck outside by a coffin blocking your door?"
"Sigh, it’s old history. Long ago, my Buddha Race wronged their clan. It’s not that we don’t dare strike—it’s that we can’t bear to. Anyway, our races both share a common origin.
Now, my Buddhist Sect’s three World Honored Ones have opened another dimensional gate. If he wants to keep blocking the door, let him. Honestly, the fault is ours."
The middle-aged man’s expression softened a bit, and he nodded. "So you Buddha Race types really are magnanimous. Guess the rumors exaggerated things."
"Of course. My Buddhist Sect keeps its six senses pure. Most rumors are nonsense. Wait, what the hell is that thing outside—damn!!!"
