Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You-Chapter 445: Any More Questions? No More Questions!
Although Brandon Huxley had already received the news earlier that Aether was fine, seeing concrete proof now made him quite excited.
He simply didn’t dare look at Jasper Ford.
He barely managed to suppress his laughter, fearing that seeing Jasper Ford’s face would remind him of Jasper Ford’s comments about being a dog.
This made Jasper Ford a bit puzzled.
"Why are you acting so weird, Brandon?" Jasper Ford asked, watching Brandon Huxley’s strange movements after taking over the computer.
"It’s nothing," Brandon replied.
"Were you scared?" Jasper Ford speculated, glancing over at Isla Lawson, who was still in disbelief, thinking to himself that being scared was normal.
If he suddenly learned that Ford Entertainment was about to collapse, or if an irresistible force suddenly came and made him lose the family feuds, wasting years of effort, he’d be scared too.
Meanwhile, Silas Hawthorne, who had been following behind, walked over to Serena Sterling.
He approached her side.
Upon first hearing that something had happened to Aether, Serena immediately contacted everyone relevant.
She analyzed where the problem had arisen.
Why the sudden halt above had occurred.
She didn’t panic but instead listed out all possible scenarios methodically.
No detail was spared.
She then investigated each possibility one by one.
He still remembered what she had said in the study at midnight.
"There is nothing wrong with Aether, and it has even been officially commended before. We don’t need to worry about the underlying logic, just solve the sudden related problems or individuals that have emerged."
Under the bright light, every strand of her hair shone brilliantly.
She handed him the key points she had noted down.
"Silas, take a look, is there anything you need to add?" she asked.
He reached out to take it, carefully reviewing every point on it.
"No need," he said, "it’s very thorough."
Even he couldn’t think of anything more meticulous.
"There are a few things I need you to take care of," she added.
He lowered his gaze and met her eyes.
They exchanged a smile, filled with mutual understanding. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"It’s my job," he said, "don’t worry."
Then came the overnight investigation of Aether.
Every point was verified and resolved one by one, leaving only one issue remaining.
Addressing this issue was challenging, so in the morning, after having breakfast with Serena, he went to Jasper Ford’s residence, pulled him out of bed, and went to resolve the matter.
There were people who still wanted to cause obstructions.
He just sat there; every time the other party spoke, he looked at Secretary Sawyer beside him, who would hand over the relevant documents and qualifications.
Every rule and regulation, no detail spared.
After they had given the exact locations and directions overnight, Aether had provided everything needed; to be sure, he also reviewed them carefully.
The explanations were very clear.
Completely in line with procedures.
And Jasper Ford was responsible for verbal sparring, delivering rapid-tongued responses.
The opponent was left speechless.
In the end, that person still wanted to make a fuss.
"In any case, even if the corresponding documents are submitted, we still need some time for review. Please go back and wait for a response."
Jasper Ford was so angry he started cursing.
It was initially a nonsensical sudden obstruction, clearly made difficult by someone intentionally, and now this statement was simply to stall.
And at this point, Aether could not afford any delays.
If it dragged on further, the employees would lose morale and start looking for other places to jump ship.
Silas Hawthorne put down what he was holding and looked at the opponent.
"I generally don’t like to use my status to pressure others," he said, "but I think you shouldn’t be too dismissive of me, Silas Hawthorne."
Jasper Ford nodded in agreement, "And the Ford Family too!"
The person still wanted to argue.
Pulling rank, saying, "Even if you’re Silas Hawthorne, you can’t just do as you please!"
Silas Hawthorne smiled.
He placed the water cup on the table, producing a soft thud.
Then, he said, "All documents are complete, all processes are in line with procedures, so is it me being capricious, or someone deliberately making things difficult?"
"That’s why you’re told to go back and wait for the news," the person replied.
Jasper Ford was so angry he started cursing.
Silas Hawthorne lightly tapped his finger on the table. About a minute later, someone hurriedly came over and squeezed that person aside.
"Mr. Hawthorne, Mr. Ford, sorry, this was an internal issue on our part." The person extended their hand.
Silas Hawthorne looked at them, smiling as he extended his hand to shake theirs.
"It’s ok, I completely understand," Silas Hawthorne said, "May I ask if there are any more issues with Aether now?"
"We have re-reviewed all the documents and qualifications and they are all completely compliant," the other person said, glaring harshly at the person next to them.
"Thank you for your understanding," Silas Hawthorne stood up, nodded slightly to the person, then looked at Jasper Ford and left together.
As they left, they still heard arguments inside.
"Mr. Warren, did you just let it pass like that? Silas Hawthorne was clearly exerting pressure with his status..."
"Not passing it? What’s wrong with Aether?"...
The conversation that followed was unheard by the duo.
Jasper Ford was next to him frantically ranting.
While Silas Hawthorne took out his phone and sent Serena a message.
[The issue has been resolved, Jasper and I are now on our way to Aether to find you.]
Everything was settled.
Aether.
Inside the meeting room.
Silas Hawthorne looked at Serena Sterling beside him, his eyes full of admiration.
When the issue arose, she immediately took appropriate action.
While Brandon Huxley was temporarily unable to manage Aether due to being abroad, she made the best decisions.
In the shortest time, she mobilized the right personnel, handling everything step by step.
Resolving one issue after another.
She rooted out internal saboteurs and tackled the external issues.
What he and Jasper Ford did was important, but it was just one part of the equation.
While she commanded the overall situation.
Each person involved only needed to handle their tasks thoroughly and orderly.
While they were handling the issues, she managed to deter Isla Lawson from making one’s way midcourse through The Lawson Corporation.
He liked her that way.
Admired her that way.
Julian Lawson had overshadowed her brilliance too much, making the world put too many labels on her.
Serena Sterling lifted her eyes, looking at Silas Hawthorne beside her.
She nodded to him with a smile.
"You’ve worked hard," she said.
In truth, he didn’t need to personally go; he could have sent his subordinates, but because he valued her first project, he personally went with Jasper Ford to ensure it was resolved as soon as possible.
She understood all of this.
"It’s my job," he replied, understanding her intent.
At that moment, Isla Lawson realized what was happening.
She glared furiously at Serena: "So, Serena, don’t think that relying on Silas Hawthorne will leave you unscathed! I can still sabotage Aether!"
Jasper Ford, awakened early and experiencing numerous frustrations, was already angry.
Now Isla Lawson had the audacity to make such shameless remarks, threatening to ruin the investment project that he had painstakingly secured the approval for from the elder Ford.
He became even angrier.
"Isla Lawson, the Lawson Family is indeed strong, but does The Lawson Corporation really think it can take on both Ford Group and Hawthorne Group at once? Even Julian Lawson couldn’t do that; maybe you should weigh yourself first!"
