Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You-Chapter 503: Your Family Is Waiting for You
The car drove all the way to the hospital.
At the hospital, everyone waited anxiously.
"Can Ethan Lynch bring Sheila Jenkins over?" Xander Linton doubted, "According to what I know, the relationship between the mother and daughter is very poor."
Jasper Ford also shook his head.
Everyone looked at each other.
"My brother took people with him, even if Mrs. Jenkins didn’t want to come herself, my brother would drag her here," Bianca Lynch said, wiping her tears.
Only then did everyone nod.
Time ticked by.
Just when everyone almost couldn’t help but call Ethan Lynch, footsteps echoed from the end of the corridor.
Sheila Jenkins hurried over, her face still streaked with drying tears.
"I’m here, where’s Serena?" Sheila Jenkins said.
Bianca Lynch immediately came over and led her aside.
Donned in appropriate gear, Sheila Jenkins was taken to Serena Sterling’s side by the relevant personnel.
Serena was still in emergency care at the moment.
Her body was covered in various instruments.
"Beep-beep-beep—"
Various monitors blared alarms.
"The situation is dire, administer another shock!"
The doctors sprang into action.
Soon, Sheila Jenkins arrived at Serena’s side.
Seeing Serena’s battered appearance, the tears that Sheila had just managed to control started flowing again.
Serena was repeatedly compressed and released, again and again.
Sheila Jenkins continually shook her head.
"Serena, it’s me," Sheila Jenkins said softly, "I understand now, the past was my fault."
"Serena, hang in there, okay? Mom will wait for you to wake up, and we can clear everything up."
"Beep-beep-beep..."
The heart monitor beside them turned into a flat line, shrieking sharply.
"The patient’s condition is worsening, the heartbeat..."
The rescue continued.
Sheila Jenkins watched it all, feeling increasingly distraught and anxious.
"Serena, Silas isn’t dead yet, and Seraphina is still under treatment."
The rescue room was a stark, cold white.
Beneath the shadowless lamp, Serena’s eyes remained tightly shut.
Sheila Jenkins continued, "We’re all waiting for you, Serena, Serena, as long as you’re okay, everything will be okay."
"We have a long road ahead, and a happy life to live. Serena, isn’t what you always wanted a family?"
"Blood pressure abnormal, breathing paused," the nurse immediately reported, prying open Serena’s eyelids, "Pupils dilated..."
Sheila Jenkins’s tears fell like rain, her voice even trembling.
She cried out, "Serena, all your family is waiting for you. Do you really want to leave us?"
Still, Serena was being compressed and released repeatedly.
Everyone in the rescue room felt a tight squeeze in their chest.
Numerous people watched the lifeless Serena beneath the shadowless lamp, tense with anxiety.
Some had already begun shaking their heads in despair.
Sheila Jenkins cried out in anguish, almost unable to breathe from the heartache.
Were they really about to lose Serena?
Her daughter, a daughter she didn’t even get to apologize to...
"I’m sorry, Serena, it’s all my fault over the years. Can you forgive me?"
Countless emotions choked Sheila Jenkins, leaving her able only to cry out silently.
"Serena, I beg you, please don’t go, okay?"
Finally, Sheila Jenkins croaked, "Serena!"
At this moment—
"Beep, beep, beep..."
The heart monitoring device showed signs of a heartbeat once more.
Everyone looked over.
A surge of joy!
Sheila Jenkins watched as the medical staff swiftly administered treatment, clutching her hands tightly, too afraid to even take a deep breath, fearing that any movement might disrupt everything.
Who knows how much time passed—
"The patient’s condition has stabilized slightly, continue..."
Sheila Jenkins’s knees gave way, and she collapsed to the ground.
Cold sweat soaked her clothes, leaving her utterly drained.
Someone came over to help her, but Sheila Jenkins just waved them away, directing them to tend to Serena.
...
Outside the rescue room.
Everyone was waiting outside.
No one knew what was happening inside; they could only wait. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
The resuscitation and surgery lasted a long time.
First, Seraphina was wheeled out. Seraphina had been frightened, with some wounds needing stitching, but all were now treated.
"Luckily, Seraphina already had her heart surgery done before, or we wouldn’t know what to do now," Jasper Ford said.
The few who knew the situation nodded.
Though there was still an impact, if Seraphina hadn’t had surgery and was taken away by Preston Langley, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Seraphina was taken to a ward to regain consciousness after some time.
More time passed.
At an unknown pre-dawn hour, Silas Hawthorne and Julian Lawson were wheeled out almost simultaneously.
Silas Hawthorne’s head and body were wrapped in bandages.
"The bullet has been extracted, and the head wound has been treated."
A colleague close to Ethan and Bianca remarked to them, "The bullet didn’t hit the heart, but it was very close. The wound tore multiple times later, causing massive blood loss. It’s a miracle he managed to carry on for so long, any longer and he’d be a goner."
Clara Huxley heard this and burst into tears again. June Hawthorne and Orion Hawthorne were also terrified, especially Orion Hawthorne.
"Brother, you almost kicked the bucket there," Orion Hawthorne said, his voice shaking.
Then he received a punch from June Hawthorne.
"Quick, spit, spit, spit!" June Hawthorne scolded him.
Orion Hawthorne quickly spat, spat, spat while holding his head.
Silas Hawthorne was also taken to the ward, but no one left, they kept anxiously waiting there.
The next moment, Julian Lawson was wheeled over too.
"The patient’s life isn’t under significant threat, and the shoulder stab wound has been sutured, but..." the doctor paused briefly.
"Doctor, what’s wrong with my brother?" Isla Lawson asked immediately.
The doctor sighed heavily, carefully choosing his words as he looked at Julian Lawson on the hospital bed.
"His leg..." the doctor said, "Let’s see if active treatment and rehabilitation can help, but be prepared for the possibility of him being in a wheelchair for life."
The elderly couple from the Lawson Family nearly collapsed, Isla Lawson and Jude Chaucer supported them immediately.
"Grandpa, Grandma, my brother being okay is the most important thing," Isla Lawson’s voice trembled slightly, "Plus, he can continue to be treated; there’s a chance he’ll recover."
Actually, earlier at the factory, seeing Julian Lawson’s leg bent at an abnormal angle, Isla already had a bad premonition, and now...
Old Master Lawson was already in poor health, and now he almost crumpled entirely.
"Quick, get them to the ward, or we’ll have another person to rescue!" Old Master Ford remarked.
Jude Chaucer and Isla Lawson immediately leapt into action to handle it.
Old Master Ford shook his head, exchanging a glance with Zink and Matriarch Quentin.
