Plotting with You: The Forensic Scientist in Ancient Times!-Chapter 293 - 292: Testing Her Skills
Zhu Yu had just finished speaking when Fu Luβs large figure burst out like a gust of wind, freezing Chef Li in place with shock as he looked at Zhu Yu. π§πβ―β―π€β―π£πβ΄πππ.ππ°π
No matter how oblivious he was, he knew who lived in Li Gardenβit was none other than the noble guest of the Prince Mansion, the son-in-law whose rank surpassed even the Prince himself!
That burly man, without a doubt, was the personal attendant by that nobleβs side, and this "Little Yuβer" could call him out with just a word...
Remembering how heβd been bossing someone around these days to help, Chef Li broke into a cold sweat.
Fortunately, Zhu Yu had no time to deal with him. After calling out Fu Lu, she quickly told him, "All of the Pang Family members have been put down. Iβm not sure how long Yan Daoxinβs sedative will last. While theyβre still unconscious, quickly tie them up tightly!"
Fu Lu had been waiting for this moment. He immediately agreed, striding off quickly and soon returned with a large bundle of rope, busying himself with tying people up.
Zhu Yu sat in the courtyard, choosing a spot with a wide view, leaning against a wall to avoid any Pang Family member suddenly appearing from any direction. She watched leisurely as Fu Lu repeatedly passed by, carrying the unconscious, tightly bound Protectors of the Pang Family like they were little chicks.
Although these bloodless tactics werenβt the most honorable, they certainly felt satisfying, making her feel like all the hard labor sheβd done over the past few days had vanished.
However, her joy and sense of achievement hadnβt lasted long when someone suddenly appeared from behind the shadow wall at the gate. Before she could see who it was, she heard a loud voice: "Whatβs going on?! Why is there no one guarding the gate? Where did everyone sneak off to?"
Upon hearing this voice, Zhu Yu inwardly cried that it was bad news and started running inside, yelling to Fu Lu as she ran, "Fu Lu, come quickly! Weβve got a straggler!"
The newcomer entering from outside saw the empty front yard and realized something was wrong. Seeing Zhu Yu running inside, he immediately gave chase.
He was much taller than Zhu Yu, with longer legs, and the distance between them was quickly closing.
Hearing Zhu Yu shouting, the man hurriedly rushed forward, reaching an arm around to clamp her mouth shut and tried to restrain her arms.
Before Zhu Yuβs brain could react, her body responded instinctively.
She fiercely rammed the back of her head into the pursuerβs face, striking hard enough to hit his nose bridge.
The man flinched in pain, instinctively tilting his head back to avoid further impact. Zhu Yu seized the opportunity to kick backward, her heel hitting his most vulnerable spot.
The combined upper and lower attacks overwhelmed him; the Pang Family Protector instantly released his grip on Zhu Yu, bending over like a boiled shrimp.
Zhu Yu hesitated briefly, debating whether to seize the opportunity to strike him again, but quickly dismissed the thought.
Knowing she couldnβt overpower him, the most sensible move was to escape rather than risk losing this successful sneak attack.
And so she sprinted forward.
The pain in the manβs body hadnβt abated, but seeing Zhu Yu run, he could only grit his teeth and continue pursuing her.
This time, however, his luck wasnβt as good. He barely took two or three steps before Fu Lu came charging head-on, landing a solid punch on his face that dropped him instantly, without even a grunt.
"Madam, are you all right?" Fu Lu kicked the man, making him roll a few times, then quickly asked Zhu Yu.
Zhu Yu waved her hand: "Iβm fine, Iβm fine. Bind him up and isolate him. From how he spoke at the entrance, he seems to be the steward among this lot."
Without another word, Fu Lu firmly tied up the man and hauled him off to another room.
However, having encountered a straggler, Zhu Yu felt a bit unsettled and followed closely behind Fu Lu, fearing any other Pang Family thugs had been overlooked.
Fortunately, her concern didnβt become reality; there was only that one. Yan Daoxinβs secret remedy was indeed potent; until Fu Lu had firmly tied everyone up and locked them away, none of them awoke.
And the one Fu Lu had knocked out with a punch also had a sedative pill forced into his mouth and was unlikely to wake any time soon.
"Madam, what should we do now?" Fu Lu asked.
Zhu Yu thought for a moment: "We donβt know if the Pang Family has other plans outside or how many allies and supporters they have in the capital.
In the Prince Mansion, we can only rely on you, me, and Yan Shu, which is far from enough.
Doing anything rash now would be risky.
Hereβs the plan: quietly head to the prison later, find Chief Historian Wen Qiming, and after dark, bring him to the Prince Mansion. Make sure no one outside sees him; be as discreet as possible."
Fu Lu patted his chest: "Donβt worry, Iβll handle it without any problems!"
It was still early, and it wasnβt time to fetch Wen Qiming yet. Zhu Yu instructed Fu Lu to keep an eye on the Pang Family Protectors or thugs while she went to the main hall to check on the Miao Family.
There were no longer any Pang Family guards outside the main hall, allowing Zhu Yu to reach the door unobstructed. She could vaguely hear Pang Yuzhen and Zhu Ning talking inside, but she didnβt hear Miao Familyβs voice.
However, the two side rooms were quiet, one with its door ajar and seemingly unoccupied, so Zhu Yu thought no more and directly pushed open the door to enter.
Her sudden entrance startled everyone inside; Pang Yuzhen and Zhu Ning looked towards the door nervously, with Miao Family kneeling beside the table where they sat.
From overhearing the mother and daughter talking earlier, Zhu Yu guessed they werenβt currently tormenting Miao Family, but had been making her kneel on the side while they did as they pleased.
All three turned their gaze to the doorway, surprised to see Zhu Yu standing there, momentarily at a loss.
Initially, seeing Miao Family weakly kneeling off to the side made Zhu Yu furious, and she almost rushed to call out to Miao Family, but seeing their puzzled expressions reminded her of the disguise on her face, which they hadnβt recognized.
In her moment of hesitation, Zhu Ning recognized the Prince Mansion servant uniform on Zhu Yu, snapped out of her confusion, and impatiently glanced at her: "Why did you come empty-handed? Whereβs my motherβs and my breakfast?"
