Chapter 50 -50: Want Me

Cheng Lu hurriedly opened the rear car door, and Zhou Jin’an got in with Qiao En in his arms.

“Director Zhou, are we going to the hospital?”

Cheng Lu returned to the driver’s seat, started the engine, and the Maybach swiftly merged into the traffic.

Zhou Jin’an glanced at the woman in his arms; she wasn’t sleeping peacefully, but she unusually didn’t push him away, her arms still wrapped around his waist.

“Back to Chu Garden.”

Zhou Jin’an hesitated for a moment, then made a decision.

Half an hour later, Qiao En was lying on Zhou Jin’an’s large bed.

She lay spread-eagled, in a rather unladylike manner.

Zhou Jin’an went to the bathroom to wet a towel and wiped her face, then cleaned her palms and feet thoroughly.

Her body was flushed, and a thin layer of sweat had formed.

He reached to unbutton her outer garment when Qiao En suddenly lost control of her emotions, swinging her hand wildly.

Zhou Jin’an couldn’t dodge in time and was struck by her slaps several times.

“Bastard, get away!”

Qiao En mumbled words under her breath, her brows furrowed tightly, and she tossed and turned on the bed.

Zhou Jin’an had no idea why Qiao En had drunk so much or what had upset her, but he had a way to find out.

“Find out who she met today, what happened—I want the most detailed version.”

He dialed Cheng Lu’s number.

“Yes, Director Zhou.”

Cheng Lu took the order and hurried to investigate.

On the bed, Qiao En was still flailing her hands around.

Zhou Jin’an walked over and grabbed Qiao En’s hands, “Don’t be afraid, it’s me.”

He coaxed her in a soft voice.

Finally, her hands stilled, and he held them firmly in his own, sitting slanted on the edge of the bed, keeping Qiao En company.

In front of him, she was always impeccably presented and appeared strong and optimistic—never had he realized that inside, she was so fragile.

“So hot!”

After some time, Qiao En began to get restless again.

She pushed Zhou Jin’an away and started to tear at her outer garment.

Her body felt like a piece of red-hot coal, which was frightening to look at.

“Qiao En, what’s the matter with you?”

Zhou Jin’an touched Qiao En’s face, and when his hand felt her burning cheeks, she suddenly grabbed it.

She pressed her entire face against his hand, “So comfortable!”

She rubbed her face against his palm, and Zhou Jin’an’s frown deepened as he suddenly realized something.

At the same time, Qiao En slowly opened her eyes, her gaze blurred and scattered.

Using the strength from Zhou Jin’an’s hand, she propped herself up.

“Take me!”

As she said this, she grabbed his large hand and pressed it against her chest.

Her full and firm breasts felt delicate to the touch, and Zhou Jin’an’s hand was involuntarily placed upon them, triggering a familiar tremor within him.

Zhou Jin’an didn’t move; he simply stared at Qiao En with furrowed brows, not looking away for a second.

She leaned in and kissed him on the lips.

Their lips and teeth met, the sound of desire calling out.

She eagerly sought to possess him, pushing him down, her whole body pressing against his.

Since she had asked for a break, intimate contact between Zhou Jin’an and Qiao En had been rare.

He was a passionate, upright man; Qiao En had always lived in his heart, and he also desired to become one with her physically.

Moreover, with her being so proactive now, his suppressed desires, like an unleashed wild beast, could not be held back.

He flipped over, pressing her beneath him.

Their gazes locked, a contest of desires.

“Do you know who I am?”

Zhou Jin’an suddenly asked.

He never took advantage of someone in peril.

If Qiao En had been drugged and couldn’t remember him, he would never take her.

Zhou Jin’an’s eyes were ablaze as he stared at Qiao En, hoping she would nod and say she knew.

That way, he could unite with her openly and rightfully.

However, Qiao En’s reaction left him disappointed.

She looked at him for a moment, and then the light in her eyes extinguished.

“Let me go, let me go!”

Qiao En struggled violently, like a slippery loach trying to escape from underneath Zhou Jin’an.

She had sparked the fire herself, yet resisted his closeness.

Zhou Jin’an couldn’t bear it any longer, he loosened his grip.

Qiao En jumped off the bed and darted into the bathroom.

Through a closed door, Zhou Jin’an could hear the sound of the running water inside.

He got up from the bed and went straight to the bedroom’s balcony.

It was drizzling outside, patter patter, the air too was damp.

He lit a cigarette and faced the wet drizzle, inhaling it puff by puff.

The smoke swirled around him, but couldn’t obscure the worries in his heart.

So it turned out she was that unwilling to be entangled with him.

Even when she was nearly unconscious, as soon as she heard his name, as soon as she recognized his face, her instinct was to flee.

The cigarette was crisp, yet bitter, forming a fog in Zhou Jin’an’s heart that seemed to have no end.

After standing on the balcony for quite a while, Zhou Jin’an returned to the room.

The bathroom door was tightly shut, the sound of the water continued.

Zhou Jin’an picked up a coat and walked out. Passing by the bathroom door, he raised his hand and knocked, “I’m leaving. You can sleep here tonight.”

There was no response from the bathroom.

Zhou Jin’an paused for a moment and then asked, “Qiao En, are you still in there?”

The sound of the running water was still the only answer.

He turned the doorknob, but the door was locked from the inside.

Zhou Jin’an quickly went to the drawer to find a spare key and the moment he opened the door, he was stunned.

Qiao En was lying in the bathtub filled with water, completely soaked.

She would rather hurt herself in such an extreme way than let him touch her.

Zhou Jin’an felt his heart sink to the bottom.

The water flowed from the tub, spilling out; Qiao En’s head lolled against the edge of the tub, her face deathly pale, her arms limply hanging at either side of the tub.

Dark clouds covered Zhou Jin’an’s face, his eyes as deep as an unfathomable thousand-foot-deep pool.

He scooped Qiao En out of the bathtub in one swift movement and forcefully tore off the clothes that were clinging to her body.

Her skin had turned pale from soaking and was almost cold to the touch.

Zhou Jin’an carried her to the bed, tucking Qiao En into the quilt.

He called Dr. Liu’s phone but hung up just as it connected.

Dr. Liu was the Zhou family’s family doctor, but Zhou Jin’an did not feel assured; he commanded Cheng Lu, “Call Ding Hao to come to Chu Garden.”

About twenty minutes later, Ding Hao appeared.

He wasn’t wearing his white coat and carried a medical bag upstairs.

“You’re not going to let people sleep? Zhou Jin’an, I’m a doctor who saves lives, not a servant of the Zhou family,” Ding Hao complained as he tossed the medical bag onto the floor with a thud.

Though he seemed reluctant, his eyes swiftly and sharply glanced towards Zhou Jin’an’s bed.

On the bed lay a small, curled-up figure. Ding Hao caught a glimpse of the tip of the iceberg and his thoughts took a skewed turn.

Teasing, he said, “No way, changing your taste again? Didn’t you always like them busty and curvy? Why go for this kind of pale skinny type now?”

“What’s so good about this woman? No chest, no hips, no charm, tell me, what are you after? Playing some kind of nurture game?”

Ding Hao’s mouth ran with unchecked teasing.

Zhou Jin’an didn’t respond but used most of his body to shield Qiao En.

“Quit your blabbering. You’re here to treat someone,” he said.

“My consultation fees are very high,” Ding Hao remarked as he leaned on the single sofa by the door, raising his price on the spot, trying to take advantage of Zhou Jin’an’s urgency.

Without a word, Zhou Jin’an took out a check, wrote a string of numbers in a swipe, signed it, and handed it to Ding Hao.

“Is this enough?”

Ding Hao took it, carefully checked the numbers, finding the six-figure consultation fee quite generous.

He wasn’t short on money; he just enjoyed the feeling of Zhou Jin’an needing his help and being able to take advantage of the situation.

“This will do,” Ding Hao said with a smirk of satisfaction. He opened the medical bag, took out some basic examination tools, and then approached the bed.

“What’s wrong with this person?”

Ding Hao hadn’t yet seen Qiao En’s face clearly, only feeling that the person’s profile seemed familiar.

“Accidentally ingested a sedative.”

Ding Hao gave Zhou Jin’an a meaningful look, a cold sneer escaping from his nose.

“Heh, I wouldn’t have guessed that despite your official-like demeanor, you sure play dirty!”

However, when he saw the woman on the bed clearly, the smile on Ding Hao’s face froze.
