Pokémon Court-Chapter 478: Moonblast’s Mutation
Chapter 478 - Moonblast's Mutation
"Darkrai, wake up!!"
Albus shouted loudly. The moment he spoke, the Aura Sphere struck the device on Darkrai's waist once again, and the sound of cracks spreading quickly echoed out.
Unfortunately, no matter how hard they tried, the dream device seemed almost unbreakable. Up until now, there were no signs of it being destroyed.
"It's too tough."
Terrance was troubled, unsure of how many attacks it would take to completely destroy the device; they were running out of time.
"Lucario and Altaria are already badly injured. Even if we had more time, their stamina might not be enough to keep them going." Albus was equally worried. Relying on Aura, he could directly perceive the condition of the two Pokémon.
As for Darkrai, even though it was being attacked by two Pokémon, its injuries appeared to be much lighter than theirs!
"Is there no other way?!"
Terrance's hand reached for the Poké Balls at his waist, but he resisted the impulse.
It wasn't that he didn't trust Castform and Gallade... but compared to Darkrai, there was still a huge gap in their strength.
This gap meant they couldn't hold their own against Darkrai the way Mega Altaria and Lucario could. If they made a single mistake and got hit by Darkrai's attacks, they could suffer deadly injuries, further diverting Terrance's focus.
At that point, not only would they fail to coordinate effectively, but they might also end up hindering the battle rhythm of Lucario and Mega Altaria.
"Terrance, it looks like we'll still have to rely on Fairy energy to destroy the dream device." Albus's voice echoed in Terrance's mind.
"There isn't much time left. Let's go all in." He gazed at the device on Darkrai's waist. It was now covered in cracks, yet it still showed no signs of complete destruction. This made both Albus and Terrance anxious.
Mega Altaria's Moonblast took too long to charge, and after being used once, its Fairy energy became something Darkrai was extremely wary of, making it far less likely to cause damage to the dream device compared to moves like Aura Sphere.
Moonblast can be considered Altaria's most proficient Fairy-type move. Aside from that, none of its other Fairy-type moves were nearly as effective.
"If it unleashes Moonblast at full power..." Terrance calculated in his mind. If Darkrai was hit directly, it would definitely suffer significant damage. However, Terrance couldn't guarantee whether the dream device would be completely destroyed.
If it wasn't destroyed... Although Mega Altaria wouldn't become completely powerless, it would definitely enter a temporary state of energy depletion, making it unable to continue fighting.
At that point, Mega Altaria's combat power wouldn't recover in the short term, leaving only Lucario to hold the line. And once more time passed, Terrance would no longer be able to sustain Mega Evolution. So it's not wrong to say that they're going all in.
Albus took a deep breath. He, too, had made a major decision. If Mega Altaria's full-power Moonblast still couldn't destroy the device, then...
He would have no choice but to sacrifice the last of his Aura entirely—to empower Lucario. At that point, with the dream device covered in cracks and Darkrai pushed to its absolute limits, they would still have a chance!
But if he did that, with the little time he has left... wouldn't that be the end for him?
"Oh well, only a few months are left anyway..." Albus muttered, his expression calm.
At worst, the worst-case scenario was simply dying here on Nightmare Island. That had been his destined outcome long ago. Though Aura power had delayed that fate, if everything was ultimately meant to return to how it was... Albus could accept it.
At the very least, he had already experienced many incredible moments.
"Lucario, go!" For the first time, Albus shouted out his command.
"Altaria, use Moonblast with all your strength!" Terrance furrowed his brow and turned his head to shout.
This was truly an all-or-nothing gamble!
Whether it was Mega Altaria and Terrance or Lucario and Albus, they had all pushed themselves to the absolute limit.
The sheer strength of this Darkrai had made their every move incredibly restricted.
"Your willpower has given you the strength to survive, but at the same time, it has made it even harder for you to break free from your shackles." Albus smiled bitterly, unsure how to evaluate Darkrai.
At this moment, Lucario raised its right hand while pressing its left hand against the ground. As it pushed off using force, the ground let out a violent rumble. Before their very eyes, large cracks rapidly spread across the cave floor, deep fissures splitting through the terrain.
Lucario had also pushed itself to its limits, dashing forward at an incredible speed, akin to Extreme Speed, and arrived in front of the floating Darkrai.
"Lucario!"
Aura Sphere—generated from deep within, channeling Aura power—was launched straight at the opponent. In theory, as long as it was locked on to the opponent's Aura, the attack was guaranteed to hit!
However, the way Lucario was using Aura Sphere right now... was a little unusual!
A deep blue light enveloped its entire body, with Aura power concentrated in both of Lucario's hands. Yet, instead of releasing that Aura outward, it seemed to be channeling it into itself, launching a rapid assault on Darkrai.
"Aura power is coursing through Lucario's whole body. Right now, to Lucario, its entire body serves as its eyes, capturing every movement of Darkrai." Albus's expression was solemn.
At the same time, though this allowed Lucario to take control of the battlefield and barely suppress Darkrai on its own, the strain was immense, and the energy consumption was not insignificant.
"Yiii!!!"

Just as Darkrai attempted to counterattack, Lucario closed in, unleashing a rapid combination of moves. Using Aura to track its opponent's actions, it sealed every one of its movements!
"Bang! Bang! Bang!!!"
With Aura power covering its entire body, Lucario's stamina was depleting rapidly, but in turn, its physical capabilities were reaching terrifying levels. At this moment, Lucario's body coordination had reached an almost unbelievable degree—even Terrance was astonished, to the point of wondering if Lucario had undergone specialized Pokémon Contest training. Its control over itself was simply too perfect.
"Altaria, seize this opportunity and attack!" But Terrance's focus remained on Mega Altaria. The bright moonlight illuminated the cavern ceiling, as streaks of starlight seemed to tear through space, piercing the darkness and descending with a resounding force!
However, this process was not as simple as everyone had imagined. Without anyone noticing, the light from the Mega Ring on Terrance's wrist quietly merged with Mega Altaria.
The Moonblast move... suddenly mutated!
As moonlight poured down, countless specks of starlight gathered, converging into what seemed like a cascade of falling stars, bombarding Darkrai!
