Pokemon: Spiritual Master-Chapter 533: Gengar: Here’s Something Fun for You
Chapter 533 - Gengar: Here's Something Fun for You
"We—we're gonna be crushed!!"
Just as the residents of Opelucid City thought they had survived a doomsday-level ice catastrophe, they now looked up in terror as the massive airship hurtled toward them. Their nerves, barely recovering, tensed once again.
RUMBLE!!
Explosions mixed with falling snow, the darkened sky blotted by the vast falling warship. Its presence pressed down like the weight of the world.
"There's no time to escape..." Despair washed over the citizens.
Shaga stood firm, freshly victorious over Vio, his Haxorus ready at his side.
After the initial shock, Shaga's expression hardened.
As the Gym Leader of Opelucid's Dual Dragon Gym, and as the city's mayor, there were responsibilities he could not run from—he had to face this head-on.
Even if he knew it was impossible to stop that sky-falling behemoth, he had to try.
"All of you!!" Shaga roared. "Evacuate immediately! I'll buy us time!!"
His heavy voice, amplified through the city's broadcast system, echoed far and wide.
Flee?
The people, once paralyzed with fear, jolted at his words.
That's right!
They had Shaga. They had Cynthia, Caitlin, Wanlong, Lenwu—
And most of all—they had Teacher Johan.
The image of Mewtwo blocking Kyurem's Ice Cannon, the way it ripped the cannon apart—engraved in every heart.
"Ditching Kyurem too... Cold-blooded but effective," Johan murmured atop a tall building downtown.
Indeed, Colress didn't hesitate. Had he tried to flee with Kyurem, Johan would've stopped him—but by abandoning both the warship and Kyurem, he erased any chance of pursuit.
Fwoosh—
Mewtwo reappeared beside Johan, its psychic aura pulsing.
But before it could act, Johan stopped it with a hand.
Mewtwo looked puzzled.
This ship, if it crashed... Opelucid wouldn't survive.
Johan rolled up his sleeves and smiled, "Save your strength for the real threat."
The real threat?
Mewtwo's eyes narrowed.
Kyurem.
As for the ship—
"Leave it and the Plasma goons to us," Johan said, turning to Cynthia.
She nodded calmly, unflinching. "Garchomp."
ROAR!!
Her Garchomp howled beside her.
A moment later, a Key Stone in Cynthia's hand glowed brilliantly, enveloping Garchomp in radiant energy.
Mewtwo paused to watch, its gaze softening.
Having felt that bond during its own Mega Evolution, it now truly understood—this was the strength that came from unity between trainer and Pokémon.
It made Mewtwo's inner confusion fade.
Human or Pokémon—what they were didn't matter.
"Mega Evolve!" Cynthia called out.
ROAR!!
Mega Garchomp appeared, sleek and deadly.
Cynthia smiled faintly, cape fluttering, one hand on her hip, the other raised.
The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.
"Garchomp, Dragon Rush!"
Mega Garchomp, cloaked in fearsome purple-blue energy, roared and launched itself at the falling warship.
Caitlin was not far behind. Hovering off the ground, her psychic powers surged, her long hair drifting like silk.
Beside her, Gothitelle, Type: Null, and a number of Psychic-types all unleashed their power.
Though weaker than Mewtwo, together they could delay the ship's fall.
Even Mewtwo turned its head in mild surprise.
Meanwhile—
Johan moved.
As a bright white light burst forth, Gengar flashed a toothy grin and gave Mewtwo a "V for victory."
"Gengar, Mega Evolve!!"
Mewtwo watched intently. As light engulfed Johan and Gengar, it sensed something.
Same Mega Evolution. Same trainer.
Yet the bond between Johan and Gengar felt stronger.
If Mega Evolution had added "1" to Mewtwo's power, Gengar's felt like a solid "3".
Even Mewtwo realized—it had much to learn from Gengar.
Shaga, Wanlong, Lenwu—all were watching.
Shaga relaxed slightly.
With Johan, Cynthia, Caitlin united, and himself added in, they just might win time for the city's people to escape.
He looked up at the ship and inhaled deeply. "Altaria!!"
Meanwhile—
Mega Gengar took form, its head covered in spikes, and its third eerie yellow eye blinking open.
"Gengar!"
Johan exhaled. Mega Evolving Gengar was far easier than Mewtwo.
"Ka-kaah!!" Gengar stuck its tongue out, crouching low with glee.
Caitlin and her Pokémon enveloped the ship in psychic fields, slowing its descent.
"I can't hold it long!" she gasped, sweat beading her forehead.
ROAR!!
Mega Garchomp reached the ship's bow and pushed with all its might.
"Dragonite! Ninetales!"
"Draaa!!"
Dragonite appeared beside Garchomp, its body radiating berserker rage.
Outrage—activated!
"Oowoo!!"
Ninetales unleashed the frigid energy it had absorbed earlier.
Permafrost Wall!
A towering ice barrier and shimmering aurora shields formed above the city.
Temperatures plummeted once more.
Shaga saw and bellowed into the broadcast system:
"All Pokémon capable of Light Screen or Reflect—lend your power to Teacher Johan!"
Trainers and residents alike responded, summoning Pokémon to erect barriers.
Still—
This only slowed the ship's descent.
And Gengar?
It had yet to make a big move.
Or rather, it was quietly doing something enormous.
It was... opening a spatial rift.
Confident in its mastery of ghost-type powers, Gengar pulled out its ace—
A smartphone.
Digital Pet—online!
In the Distortion World, Giratina watched a small island float by, peeking into a glass shard at a child's phone screen when it suddenly felt something.
Gengar?
They chatted often.
"Ka-kaah!!" (Lend me your power!!)
Giratina perked up.
Big fight?
It didn't hesitate.
"Garrr!!" (No problem!)
Curious, it asked—
"Ka-kaah?" (How do I get to the Distortion World?)
"Garrr?" (You're coming to play?)
"Ka-kaah." (I'm bringing you something fun.)
"Garrr." (Then—do this.)
Buzz—
A black line split open above Opelucid.
"Kubfu, Tinkaton, Ceruledge, Larvitar, Rotom—assist!"
The little ones lent their strength.
BOOM!!
The Plasma ship erupted in flames—
Only for the fire to freeze, and through the icy inferno emerged a terrifying shape—
Kyurem had awakened!
The chilling aura shook everyone.
"Mewtwo!!"
Johan yelled, prepared for this moment.
They couldn't let Kyurem crash into the city.
"Leave it to me!"
Mewtwo nodded and shot skyward.
ROAR!!
Red-eyed, Kyurem sensed a threat and roared at Mewtwo.
It wanted to destroy everything!
But Mewtwo blinked behind it, grabbed its tail—
SWOOSH—
And dragged Kyurem away from Opelucid.
Kyurem: ???
Meanwhile, the warship—engulfed in explosions—lost control and plummeted.
BOOM BOOM BOOM—
Barriers shattered.
"Still not enough?" Shaga muttered grimly.
Johan: "Gengar!!"
"Ka-kaah!!"
Hovering midair, Mega Gengar flashed an "OK" sign.
Ghost energy burst forth.
From every direction, ghostly forces surged toward Gengar.
Wanlong blinked. "That... that's like Granny Agatha's Gengar..."
"Help Gengar!" she ordered her team.
Suspended midair, Mega Gengar placed one hand above and one below the rift.
"Ka-kaah!!"
It yanked.
The line split open wider—forming a giant pocket!
The falling warship hit the rift's edge—like a dumpling stuck halfway into a bag.
Stuck?
"Dragonite!!"
"Draaa!!"
Dragonite looped and slammed into the back of the warship.
BOOM!!
Inch by inch, the ship went deeper.
Everyone joined in—
"Garchomp!!"
"Gothitelle! Type: Null!"
"Altaria!"
"Golurk! Drifblim!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The rift devoured the ship bit by bit.
But the ship was too huge—and still exploding.
"We'll help! Unfezant, Fly!"
"I'm in! Swanna, Tailwind!"
"Pidgeot, Brave Bird!!"
Flying-types from trainers and citizens alike rose into the sky.
One by one, their pushes meant little—
Together—they meant everything.
Just as the final explosions rocked the airship—
WHRR—
It vanished into the rift.
Gengar's Mega form faded. It knelt midair, panting, tongue out.
The rift closed behind it.
Shaga, Cynthia, Caitlin, Wanlong, Lenwu—everyone stood frozen.
The shaken night sky still shimmered with embers.
But now—
ROAR!!!
The city erupted with cheers.
The ship was gone.
The sky, once darkened, now gleamed with moonlight.
Beneath it—
Gengar rose, slipped on sunglasses, placed its hands on its hips—
And flashed a massive grin.
"Ka-kaah!!"
Opelucid City trembled.
"Long live Teacher Johan!!"
"Long live Gengar!!!"
"How can a Gengar be this strong—and this cute?!"
"We're saved!! We're saved!! Waaaah—"
Garchomp, Dragonite, Altaria and others floated beside Gengar.
"Ka-kaah?" (Wasn't I cool just now?)
"Draaa!!" (Super cool!!)
Dragonite was all in.
Even Garchomp gave Gengar a sidelong look—acknowledging it with pride.
Meanwhile, in the Distortion World—
Giratina stared at the Plasma airship now sitting before it, blazing and broken.
It scratched its head.
...Was this the "gift"?
