Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]-Chapter 275 - Can we date?
Chapter 275: Chapter 275 - Can we date?
The argument in the room had reached a tense peak, voices overlapping in hushed but urgent tones. Muchen was gesturing wildly, trying to keep his voice low while still making his frustration clear. Yunfeng had leaned forward on the bed, brows furrowed, voice even but firm. And Shao—Shao was trembling, pressed into the corner like a fraying wire, every breath labored and uneven.
Then the bathroom door opened.
The sound was quiet, just a soft click and creak—but it cut through everything like a blade.
The room went silent.
All heads turned, breath held as if time had paused for a split second.
Jai stepped out.
His head was lowered, damp hair sticking slightly to his forehead, face unreadable. He didn’t look at anyone. His hands were curled loosely at his sides, but his knuckles were white.
Shao, as if struck by lightning, turned away instantly. His body jerked with panic, like a child caught in the middle of a crime. He faced the wall, planted his palms against it, and rested his forehead on the surface like he could disappear into it. He looked guilty. Embarrassed. Cowardly.
Jai froze as he saw it—and then something snapped.
"Fucker!!"
He launched forward without another word, slamming into Shao’s back with the full weight of his frustration. His fists flew, pounding into the older man’s back again and again.
"You want him, huh?! You want him then?! Fine! Fuck you! Fuck you, Shao!!"
Shao didn’t fight back. He didn’t move. He just took it—every word, every hit—as if he deserved all of it and more.
Muchen shot up from the bed, eyes wide. "Whoa—Jai! Jai, stop that!" he rushed over, trying to grab the younger man’s arms.
But Jai was slippery, furious, and fueled by something deeper than rage. His body twisted like water in Muchen’s grip, shaking off every attempt to be held down.
"No—don’t touch me!" Jai screamed, voice cracking. "Let me go! Let me fucking go!"
Yunfeng, unable to see what was happening, could only hear the chaos. The sharp shouts. The sounds of fists hitting fabric and muscle. The pain in Jai’s voice. He stood, confused and worried. "Jai! You must have misheard something—just calm down! Listen to us, please!"
But Jai couldn’t hear any of it.
His fists thudded into Shao’s shoulders now, his chest, whatever part of him he could reach. He was crying—he didn’t even realize it. The tears were hot and silent, falling in angry streams down his face.
"How could you do this to me?!"
Another hit.
"You... You old man!!"
His voice broke into a sob, yet he didn’t stop.
"How could you play with my heart like this?!"
Another hit. His voice was hoarse now.
"How can you be so heartless?!"
He slammed his fists one last time against Shao’s back before finally collapsing against it, his forehead resting between his shoulder blades, his body shaking.
There was silence again.
Shao hadn’t moved.
His head was still pressed against the wall.
But his shoulders... were trembling.
Shao’s hand slowly scraped down the wall, his fingers curling so tightly that the paint cracked and peeled beneath his nails.
"Y-yes," he muttered, his voice dry and hoarse. "I’m heartless..."
He sounded like he was choking on the words. His body stiffened against Jai’s back. "But with the way I’m going... I might really hurt you, Jai."
He closed his eyes, his head still leaning against the wall as if it could hide him. "I was trying my best. You don’t know how hard I’ve been trying. Yesterday night... I lost it. I wasn’t... I wasn’t trying to do anything to you, I swear. But..."
Before he could finish, Jai hit him again—just once. freewebnσvel.cѳm
There was no strength in it.
His palm pressed flat against Shao’s back, and then he just stayed there, sobbing, arms sliding around Shao’s waist.
He hugged him tightly, his body trembling. His forehead dropped against Shao’s shoulder blade.
"Why..." Jai’s voice broke as he spoke, muffled and wet with tears. "Why do you want that stupid Qiu Yue..."
Shao blinked, confused.
"I get it," Jai went on, his voice cracking like it was being pulled apart. "He’s more handsome than me. He’s taller... stronger... you probably think he’s better in every way."
Jai sniffed hard, shaking against Shao’s back. "But why do you even want him to mate with you?"
There was a pause.
Shao’s brows furrowed. He turned slightly, careful not to move too fast, his eyes trying to read Jai’s face. He shifted just enough so Jai could hug him properly from the side but kept his legs angled away, keeping a respectful distance.
His confusion was real.
"What... What do you mean, why do I want to mate with him?"
Jai sobbed again, softer this time, and looked up at him. His eyes were red and filled with frustration and pain.
"I heard you..." he whispered. "I heard it all. You said you wanted Qiu Yue... You want to mate with him..."
Shao stared at him, speechless for a second.
Then, gently, he reached out and cupped Jai’s face.
His calloused palm held his cheek carefully, his thumb brushing at the wetness just under Jai’s eye.
"I never said that," he said softly.
Jai pulled back slightly, blinking through his tears. "But I heard you, you bastard!"
He hit Shao’s chest weakly, the blow more emotional than physical.
"You said it! You said you needed him..."
Shao took the hit and didn’t flinch. His hand stayed where it was, holding Jai’s cheek. His eyes never left his face.
"I said I need Qiu Yue because only he can help me," he said clearly, still confused but now more focused. "He’s the only one who knows how to administer anesthesia. That’s all. That’s what I meant. I don’t want him for... that."
Jai’s mouth opened slightly. His fists slowly curled into Shao’s shirt as he stared at him.
"But... but you said... only he could do it for you..."
Shao sighed quietly, his forehead resting gently against Jai’s for a brief second. "I only want you... I want you Jai.. c-can we date?"
