Pregnant for the straight CEO-Chapter 86
~Park min~
Anning leaned over. "Sedation should last another hour at least."
"Yeah, well, tell that to him."
Yu Jin’s eyes fluttered open. Glassy. Confused. He stared up at me, lips parting, no sound coming out yet. Then the pheromones hit.
Holy shit.
It was like someone cracked open a bottle of pure instinct and poured it into the van. Thick, heavy, overwhelming. Enigma scent full force, dark and electric and demanding. My bond snapped tight in my chest, heat rushing south so fast I had to grip the side of the gurney to stay steady.
Yu Jin whimpered, low and rough, trying to sit up. Tubes tugged at his arms and he panicked, eyes wide, breathing fast.
"Hey, hey, easy," I said, hands on his shoulders, pushing gentle. "You’re okay. We’re getting you out. You’re safe."
He blinked at me, recognition flickering. "Min...?"
"Yeah. It’s me. Just breathe, okay? We’ve got you."
His hand grabbed my wrist hard enough to bruise. "Rin.. where’s..."
"He’s safe. With a Woo min. We’ll get her soon."
The pheromones kept rolling off him, stronger every second. Fan Xiao groaned up front. "Fuck, turn on the AC or something. I can’t.... shit."
Ji didn’t say anything, just cracked a window, jaw tight.
Lee Know laughed, breathless. "Welcome to the party, Yu Jin. You smell like you could start a riot."
Yu Jin didn’t answer. Just stared at me, eyes wet, shaking. "Hurts," he whispered. "Everything hurts."
"I know." I climbed closer, pulled him against me, careful of the IV. He buried his face in my neck instantly, inhaling deep, body going lax. The pheromones dialed back a little. Not much, but enough we could all breathe again.
Anning handed me a fresh suppressant patch. "Stick this on his neck. Might help."
I did. He whimpered again but didn’t fight it.
We rode like that another ten minutes, me holding him while he drifted in and out, clinging like I was the only real thing left. Nobody talked much. Even Lee Know stayed quiet for once.
Then headlights flashed behind us. Bright. Close.
Ji muttered, "We’ve got company."
I twisted to look. Two black SUVs, gaining fast.
"Shit," Fan Xiao said. "NDA?"
"Or worse."
Anning pulled up her laptop again. "I can.... "
Headlights in front of us too now. Another vehicle blocking the road.
Kang slammed the brakes. We skidded, tires screaming. Yu Jin cried out as he slid into me.
Doors opened on the blocking car and two figures stepped out.
A woman... mid-forties, sharp features, coat flapping in the wind.... and Woo min?
The woman raised both hands, walking toward us slowly.
Ji tensed. "Stay inside."
But she called out, voice carrying over the engine. "Park Min! Stop! Don’t run!"
I knew that voice. I’d heard it on the news earlier.
Yu Jin’s mother.
Everyone froze.
She got closer, hands still up. "I’m not here to hurt him. I’m here to help."
Fan Xiao had his hand on the door like he was ready to jump out swinging. "This a trap?"
"I don’t know," I muttered.
Yu Jin lifted his head, squinting through the windshield. "Mom...?"
She nodded, eyes locked on the van. "Baby, I’m here. I saw the news. I’m so sorry I wasn’t there sooner."
Anning whispered, "We could still go around them."
But then more headlights...behind us this time. The SUVs caught up.
Doors opened and out stepped my mother. Park Hana. Same perfect suit. Same ice-cold face.
And a handful of NDA agents, weapons not drawn but hands ready.
Great. Family reunion, part two.
Mom walked straight past Yu Jin’s mother without a glance at first, eyes on me through the van window. "Min. Get out. Now."
Yu Jin’s mom stepped forward, voice sharp. "No. You don’t give orders here, Hana."
That’s when my mom finally looked at her.
And stopped dead.
The air went thick. Not just from Yu Jin’s pheromones.
Mom’s face changed. Just for a second. Shock. Real shock.
"You!?" she said, voice barely there.
Yu Jin’s mom smiled, bitter as hell. "Hello, Hana. Been a while."
Everyone in the van went still.
I climbed out slowly, Yu Jin half-conscious against me as I helped him sit up. "You two... know each other?"
Mom didn’t answer me. Just stared at Jins mom like she’d seen a ghost.
She laughed, short and angry. "Know each other? We were best friends. Back before you decided your career came first and sold out everyone who trusted you."
"That’s not... " Mom started, then stopped. Jaw tight.
Fan Xiao leaned out the van door. "Wait, wait. Plot twist? You two were ride-or-die and now you hate each other? I need details."
Lee Know wheezed from inside. "This is better than my dramas. Somebody record this."
One of the NDA agents cleared his throat. "Ma’am, we have orders.... "
Mom held up a hand. He shut up.
Yu jin’s ignored them completely, eyes on Mom. "You think you can just show up now and take my son? After everything?"
"He’s not safe out here," Mom said, voice low. "You know that."
"And he’s safe with you? With the people who want to lock him up and study him like a lab rat?"
Mom flinched. Actually flinched.
I stepped closer, Yu Jin leaning heavy on my shoulder now, awake enough to watch this mess unfold. "Somebody explain. Now."
Yu jin’s mom turned to me, eyes softening when they landed on Yu Jin. "Sweetheart, I’m getting you out of this. For real."
Mom cut in. "You can’t hide an Enigma. Not anymore."
"I’ve been hiding one for twenty-five years plus ," his mom snapped.
Silence.
Everyone stared.
Then his mom–Mrs Yu said, quiet but clear, "Your father’s alive, Yu Jin. He never died in that car accident. We faked it. To keep him safe. To keep you safe before you were even born."
Yu Jin made a choked sound next to me.
I felt the ground tilt.
She kept going, voice shaking now. "He saw the news too. He’s coming. He’ll be here any minute."
Headlights appeared again in the distance. One set this time. Coming fast.
Mom looked like she might actually throw up.
Yu Jin whispered, "Dad...?"
And the car pulled up.
Door opened.
A man stepped out.
Tall. Dark hair graying at the temples. Face that looked like an older version of Yu Jin’s.
He looked straight at his son.
And said, "Hey, kid. Sorry I’m late."
