Chapter 20: The Event of Hunting Lord Inferno (3) Part II

“Do you trust me?” The gentle voice asked and Warunya paused. She looked right at the pair of amber eyes to see the determination and honesty reflected in there clearly. She then replied firmly.

“You’ve helped me so much. Why wouldn’t I trust you?”

“Good!”

“KYAA!”

Wisana lifted her up in his arms right away.

“V.. Vincent, what are you doing?” She stuttered, blushing.

“Getting us out of here!”

WHOOSH!

A second later, Lord Inferno slapped its hand again, aiming to get Wisana killed right there. But he dodged it again easily. It seemed like he was already used to the pattern of the monster’s attack. Actually, if the other players had time to learn this trick, shifting away from the attacks was not impossible anymore!

GARRRZ!!

The demon boss growled out again with anger. It seemed like it just realized that Wisana was not one of the usual foes that it could take down so easily. Because so far, this guy was the only one who could evade its attacks for this long!

And for this reason, the 18-meter monster had gone mad, continuously throwing his massive hands at Wisana.

“KYAA!! Wisana, you’re crazy! Why did you mock him like that?!” The screech came from another one who scared him from above. Maysa was running around, finding a way to get down from the wall ridge and help that troubled ass.

BOOM!

Lord Inferno’s attack missed Wisana for another time and landed right onto the watchtower in the dungeon, crushing its concrete walls to fall apart in pieces and fall on the speedy guy again.

“Geez. Seems like you really like this trick huh. You fat lizard.” Wisana let out a long-term of curse.

“Vincent, we’re not gonna make it.” Warunya interrupted.

“Yes, we are. Hold on tight!”

As he finished, the tall one leaped on the falling pieces of concrete, using them as a base to jump on another. His flow and excellent reflexes made Warunya gasp, speechless.

“Warunya, hold onto me!”

“Aah!”

Seconds later, Wisana pressed her head against his chest, trying to make both of them as small as possible.

Before the whole cell of the watchtower could crush them flat, they slipped through the small window and got above it as it was falling. After they survived from the biggest piece, he then kicked on it to long jump as high as he could.

GARRZZZ!!

But that seemed to be a mistake since he could not move freely when he was in the air like this. Besides, there was no falling concrete for him to use as a base to jump anymore. And that was the chance for Lord Inferno to show off his OP by jumping straight up to Wisana.

“Holy sh*t. You can jump, too?” Wisana whined, tiredly.

“KYAAA!!” The girl in his arms continued to screech.

Faster than his thought, the red monster whipped its hand at Wisana. There was no way to evade this anymore since he was floating in the air like that.

Just a blink away before he got hit.

A blink before the disaster got to him.

Wisana’s brain ran fast again. He could swear that he heard a loud crack notice, then his passive instincts started kicking in. The young man tightened his arms around Warunya, turning his back to prepare for the attack from Lord Inferno.

WHOOSH!

The attack incredibly passed through Wisana’s back as it endured the damage from the monster for a few seconds. That missed attack turned into the inertia force that pushed them away!

“You missed!” Wisana yelled, feeling satisfied. “Got anything else?!”

“That... that was awesome.” Warunya gasped with shock.

When the physical attack did not work, Lord Inferno decided to try attacking with magic instead. The gigantic monster opened its mouth, showing the hint of flame that was about to blow out of its throat in a few seconds!

“Damn, bro. Aren't you just too tough?” Wisana said, sounding stiff as he got pissed.

Boss Inferno was ready to release its ultimate skill.

Hell Blaze!

“Player Wisana earned Rerise skill by passing the conditions of evading the attack from enemies 150 times in a roll.

Wisana paused at Jinnie’s announcement.

He got a new skill earlier and now he just got another one.

“What can they do in this situation?!” He cursed aloud.

“Vincent, what’s wrong?” The girl in his arms asked, raising her eyebrows in confusion since she could not hear Jinnie. But he did not respond to her, only quietly staring at the damn boss.

So, he could only wait to be killed?!

“Master!” Jinnie's robotic voice shouted with panic.

“What?!” He shouted back.

“I suggest you use the Rerise skill immediately.”

The listener raised his eyebrows. “Use it to do what?”

“There is no time to explain. Please activate the skill immediately.”

“Damn.” He cursed in a bad temper. “Okay. Whatever, Rerise! ...something! come out now!”

BOOM!!!

POOF!

The sound of a loud explosion came with the hot bright massive fireball that was shot from Lord Inferno’s mouth straight to where they were floating.

Except, they were not there anymore. For some reason, he was flying up, and away from the attack with a bright blazing flame on his back--a flame that was blazing in the shape of a pair of wings!

Butterfly Effect!

“How was it possible? I'm not dead, and...” Wisana glanced back at the flame-blazing wings, dumbfounded. “These wings... were exactly like the merchant said!”

“Vincent, you can fly?!” Warunya yelled.

“Er, I just knew this, too.”

“Master, may I explain the skill to you briefly.” Jinnie interrupted with an anxious voice. Wisana turned to see Lord Inferno landing on its feet again and giving him a dead gaze. He got pale by that.

“These wings are the effect of the item Butterfly Effect Scarf. This scarf can absorb damage from fire element skills and turn the damage into its own energy. For this reason, the first attack you took has charged the energy for the scarf. And the Rerise skill you got, was the ignition of the flame wings in the scarf. In conclusion, you can fly.”

“What?!” The hoarse voice yelled in surprise before a hologram screen popped out to show the information that confirmed Jinnie's words to his own eyes.

He read that short paragraph on it quickly.

----------------

Butterfly Effect <Wings of the fire demon>

----------------

Absorbent Energy

85289 / 85120

----------------

Maximum speed: 80 km. / h

Energy drains: 10 / s

----------------

The faster you go, the more energy drains.

----------------

He gasped as he finished reading. It took him a while before a satisfied smile came across his face. He thought that he would thank the merchant later for this since it could actually work! Even though the condition to use the wings had to be this risky!

“Master, watch out!”

Jinnie had not even finished speaking yet when Wisana was almost killed by Lord Inferno. It got the chance to slap him again while he was reading the screen. The young man flew away at full speed for his life, and he started to notice that the energy was rapidly decreasing.

“What the hell!? Is this some sort of an old diesel engine or what? It takes that much energy for just one speed up?!” Wisana yelled. “If it is like this, guess I'll get hit again, soon, oh, wait...”

GRRAZ!!

The red fire demon growled out aloud as his enemy seemed to be more difficult to handle. The massive body paused still, slowly bending down to the floor like it was pushing something out.

“What is he doing?” The curious one could not help but ask.

“I don’t know either.” Warunya brushed him off, not caring much about the monster. A smile appeared on her soft, pretty face, admiring the man’s talents. He was not just incredibly skilled, but also gentle and kind. She was sure that she would be safe as long as she was in his arms!

GRROWL!!

She was lost in her thoughts when Lord Inferno did something that got Wisana’s eyes bulging in shock. On the massive back of the monster, there were a pair of wings spreading wide. They were covered with thin skin like dragon’s wings.

“This damn boss, I swear. Seriously, what can you not do?!” He had not finished speaking when the said damn boss leaped up at him so fast. The amber eyes widened, turning away by draining a huge amount of energy to fly at full speed again!

BOOM!!!

Wisana’s speed and Lord Inferno’s were competitive. Even though he was smaller, the constant explosions forced him to dart forward at a great speed. And even though the monster could fly slower, its enormous size was still so terrifying that it got Wisana sweating.

“Vincent! Go left!!”

“Whoa!” Wisana shouted out aloud, shifting away from the Inferno’s attack in the nick of time. Luckily, he had his angel to look out the rear for him, so he knew where the damn boss would hit.

Then he glanced at another watchtower that was located in front of him. The handsome face brought up a smirk before he flew there at a slower speed, in order to bait the boss to catch up.

“Hold on tight, Orn!”

When they were in the right position, he speeded up, flew straight toward the watchtower with the monster chasing after them. The second before they crashed into the wall, Wisana shifted to the side, easily with his agility. However, the gigantic boss did not have the same attribute, obviously with the size differences.

So, it just crashed into the watchtower harshly.

SLAAM!!

5,898!

The damage points popped out as the monster boss was falling back to the ground. A happy smile appeared on his face since it went according to his plan.

“Okay, so this was counted as an attack, too. I think I started to get this game now.” Wisana said, smiling. He understood now that he did not have to attack the boss directly to do the damage. But, baiting it to crash into a building, or kicking it off a cliff like he did to the green mushroom, counted as an attack, too.

This game made more sense than he expected!

“Vincent! It's coming back!” Warunya alarmed him when she saw the monster getting ready to fly to get them. Wisana clicked his tongue before he blasted the flame to get away from it for another time.

Er, right. How could he forget that this big bro had 15 million HP?

“This way!” While he was flying, Wisana heard a familiar voice calling him. The amber eyes looked down to see Maysa standing there, waving at him.

“May, do something!”
