Chapter 183: Chapter 183: Wanting to Force Her Out

Ethan Lancaster was in a meeting when he got the call. "Hello, Sis."

Zion Lancaster stifled a sound of pain, not wanting to worry her family. "Ethan, I saw Raina."

"What?"

"I saw Raina Reddington. She’s on the same high-speed train as me."

In front of everyone, Ethan Lancaster shot up from his seat, his chair clattering to the floor. The assistant next to him jumped in fright.

Looking like he’d lost his soul, Ethan Lancaster walked out. "Where? Where is she?"

"We’re about to arrive in Crestfall."

He rushed outside. "Sis, I want to say a few words to her."

Zion Lancaster’s forehead was covered in sweat, but Ethan Lancaster’s mind was so full of Raina Reddington that he didn’t notice the strange tone in her voice.

"Do you think she’ll agree? I just called out to her, and she wouldn’t even admit who she was."

"Sis, you have to keep her there for me! I... I’ll send someone over right now!" It was too late to drive from Stoneworth. ’Since Raina has run into Zion, she’s definitely going to get off at the nearest stop.’

Gwen Sharp stood by, frozen to the spot, her eyes fixed on the direction Raina had gone. Zion Lancaster wanted to get up, but she didn’t even have the strength to stand.

"I’ll go." Gwen Sharp gently squeezed her arm. "I’ll go see which car she’s in."

"You..."

"If she really is Mrs. Lancaster, I’ll be happy for her and the Fourth Master. Besides, when I started following the Fourth Master, I knew he wasn’t single, so you don’t have to worry about me having other ideas." Gwen Sharp got up, squeezed her way out, and hurried toward the car in front of them.

She checked each seat one by one. When she passed by Raina Reddington, she stopped abruptly.

Raina Reddington and Miles Hawthorne were sitting together, not hiding their closeness in the slightest. Gwen Sharp felt a chill crawl up from the soles of her feet. These were supposed to be two dead people, yet here they were, perfectly fine, right in front of her.

Gwen Sharp’s lips trembled as she tried to speak. "Doctor Reddington."

Raina Reddington shot her a cold glance. Gwen Sharp felt the look was both frigid and piercing. Even though Raina was sitting, her presence completely overwhelmed her.

"You have the wrong person."

"I can’t believe you’re still alive..."

Raina Reddington lifted her wrist to check the time on her watch and said to Miles Hawthorne, "We’re almost at the station."

"Dr. Reddington, the Fourth Master has been looking for you..."

Raina Reddington closed her eyes, unwilling to engage. ’Looking for me for what? To make sure I’m really dead this time? If he knew I was still alive, would he want to stick a knife in me a couple more times?’

"Pack your things. I’m going to the restroom," Miles Hawthorne whispered, leaning close to her ear.

"Okay."

The man stood up. As he passed Gwen Sharp, he grabbed her by the collar and dragged her out. She was no match for Miles Hawthorne. She stumbled a few steps, unable to keep up, before he slammed her against the wall in the aisle.

Gwen Sharp was still in shock. Miles Hawthorne pinned one arm against the wall by her head, his body leaning in so close their foreheads almost touched. She held her breath, not daring to exhale. "What do you want?"

"You’re the one who told her about Ethan Lancaster stealing Raina’s bone marrow, aren’t you?"

Gwen Sharp’s legs went soft, and she could barely stand.

"Wouldn’t it be better to just keep your mouth shut?"

Gwen Sharp had thought that with Raina dead, this matter would be buried forever. Her fingers trembled as they clenched into fists.

"If Ethan Lancaster finds out that you were the one who leaked that information, that you were the one who drove Raina Reddington to her death, what do you think he’ll do to you?"

Her legs gave out, and she slid to the floor. Miles Hawthorne stared down at her imperiously.

He turned and went back into the train car. The train soon pulled into the station, and Raina Reddington got off first.

Zion Lancaster and Gwen Sharp also got off in Crestfall, but the people Ethan Lancaster had sent didn’t make it in time. By then, Raina Reddington had already vanished without a trace.

Outside a hospital room.

Ethan Lancaster swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue. It took him a great deal of effort to finally speak. "Was it really Raina?"

With so many eyes on her, Gwen Sharp didn’t dare to lie. "She... she did look exactly like Dr. Reddington."

"Was it her or not?"

"But she wouldn’t admit it."

Seth Sinclair glanced at Ethan Lancaster’s expression; he looked like a dying man who had suddenly been given a new lease on life. "It’s normal that she wouldn’t admit it," Ethan said. "She definitely doesn’t want to see me." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Gwen Sharp stood there nervously. Ethan Lancaster immediately asked another question. "Who was she with?"

Gwen Sharp’s heart clenched. She instantly remembered Miles Hawthorne’s warning. If she told Ethan Lancaster now that the woman was sitting with Miles Hawthorne, it would be the same as telling him that she was, in fact, Raina Reddington.

Gwen Sharp shook her head slightly. "No... nobody. She was alone."

"Where did she get off the train?"

"I was keeping an eye on her and wanted to stop her, but your sister needed help getting off the train..."

Ethan Lancaster cut her off impatiently. "Cut the crap. I asked you where she got off."

"Crest... Crestfall."

When Ethan Lancaster wanted something investigated today, he would never put it off until tomorrow. And with his extensive connections, it wasn’t long before he had someone pull up the surveillance footage from the high-speed train’s stop in Crestfall at that time.

Raina Reddington was wearing a hat when she got off, but Ethan Lancaster would never mistake her. Her figure was almost unchanged from his memory. She wasn’t deliberately hiding, but she simply vanished into the crowd.

Ethan Lancaster stared intently at the surveillance monitor. "It’s her."

Seth Sinclair stood beside him, not knowing what to say. After all, they couldn’t see her face clearly, but her silhouette did look a bit like the Raina Reddington he knew.

"Where did she go?"

"It’s hard to track her after she left the station."

"I don’t care. Even if you have to turn this place upside down, find her."

Miles Hawthorne hadn’t gotten off the train with Raina Reddington, and it would never occur to Ethan Lancaster that he was also on board, so he wouldn’t have people check the surveillance at every single stop.

Crestfall wasn’t like Stoneworth. It would take some time to follow the trail and find her. Besides, Raina Reddington had already made her way back to Stoneworth that same day.

A few days later, news about Raina Reddington once again reached Ethan Lancaster’s ears.

The investigation eventually revealed that Raina Reddington had returned to Stoneworth.

When Ethan Lancaster hung up the phone, his feelings were completely indescribable. He was stunned for a long moment, just clutching his phone without a word.

"Fourth Master, I’ll have my men keep searching."

"If she’s determined to hide, how can she be so easy to find?"

"If we take our time, we’ll find her eventually."

An inscrutable smile played on Ethan Lancaster’s lips. "I can’t wait. Instead of going through all this trouble to find her, it’s better to make her come out on her own."

"What do you mean, sir?" Seth Sinclair wasn’t so optimistic. ’If Raina Reddington wanted to see him, would they need to go to such great lengths?’

"Leak the news. Then, send someone back to Hemlock Village and have them raze the old Hawthorne Family estate to the ground. And also, aren’t Miles Hawthorne’s ashes still buried there..."

Seth Sinclair’s heart pounded with fear as he listened. "Fourth Master, you have to reconsider."

’Wouldn’t this just make Raina Reddington hate him even more?’

But Ethan Lancaster didn’t care. ’She doesn’t love me anyway, so what does a little more hate matter? As long as it forces her out, that’s all that counts.’
