Chapter 301 Solution To Deal With The Zeus Kingdom
After the marquis' ridicule of the viscount, the nobles and royalties started discussing with each about the solution to the kingdom's crisis. A discussion led to an argument and the king was forced to interfere.
"Sigh, do any of you doesn't have a better solution?"
Hearing the question that came from the king himself, all of the nobles and royalties stopped their discussion amongst themselves as silence permeated the room.
Due to the status of the king which was the highest in the kingdom, all of the nobles and royalties had to give their priority to answering the king's question. Not to mention, earning the king's favor would allow them to have a boost in status which would improve the chances of the princes or princesses from inheriting the throne. 𝐟𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘄𝗲𝐛𝐧𝐨𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Aside from Reid and Alisceon, all of the princes and princesses wanted to inherit the throne. But so far, only the first and second princes had the highest chance of inheriting the throne but that was before Alisceon earned the support of the Supreme Mage.
So currently, the nobles were having a dilemma on whom should they support. Although, those nobilities who had mage or knight lineage already knew who they should support.
Those nobles of the knight lineage had already decided to support the second prince while those of the mage lineage were thinking of supporting Alisceon instead of the first prince.
After all, from what they have noticed, the Mage's Association would likely shift their support to the Supreme Mage instead of a mere 7th Circle Mage like the royal court mage. Those nobles of the mage lineage knew the importance of obtaining the knowledge or lecture of an 8th Circle Mage so they all wanted to curry favors with the first princess so that they could have a conversation with the Supreme Mage.
Allen was well aware of their thoughts but he was pleased to find out that all of the nobles of the mage lineage were leaning their thoughts of supporting Alisceon instead of that perverted first prince. After finding out the true personality of the first prince, Allen had already labeled him as a dead man as he already decided to assassinate the first prince personally.
Having the first prince alive was the same as keeping a parasite alive in one's body. It was better to eliminate such parasites as early as possible.
But Allen wasn't in a hurry as he had already formulated his plan on taking all of the useful things that the first prince had for himself.
While Allen was thinking of that, there was already someone who had decided to answer the king's question.
"Why need to find a complicated answer? Our kingdom's military is powerful enough to deter the forces of the Zeus Kingdom. Even if the other neighboring kingdoms decided to ally with the Zeus Kingdom, we can still deter them as long as we deal with them one by one."
The one who gave such a bold suggestion was none other than the first prince.
The first prince's tone was quite disrespectful towards the king as he spoke as if the king had gone senile and could no longer solve the kingdom's problems.
As for the king, he didn't care about the disrespectful tone that the first prince had used. After all, even the nobles had already gotten used to the first prince's arrogant demeanor.
If it was those nobles who used a disrespectful tone toward him, the king would have already punished them for such an offense. But since the one who did that was his son, he decided to be lenient towards him.
After all, the first prince was also one of his offspring that was likely to inherit the throne. It would be a waste of resources if he sowed discord with his son and ended up letting his son hate him.
The king was well aware that due to his focusing on managing the kingdom as well as finding a suitable successor among his children, his children had become distant towards himself.
Most of his children viewed him as the "king" instead of "father". And to be honest, the king was already eager to let his children inherit his throne as he was tired of managing the kingdom.
If not for the fact that he still had yet to deem any of his children as worthy to become his successor, he would have already retired.
Because of that, he valued what the first prince would suggest to him without minding the first prince's disrespectful tone. If the suggestion of the first prince was useful, then the king would indirectly support the first prince.
If the suggestion provided by the first prince wasn't useful, then that wouldn't matter much to the king since he still had lots of children. It was not like the first prince was his only possible successor.
Seeing that the king was interested in hearing his suggestion, the first prince continued his words.
"Our kingdom has the strongest knight of the human race on our side. Not to mention, our country's knights are one of the strongest even amongst all kingdoms. If we take into account the geographical advantage we have if the Zeus Kingdom and other kingdoms invaded us, we would be able to reduce our losses but still successfully defend against the Zeus Kingdom and their allies."
Seeing that the nobles as well as his father were only slightly convinced by his words, the first prince decided to no longer keep them in suspense and told them the main solution that he had come up with.
"Haven't we already gotten the Supreme Mage on our side? With the Supreme Mage's title and reputation, we can earn the support of those at the Mage's Association. Even if we can't mobilize the mages to let them join the war against the Zeus Kingdom, we can still use the reputation of the Mage's Association as well as the Supreme Mage to deter the Zeus Kingdom and the Zeus Kingdom's allies."
"If that doesn't work, we still have a last resort."
Hearing that the first prince still came up with a last resort despite the solution he had already given, the nobles and the king were interested in that.
"Oh? And what would that be?"
Although they could already guess due to the hints given by the first prince, a few of the nobles still asked for appearance's sake.
