Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 648 Post-New Year (4)_1
"Billy Horne, when I grow up, I’m going to find a husband who can fight and knock you down!" The little Camila Ruiz, probably having seen too much of her parents’ affection, said something that made the old lady burst into laughter upon hearing it.
"I’m not afraid at all! I’ll beat him to death!" A domineering expression covered Billy’s handsome face.
"Just you wait!" Camila stopped crying and childishly threw down the gauntlet to Billy.
"If I don’t wait, then I’m not a man!"
"Billy, are you bullying your sister again?" Adele Horne walked out of the house and stumbled upon the two little rascals’ argument, unable to resist a chuckle.
At twenty-six, Adele appeared more mature. Although life as a single mother was tough, with the family’s protection, she and her son still managed to live a happy life.
The only thing that gave her a headache was Billy always bullying Camila. Camila was now considered the Ruiz Family’s precious jewel, a little princess of no small value. If Mrs. Ruiz found out that her precious daughter was constantly bullied by Billy, given the old lady’s temperament, she would definitely create a scene at the Horne Family’s place.
The adults couldn’t understand why Billy disliked Camila so much when she clearly was very charming.
"Mommy, I only have one sister, and that’s the little sister from my second uncle’s house. Stinky Camila isn’t my sister at all." Billy’s face stiffened, and his expression suddenly turned a bit sinister.
Apart from not liking Camila, he particularly hated when the adults emphasized that Camila was his sister.
"You, always bullying Camila like this, Uncle Ruiz won’t bring her to play with you anymore." Adele walked over, pulled little Billy out of the old lady’s embrace, and with a mix of love, pity, and helplessness, tapped his forehead.
Jimmy Horne blinked but said nothing more.
If Camila stopped coming to the Horne Family’s place, who would he bully then? His cousin was born just two hours before him, but it felt as if he was two years older. Whenever he faced those deep, black eyes of his cousin, he would stop whatever he was doing, not daring to bully his cousin. His second uncle’s sons and daughters were fair-skinned and delicate, very lovely; he wouldn’t bully them either. Only Camila was there for him to bully.
Jimmy, now in the middle class of kindergarten, was starting to form his own thoughts.
The two pairs of loving couples on the rooftop, envied by many, watched everything below and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
"Rachel, Billy loves to bully Camila so much, do you think when they grow up, they’ll end up as a pair of bickering sweethearts?" Julia, nestled in Glades Horne’s solid and warm embrace, laughed and spoke to Rachel Bailey.
Julia, at thirty, had an even stronger feminine charm. Having been through three years of hard experience, she had made a name for herself in the business world. All the businesses that were transferred to her name from the Valence Group had flourished under her guidance over these three years, forcing everyone to change their view of her. She truly had the capability and didn’t need the backing of the Valence Group to make her business thrive.
At that moment, she was still strikingly beautiful, but with every move, she exuded a captivating charm, enough to mesmerize any man. However, those men dared only admire her from afar and not flirt with her. After all, she was the Crown Princess of the Horne Family; whoever dared to get too close would assuredly meet a grisly end.
Having been married for over four years, the couple’s affection for each other remained as strong as at the beginning.
Glades’s doting love for her continued to be a hot topic among people.
"I certainly hope not."
Rachel Bailey laughed. It wasn’t because she didn’t like Jimmy Horne. Rather, she felt that if Jimmy always bullied her daughter, their future relationship—should they have one—would be fraught with arguments. Neither would be willing to give in, leading to constant discord. If possible, she actually hoped that Ivan Horne could become her son-in-law.
"Hehe, why don’t we become in-laws? My Ivan is really fond of Camila, just like how Glades used to adore me before." Julia, who didn’t have a daughter of her own, treated Camila as her own, wishing she could forever shelter her under her wings.
"Darling, have you been reading too many novels or watching too much TV?" Glades Horne couldn’t hold back a low chuckle, neither agreeing nor disagreeing with his beloved wife’s suggestion. He didn’t want to interfere with his children’s feelings; he preferred to let nature take its course and let them grow freely. Besides, the kids were only a little over three years old, and it was too early to talk about such things since they had a long way to go before growing up.
"I just like Camila so much! It’s all your fault. You’re the bad one! I wanted a daughter, and you just had to give me a son," Julia playfully rebuked him.
Glades looked at her indulgently, his arm around her tightening as he pulled her closer. That wasn’t something he could decide, after all; he too had wanted a daughter.
Hansen Ruiz and his wife just smiled at each other.
Everything was too early and unknown. They just hoped their children would grow up healthy.
A red Audi drove into the villa from the outside.
After the car stopped, James Horne and Rebecca Hughes climbed out.
Several children saw the two of them and ran towards them with smiles.
James Horne picked up Ivan Horne and habitually, imperceptibly searched for Julia’s figure. When he raised his eyes, he saw the two loving couples on the top floor. A flicker of pain swept rapidly across his eyes, then he smiled casually and kissed Ivan before carrying him over to the grandmother.
Glades Horne, from his high vantage point, caught his brother’s subtle action. His face tensed slightly, and his gaze slowly turned chilly.

At the same time, a luxury private jet was flying from the United States in the direction of T City in Syrena, carrying Noah Reyes and his assistant Deon Myers, as well as eight personal bodyguards.
At thirty-seven, Noah Reyes was still single. Nearing forty, he had no legal wife and no legitimate son, which caused distress for everyone in his organization. The eunuchs were anxious, but the emperor was not, and there was nothing they could do.
Time had not left any traces on his face; he was still as handsome and youthful as he had been four years earlier.
It took him three years to deal with the mess his father had intentionally left him.
Once the matters were settled, he could no longer stay put. He immediately instructed Deon Myers to prepare his private jet. He had to fly to Syrena at once and return to T City. A little enchantress there had stolen his heart. Theirs had been only a brief, bewitched encounter, yet he had planted his seed inside her. Now, he was desperate to know if it had taken root.
After so many years, he felt guilty towards her, regretful. He told himself that once he found her, he would definitely compensate her well.
If, just like in his dreams, he had a child, he would also compensate for the years of paternal love the child had missed, and do so doubly.
At this moment in Syrena, it was the first day of the New Year, which signified the start of hope for the year. He chose this day to fly to Syrena in the hope that, in this new year, he could reunite with her.
Of course, another important point was that the Black Emperor Group was not doing as well as he would have liked in T City.
His interest in his rivals, Glades Horne and Hansen Ruiz, was growing, and he was eager for a head-on confrontation with them.
With him personally in charge, he didn’t believe he couldn’t defeat the Valence Group.
There could be only one supreme leader!
And that would be him, Noah Reyes!
Outside the cabin, clouds drifted by.
The plane weaved through the clouds.
Deon Myers watched Noah Reyes’s expressions carefully.
"Deon Myers, have you fallen for me?"
Without even looking at Deon Myers, Noah Reyes asked coldly, aware of his assistant’s movements.
Deon Myers blushed in embarrassment and hastily denied it, "Master, Deon Myers does not have those preferences." He was a married man and even a father. He was simply curious why the Master’s expression seemed so urgent.
"Mind your own status and don’t try to fathom my thoughts," Noah Reyes scolded with a sharp look that made Deon Myers tremble, and he immediately responded with fear, "Deon Myers wouldn’t dare."
With a low hum, Noah Reyes stopped speaking and looked out at the clouds from the cabin, his heart once again immersing in the world of searching for his wife and child.
Suddenly, he let out a low, frustrated sound.
"Master, what’s wrong?"
Deon Myers immediately asked with concern.
Noah Reyes’s brows furrowed tightly. He had been too busy over the past three years to practice drawing, so his skills remained at a beginner’s level. Now, as he flew to T City in Syrena, how was he supposed to find her? His drawings of her didn’t even resemble her; how could his people help? T City was so vast, with so many people. He was the only one who had seen her. Looking for her blindly was like finding a needle in a haystack.
