PUBG Online Romance of the Century-Chapter 103 - Not hiding
Chapter 103 - Not hiding
Edited by Noks
During this period, Yu Minyang called Yu Yan several times. The contents of the call were nothing more than some discussions about the legal case, and also about wanting him to return home for the New Year.
“Your cousin has just come home for her vacation. You haven’t seen each other in so long, so it’s perfect that you guys can meet again during the New Year…” Yu Minyang spoke for a long time but didn’t get a response. He asked again, “Xiao Yan? Are you listening?”
Yu Yan returned to his senses.
“…… I’m listening, please go ahead.”
The phone call lasted for more than ten minutes, but in the end, Yu Minyang failed to persuade him to return home.
Yu Yan hung up the phone call and couldn’t help but look at the time again.
Father Yi and Mother Yi had returned home today. Yi Chen had gone to their house early in the morning, and still hadn’t come back yet.
Knowing their family’s situation, Yu Yan felt a bit worried, and found it hard to focus on things. Specifically, he… When playing the game, he almost killed himself with his own frag grenade.
[What’s the matter, Xiao Yan, you exploded half of your own health away?? Quickly wake up! You’re still running a quiz game ah!!]
[After all, Boss 1 is not here. Everyone please understand.]
“Sorry, I’m a little not-myself today.” Yu Yan said, “After this match, I won’t keep running the quiz game.”
At this time, his cellphone suddenly vibrated. Yu Yan felt startled and immediately picked it up to take a look.
1: En, returning home now.
Only after Yi Chen left the Yi residence did he discover that there was an unread message in his phone from three hours ago. Yu Yan had sent it, asking if he was okay and about when he would be coming back.
After replying, he got in the car and was just about to leave the old residence when a knock sounded on the car window.
Outside the window stood a middle-aged woman, dressed in neat and ordinary clothes. She was an old servant, who had worked in the old residence for over 20 years. She could count as someone who had watched Yi Chen grow up and had also witnessed many things that had happened in the family.
When the window was pulled down, it could be seen that the woman’s eyes were red. She handed something over to Yi Chen through the window and said in a choked voice, “Xiao Chen, this is my pickled sauce. It’s your favorite, so take some bottles back.”
Yi Chen took the package into his hands and laughed. “Auntie Man, this is too much.”
“I heard you were coming back today, so I quickly scooped these out.” Auntie Man recalled the scene of Yi Chen’s reconciliation with his family just now and was moved. “&#k2026;It’s okay, there’s still another person in your house, so it’s fine. After you finish eating it, let me know, and I’ll make some more for you. I’ll even send it over.”
Only after Yi Chen had the bottles of sauce placed securely did he leave the old residence.
There was not much traffic on the road, so he sped home. As soon as he entered the garage, he saw Yu Yan standing at the small door leading to the garage.
Yu Yan had heard the sound of the garage door opening just moments after he had ended his stream, and he didn’t even take the time to turn off the computer before racing down with bounding steps.
Yi Chen stopped the car, and as soon as he opened the door, Yu Yan couldn’t help but move forward.
“Have you seen uncle and auntie?”
Yi Chen stepped out of the car. Because there was another car parked at the side, there wasn’t too much space by the garage door. He was only able to shut the car door after drawing Yu Yan closer to him.
“Saw them.” He asked, “Since I wasn’t here, what did you have for lunch?”
How could Yu Yan be in the mood to talk about that? He looked up and asked haltingly, “How was it, you didn’t quarrel ba? Those matters…it’s all been resolved?”
Yi Chen smiled and replied, “En. All resolved.”
Yu Yan could finally steady his trembling heart. He took a long breath and said, “That’s good.”
Just as they were about to go inside the house, Yi Chen, who had taken only a few steps forward, suddenly thought of something. “Wait a minute, there’s still stuff in the car.”
Yu Yan was closer to the car and turned around instinctively. “I’ll get it ba, is it on the passenger’s side?”
“En.” Yi Chen said, “A few bottles of sauce.”
Yu Yan opened the car door and saw that, in addition to the bottles of sauce, there were a pile of packages filled to the brim under the back seat.
He was startled and asked, “What are these?”
Yi Chen raised his eyebrows and only then remembered the thing that had slipped his mind.
“Those are the presents they brought for you from abroad.”
“Brought for me?” Yu Yan froze.
“En.” Yi Chen came to his side and said, “But… You shouldn’t be able to use any of these.”
Yu Yan didn’t understand what he meant by that and also the reason for which Father Yi and Mother Yi had sent him gifts.
He didn’t know what to ask first. Seeing that the logos on those bags were all those of big brands, he nodded and asked, “I really can’t use them, so why did you bring them back? Do you need to send them back?”
“No need, leave it here ba. I’ll ask Yi Ran to take it back next time.”
“We still can’t just leave it all in the car, let’s bring them in first ba. When Yi Ran comes…”
Yu Yan’s words halted midway through this sentence—
Because he saw a faint flash of pink in one of the bags.
He opened the bag and saw what was inside—a pink one-shouldered bag, with its surface covered in fancy LV patterns, a long black box with several lipsticks encased in golden yellow casings, and a white brand-name scarf, which should be for girls based on its style.
Now he understood why Yi Chen said he wouldn’t be able to use these things.
These were all things that young girls liked.
Yu Yan suddenly felt like he was choking on something in his throat and so couldn’t speak for a long while. He looked into a few of the other bags and quietly put everything back.
“I’m sorry, I messed it up,” He said.
“It’s fine. Stuff it wherever, it’s all because she had to put it in my car. I won’t blame you for messing it up.” Yi Chen looked at his pursed mouth, stepped forward, and helped him in packing the scarf back into the bag. “I’m the one who forgot to return them.”
Yu Yan didn’t listen carefully, and merely let out a muffled, “Oh.”
Yi Chen sighed and grabbed his hands, which were chaotically trying to put everything away, before saying, “I already told them that you wouldn’t be able to use this stuff.”
Yu Yan paused and turned his head to look at him. “Ah?”
“I already told them that the person I’m involved with doesn’t use such stuff.”
“…… Ah?”
Looking at his dazed appearance, Yi Chen simply said, “They already know that you are a man.”
“………… Ah.”
Yu Yan had gone into a complete daze, and he was so surprised that he couldn’t even close his mouth.
It took a while before he snapped out of it and said, “You—how can you tell them that so quickly?! You guys just made up, why do you have to talk about these things…”
Yi Chen raised his eyebrows. “I didn’t feel like there was anything to hide about this.”
Yu Yan was so nervous that his heart started beating faster. He frowned and looked carefully at Yi Chen from top to bottom.
“They didn’t hit you ba?”
When Yi Chen heard these words, he couldn’t help but laugh before replying, “No.”
“They said they’ll bring another gift for you the next time they go abroad.”
“That’s not necessary.” Yu Yan’s face, which was a mass of worry, didn’t seem to change as he absent-mindedly said that.
After a while, upon realizing what he had just heard, he froze and looked up abruptly. “…What did you just say?”
Yi Chen watched his expressions go from surprise to delight, and couldn’t help raising his hand and rubbing his hair. “Don’t worry, my parents are not so rigid in this respect. They’re much more tolerant than you think. And taking ten thousand steps back, even if they couldn’t accept it, I would still tell them about it.”
“Yu Yan, we’re dating, and I have never intended to hide you.”
