Chapter 109 - Extra CP (Zuo Zhen x Lu Xiuhe)- Like me forever oh.
Edited by Noks
Airport meetups were still something people had to devote particular care in organizing, and so the big fan sent Lu Xiuhe the list of fans who were going to be there at the airport meetup. He glanced at it; in such a small place as Manyang, with such short notice, they could still actually gather dozens of people.
The big fan said that they had far more than just these people, but the event happening in Manyang this time was a group activity. The other members of Pz would also be coming, and if there were too many of Zuo Zhen’s supporters, then that could cause dissatisfaction among the fans of the other members, so even the 30 or so people who were going to this meetup had been carefully selected by her.
Basically speaking, fan circles were really complicated, and you had to take a lot of care even when just arranging an airport meetup.
On the day of the airport meetup, Lu Xiuhe was still reading the “30 rules for an Airport Meetup” that had been sent by the big fan while having breakfast. He was studying it even more seriously than the time he had spent memorizing study materials in high school.
Zuo Zhen would land at 11:30 a.m., so Lu Xiuhe arrived at the airport at 9:00 a.m., and most of the other fans had also arrived by this time. Lu Xiuhe called out for everyone in the groupchat, and soon, they all gathered together.
“Did everyone have breakfast?” Lu Xiuhe said, “Let’s go grab the spot by the exit first, but remember, don’t occupy too much of it. Let’s also save some room for the other fans, but the spots that will allow for good shots to be captured have to be grabbed beforehand. There’s also no need to bring along too many lightboards, just two or three will be enough. Small items can be taken…”
He went over all the things they had to take precautions for once, and his voice wasn’t loud when he was doing this, just enough to allow the fans around him to hear him clearly.
But in reality, most of the fans weren’t listening to him attentively.
They had known that it was a boy who was organizing the airport meetup today, but they hadn’t expected him to be a tall, fresh, and sunny boy. He belonged to the type of person who drew the most attention when he threw his jersey on to go onto the basketball court.
“Do you understand?” After Lu Xiuhe finished, he laughed a bit with the fans. His white teeth flashed out, and his sunniness rocketed up in a straight line as he called out, “Little Meimeis.”
The little Meimeis took a hundred critical hits.
Lu Xiuhe didn’t think anything about calling them little Meimeis. One look and he could tell that most of the fans here were younger than him. After all, all the fans who were older than him were working themselves to death at the year-end rush.
It took a long time for them to return to their senses, after which they nodded and replied, “Un-understood…”
By eleven o’clock, they had successfully managed to occupy the spot closest to the exit for VIP passengers. Lu Xiuhe, standing in the middle of this crowd, kept feeling very awkward.
Besides him were not only Zuo Zhen’s fans, but also the fans of the other group members, and all of them were mainly women, and there were even more junior and senior high school students in this crowd. As a big man standing in the center of this gathering, he stood out like a crane standing among chickens.
“Um, Lulu ah.” The female fan nearby suddenly patted Lu Xiuhe on the shoulder.
Lu Xiuhe turned his head and asked, “What’s the matter?”
“It’s my first time coming to an airport meetup, and I keep thinking that I should mark the occasion.” The little girl raised her selfie stick and said, “….Can we take a picture together?”
“Ah? Of course you guys can…” Lu Xiuhe said, “You guys bunch up ba, I will not join in the fun.”
“No ah, everyone together ba. It’ll be really fast, just a few seconds.”
Lu Xiuhe had no choice but to draw closer to the camera and take a picture with everyone.
He was afraid that if this picture was ever seen by his roommates, he might have to spend the rest of his life being an object of ridicule.
Just after the photo was taken, some fans who were parked in front of the flight notification board came back to inform them, “Landed! Zhenzhen’s plane has landed!”
When everyone heard these words, they immediately began to pull out all of their tools, such as lightboards and small glow-sticks, and reinforcing their headbands to make sure not a single thing would fall off. They placed all of these things on their bodies, hoping that when their idols came out, the first thing they would see would be themselves.
Lu Xiuhe also began to prepare.
He quickly opened his backpack, which was hanging on his shoulders, took out his mask, sunglasses, and hat, and put them on his face one by one. His movements were crisp and decisive, with no draggy movements at all. At last, he turned on the selfie mode on his phone to take a look at himself.
Very good, very tight. Even if his mom showed up, she wouldn’t be able to recognize him.
The little girl next to him was shocked by his moves. “…. Lulu, this is…?”
“I have a few pimples on my face. I don’t want to destroy my image in Zhenzhen’s mind,” he said solemnly.
“Ah, but I didn’t see any pimples on your face ah.”
“They didn’t grow in very obvious spots, so they can’t be seen at a glance.”
“……”
The little girl was planning to ask more, but then she saw the commotion start up at the exit. Right after that, the fans around them began to quietly start chanting their idols’ names.
The Pz group came out together.
Lu Xiuhe quickly looked up at the terminal area and saw a group of assistant-like people appear at the end of the terminal. They took a look at the fans outside the terminal and made sure that the group members could safely pass through before turning around and saying something.
A few seconds later, six men came out of the terminal.
Lu Xiuhe recognised Zuo Zhen at a glance.
Zuo Zhen was the group leader, so naturally, he was also at the front. His hair color seemed to have just been touched up; it was deeper today than it had been in the video that Lu Xiuhe had watched the other day. Zuo Zhen was wearing a mask but no sunglasses, so his good-looking pair of eyes were exposed. As long as he casually swept his gaze around, the fans would all start screaming.
He had broad shoulders and long legs, and because of the temperature difference between the two cities, he had a down jacket loosely gripped in his hand. He was wearing a black sweater and simple jeans, and when placed side-by-side with the assistants around him, you could even make a post about “the difference between stars and passers-bys” on Weibo.
Lu Xiuhe only wanted to pull down his sunglasses for a second to steal a look, but unexpectedly, as soon as he looked, he fell into a daze. Only when Zuo Zhen’s gaze turned around did he suddenly return to his senses and put them on again in a panic.
He lowered his head until he looked like a little chicken pecking at rice, and pulled his hat down with his hand while silently retreating to the back of the crowd, intending to head right to the end of the line.
Who knew that just after he had stepped back two steps, his arm would be caught.
Before Lu Xiuhe could react, a great big lightboard was stuffed into his hands.
“Lulu, take this.” The little girl from just now spoke with a righteous expression on her face, “My lightboard is the biggest one in the whole airport. Take it, and I guarantee that Zhenzhen will see you at a glance!”
The little girl had thought about it, and realized that just because of a few pimples, he felt he had no face to meet his idol. How humble and fanatical was this kind of love ah!
She was moved.
She decided to help this poor boy.
Lu Xiuhe was scared out of his wits and hurriedly tried to evade her. He was so flustered that he even stuttered, “I-I-I-I don’t need it ah!”
“It’s fine! It’s just a light board, and I’m going to be settling down in Jincheng in two months, after which I can go to airport meetups for Zhenzhen every day. I don’t care about this time.” The little girl had a very strong grip, and because they were in the middle of the group, Lu Xiuhe dared not resist violently. Within a few seconds, the lightboard fell into Lu Xiuhe’s hands. She continued, “Also, you’re pretty tall, and you lifting it up will make for a better effect than me. It took me several nights to make this lightboard, so you must make sure it becomes the most beautiful lightboard in the airport! Quickly! Hold it steady! Lift it up higher!”
Lu Xiuhe broke down and howled internally—if it’s your own matter, then you do it ah! You made the lightboard, so you lift it up ah!! I think you’re already 17, 18, or maybe even 19, so it can’t be that you don’t understand this?!!
——
Having slept for hours on the plane, drowsiness still lingered among the six people.
Only Zuo Zhen’s eyes were clear, and no sleepiness could be seen on his face at all.
When he got to the exit, he turned around and said, “Wake up a bit. Even if you’re really tired, you still have to wait until we get to the car to sleep more.”
It was only then that the other five members started to gather up their strength and began to tidy up their looks.
As expected, there were many people outside the terminal. As soon as Zuo Zhen got to the exit, he pinpointed his fans in the crowd.
Because everyone in the group was wearing masks, several of them were still chatting, though they weren’t doing it loudly. One of the group members seemed to have spotted something and suddenly laughed. “Haha, look at Zuo Zhen’s fan group.”
“What’s the matter?”
“There’s a very tall boy.”
“He’s not very tall ah, it’s just that he’s surrounded by women, so he looks tall ba.”
“No, the key point is, look at him. Wearing sunglasses and a face mask, he’s even more tightly wrapped up than we are. People who didn’t know what was going on would think the fans are here to meet him at the airport instead.”
“Hahaha, now that you say that, it really does look like that…”
Zuo Zhen glanced at that spot in the crowd and sure enough, saw a young man wearing those exaggerated clothes, but whose face he couldn’t see clearly. Not only was the boy wearing a lot, but he was also holding an even more ostentatious lightboard right in front of his face. If the group hadn’t been lining up in profile while exiting, he possibly even wouldn’t be able to see anything.
It really seemed that rather than coming for an airport meetup, this person was more like a student who was sleeping in class and covering himself up with books.
“Don’t comment on my fans.” He looked away after a glance, with a smile on his lips, but there was no warmth in his tone.
The two men chatting about this immediately shut up. After a while, they heard an airy sentence. “What, not even letting people talk? Really thinking you’re the big boss ah.”
“You should talk a bit less. Once we get closer, the fans will be able to hear you,” said the little young man following behind Zuo Zhen.
When the assistants beside them saw that they had all gone quiet, they couldn’t help but feel relieved.
Although the situation wasn’t as serious as the rumors outside were spreading it to be, there really had been many problems in Pz recently. It was mainly centered around the battle between the group leader and the group’s “face”. The group leader actually didn’t really try to clarify his position, but the “face” was fighting to get the single C position on the stage. Recently, they had been arguing too hard to try to resolve the problem peacefully.
Having finally walked out of the terminal, Zuo Zhen pulled down his mask and smiled at the fans. A scream resounded in the crowd.
Surrounded by assistants and security personnel, these six people simply walked to the airport exit.
Their ears were full of their fans’ shouts. As Zuo Zhen walked, he kept nodding his head. Finally, upon encountering those who were a bit louder, he raised his hand, put his index finger on his lips, and said, “Shh.”
The fans’ voices immediately turned much smaller, but the light in their eyes glowed brighter.
However, the person who was holding the lightboard in front of his face completely missed seeing this action of Zuo Zhen’s, and so continued shouting at his original volume.
The boy’s slightly heavy voice soon stood out in the midst of the crowd——
“Zhenzhen has worked hard!”
“Zhenzhen needs to wrap up a bit more!”
“Zhenzhen, pay attention to safety!”
There was no emotion in his voice, it was as if he were reading military training slogans.
“Pfft.” One of the Pz group members really couldn’t hold back anymore and let out a laugh through his mask.
But he soon recovered to his usual posture, clenched his fist, and moved it in front of his mouth to cough softly. Just as he was about to move on, he saw the man at the front of the group suddenly pause his steps and then come to a complete stop.
Zuo Zhen frowned a bit, and then looked back and successfully caught sight of that big lightboard.
The lightboard had been designed with great care. Many of the outfits he had worn in his music video were painted on it, and in order to stand out, only the two big characters of “Zhen Zhen” were written on it.
Holding onto the lightboard was a pair of hands with very distinctive bones. One look and you could tell that they belonged to a boy.
Zuo Zhen’s gaze drifted lower, and he caught sight of a familiar pair of black and white AJ shoes. In the midst of so many women’s shoes, it stood out a lot.
It was the one that he had bought for his online romantic partner.
His turning around had immediately caused the fans to start screaming.
The security guard nearby hurriedly reminded him, “Go ahead first ba, stopping will cause the crowd to jam up.”
Zuo Zhen let out an “en” and said, “I’ll go soon.”
After saying that, not only did he not leave, but he even turned around and walked towards the crowd.
The security guard was startled and rushed to surround him.
The shrieks around him grew fiercer and fiercer. Lu Xiuhe was holding up the lightboard and didn’t know what was happening at all. His curiosity had already climbed all the way up to his throat.
Zuo Zhen’s legs were long, and he was the first one to walk out of the terminal. Shouldn’t he have already left the airport without a trace by now?
Nothing should happen if he stole a look now.
Thinking thus, he poked his head out a little bit from the right side of the lightboard.
Once he poked his head out like this, he couldn’t pull it back.
At some unknown point, Zuo Zhen had walked directly in front of him, and this person’s eyebrows were being raised up gently, his eyes filled with many emotions.
The gazes of these two people met, and Lu Xiuhe stiffened, his heart filled with only three letters—WTF.
There were a lot of people bustling around them, but fortunately, the fans were obedient. Although excited, they didn’t forget to control their volume, so Lu Xiuhe could clearly hear Zuo Zhen ask him—
“You’re my fan?”
“….”
All eyes were pinned on Lu Xiuhe.
Lu Xiuhe was very clear that if he dared to say something like “no”, he would die at the Manyang airport today.
So he squeezed out his voice to reply with a “….yes.”
Zuo Zhen nodded and pretended to ask in a casual manner, “Do you like me very much?”
“……”
“Yes…”
“Zhenzhen! He likes you so so so much!” The girl next to him had gone crazy as she blurted out, “Two pimples developed on his face, and he was afraid of leaving you with a bad impression, so you see how much he’s wrapped himself up!!!”
“Oh?” Zuo Zhen’s eyes remained still, and he stared fixedly at Lu Xiuhe. “Is that right?”
“……”
“……”
Lu Xiuhe took a deep breath and said, “….Yes.”
Zuo Zhen nodded, obviously satisfied.
“Thank you for your love.”
Lu Xiuhe’s face had turned so hot by now that he could explode at any moment.
Lu Xiuhe wanted his soul to drift away right then and there.
“…… Y-you’re welcome.”
Everyone thought it would be over with this, but unexpectedly, Zuo Zhen still didn’t leave. Instead, he took out a black signature pen from his pocket and carefully started to sign the lightboard.
Although Lu Xiuhe was able to hold the lightboard steadily, because of the crowd, his arm constantly kept getting knocked into, which in turn caused the lightboard to sway around.
Lu Xiuhe felt something warm cover the back of his hand.
Zuo Zhen held the back of his hand and lightly said, “Don’t move, or the signature will come out ugly.”
The only thought in Lu Xiuhe’s head now was that this moment was too long and slow.
Is your venerable name a hundred words long that you’re taking this long to sign?!
At last, upon hearing the sound of Zuo Zhen placing his pen cap back on the pen, Lu Xiuhe breathed out a long sigh.
All of a sudden, he felt something lightly scratch at the pocket on the front of his coat.
Through the thin coat, the pen cap scraped against his skin, before falling into his pocket, which gave him a start.
He then heard Zuo Zhen say, “This pen is for you. Like me forever oh.”
