Pursuing Her Best Friend after Confession Failed-Chapter 351 - 157: Returning to Modu, The Heartbroken and Fasting Zhong Tingyue
Li Yuan frowned. "What does she want with you?"
Li Zixia snorted, pouting with a look of resignation. "Bro, are you dense or something?"
"What else could Weixi want from me? Obviously, she wants to build a good relationship with her future sister-in-law."
"Besides, you’ve already met her parents. Naturally, Weixi wants to meet your family, too."
"You stupid oaf."
"Watch your mouth," Li Yuan said, pinching Li Zixia’s cheek as he looked at her haughty expression.
I have a feeling I can’t keep this secret for much longer. My roommates, Liu Jia and Yi Jing, already know about my relationships with Zhong Tingyue and Jiang Zhiyu. Now even my sister knows. Bai Weixi and Zhong Tingyue could discover the truth at any moment... Forget it. I’ll just play it by ear.
Li Yuan sighed inwardly, his gaze drifting to the man-made lake beyond the balcony window. A wave of weariness washed over him.
I promised myself I’d keep things physical, not emotional. But when faced with girls like Xia Zhijin, Zhong Tingyue, and Jiang Zhiyu—all so exceptional in every way—I can’t help but get genuinely invested. That saying about a man’s nature couldn’t be more true. I’ve acted like a playboy, but I don’t have the heart for it. The truth is, Zhong Tingyue, Jiang Zhiyu, and Xia Zhijin are just too wonderful. I couldn’t help but fall for them...
Li Yuan issued a stern warning. "Zixia, you’re the only one who can know about this. Don’t tell anyone else, and that includes Mom and Dad."
"Bro, are you trying to bribe me?" Li Zixia snorted. "So, what’s in it for me?"
Li Yuan’s eyes widened. "Li Zixia, you’ve gotten bold. Are you really trying to extort your own brother?"
Li Zixia suppressed a smirk and rolled her eyes at him. Tilting her pale neck, she spoke with an air of arrogant pride. "It’s your own fault for being a two-timing scumbag, stinky bro. And I’m the one who caught you."
"This is hush money, get it?"
Li Yuan flicked her on the forehead and scoffed, "With that tiny frame of yours, you want hush money? Aren’t you afraid I’ll shut you up for good?"
"Stinky bro, I’m your one and only wonderful sister. You wouldn’t have the heart, would you?" She giggled. "Seriously, Bro, how are you really planning to handle this?"
Li Zixia’s gaze turned serious as she stared at Li Yuan, voicing the question on her mind. "Between Zhijin and Weixi, who are you going to choose?"
"Only a fool would choose," Li Yuan said with a confident smile. "I’m choosing them all."
"Bro, you may not be the most handsome, but you’re certainly the biggest dreamer," Li Zixia said, rolling her eyes and pouting.
She didn’t believe for a second that girls as beautiful as Xia Zhijin and Bai Weixi could ever accept the other’s presence. Besides, they were stunning—more so than some of the big stars she’d seen on TV—and they were freshmen at a prestigious 985 university. Li Zixia couldn’t imagine they didn’t have other suitors, unless every other man in the world had dropped dead...
Suddenly, Li Zixia’s eyes lit up. "I know why you registered this apartment directly in Zhijin’s name!"
"Bro, don’t tell me you’re planning to keep a love nest?"
Li Yuan gave his precocious little sister a surprised look. He had to admit, she had a point.
My efforts are visible to them, and I’ve already met their families, forging ties. That might give me some wiggle room when the truth comes out. Maybe they’ll remember the good things I’ve done and hesitate, instead of just deleting and blocking me, disappearing from my life forever. As long as my game is strong, what’s a little battleground to fear?
"Stop guessing. You’ll find out eventually. I’ll handle it," Li Yuan said, glancing toward the bedroom where Xia Zhijin was still resting. "Go talk to Zhijin. I’ve got some things to take care of."
In the study, Li Yuan opened his laptop, plugged in a wireless internet stick, and logged into QQ on his computer. He casually scrolled through the numerous messages from his readers on his Qzone feed and soon came across comments from Bai Weixi and Jiang Zhiyu.
I can’t use this account anymore. If this keeps up, I’ll be completely exposed sooner or later. Maybe I should just say it was hacked and register a few new QQ accounts? After all, accounts get hacked all the time.
Li Yuan thought it was a viable solution, even if it was a bit of a hassle. Bai Weixi and Jiang Zhiyu both loved chatting with him on QQ. In an era before WeChat, QQ completely dominated the online communication market.
After some thought, Li Yuan went ahead and registered a few alternate accounts to keep in reserve. Each QQ account would correspond to a different girlfriend, with her birthday as the password.
He was aimlessly browsing his friends’ posts when he saw one Bai Weixi had made a few days ago. He saw many photos of himself with her, as well as pictures of the brand-new BMW Z4 sports car. Naturally, there were many comments below from their high school classmates and her university friends.
*Wow, Weixi made it official! This guy must be her boyfriend. He’s handsome, has a real stylish vibe.*
*Tsk, tsk, is that a BMW Z4 sports car? It’s awesome, must have cost hundreds of thousands. Could it be a gift for Bai from the pride of Class 22, Big Writer Li? How romantic, giving her a sports car right after they made things official!*
*Bai Weixi and Li Yuan... they knew each other for three years in high school and were even deskmates for two of them. Now they’ve finally gotten together in university! The destined lovers are finally united, while a broke bystander like me can only watch... I’m filled with so much envy, jealousy, and hate...*
